    Thermistor removal th-cam.com/video/Zis5WN_if60/w-d-xo.html
The thermistor can fail when replacing or connecting back the battery. Keep the key in POS II with headlights on when disconnecting, connecting back, or replacing the battery. When the thermistor fails, it can cause driver's side climate to stuck on hot, vents won't work, heated seats and rear window defrost inoperative, etc Thermistor off Ebay www.ebay.com/itm/2003-2014-VOLVO-XC90-S80-S60-XC70-V70-HVAC-Thermistor-8651244-30782330/274266146616?epid=1217840281&hash=item3fdb894738:g:5fMAAOSwP45eRd7k#rwid

I’m really beginning to dislike these picky cars! My blower stays on after the key is out. Not afterblow fan, I think the blower resistor is going bad. Good video.

I'm trying to scroll down my memory, we had this exact same issue on forums, if I remember it was indeed a blower resistor problem, if not maybe an issue with the CCM thermistor but better ask the matthew's forum to be sure

I just got exactly the same. 1h after car in garage, the cabin fan started to work. Car was locked and no Key in igniton. I had to unlock and turn ignition on and then fan stopped. Any idea?

Thanks for the fix, I changed the resistor and the AC finally blows cold and switching between top, mid and bottom vents works.
The only problem is thay not all the dash vents blow with the same intensity. Is it a software issue?

If each is wide open, I would first check the air filter is clean, then maybe the blend doors don't open properly - this can be reset in Vida

Turns out it was the heated seat module that as messing up the whole system. I had no heated seats and no ac on drivers side. Once I unplugged heated seat module, the entire climate system started working again.

@@jupitersjunk4718 how did you unplug the heated seat module? Where is that located?
I just replaced my whole climate control panel and that seemed to get the heat fan etc working again but now the heated seat buttons on the replacement panel don't turn the seat heat on. The lights don't come on when I push the buttons. The heat and fan stopped working a month ago and when the panel was changed out they worked again but no heated seats. And there is a clicking under the dash right after I get the car started before the climate control panel activates.

2007 s60 R.....I got a problem with my climate function. The AC will not work on the drivers side. Air comes out of the feet only and is stuck on the hottest temp. I can not switch to any other setting except feet. The passenger side AC works and will switch from feet, head, and defroster. The blower works on all speeds. With the summer coming I’d like to have AC on my side and not blasting hot. Any idea? I checked all fuses relating to climate.

It seems there is a situation when a failed AQS (Air Quality Sesnor) will affect temperature control of the passenger side only and heated seat control. Disconnecting the AQS will restore LIN bus function (the auto recirculation function will not work though) and indicate that the AQS is faulty. This however should not affect AC function. Cars equipped with AQS have two lights on the Recirculate button. I don't know where the AQS fuse is located This is the sensor on XC90 th-cam.com/video/nsr2SfxpwYU/w-d-xo.html

I've disconnected and reconnected my battery several times in my S60, particularly while doing work to the CCM in converting all of the bulbs in it to LED (of the bulbs that aren't already LED inside of it). I only learned of the key in Pos II trick afterward but had no bad effects. No DIM messages and no broken CCM.

I was experiencing hot air, and then cold air no matter the engine temperature.
I clean the thermistor which had some dust on it but the problem continued.
If you’re having the same problem, even with the engine warm, climate control at max same thing: very hot air and them very cold air.
The problem is the Climate control unit (CCU), needs to be recalibrated.
    It’s a common problem at S60.
I did it at a workshop and is working properly now, really hot inside.
It can be done with other devices not necessarily Vida Dice.
I hope it will be useful for someone as I struggled with this problem from March this year.
    Volvo for life.

Hey mate, thanks for the video! It was just like you explained... I broke accidentally the tiny wire when I tried to get rid of the noisy caused by the dust hidden in the channel. No Funktion at all when I put it back. Bought a complete climate control unit used on ebay and it didn't work properly because of the different programming. Then I dismantled both units and just changed the tiny plate with the climate sensor. Just cut the 2 wires and connected them with tape. And now: everything is just fine! Once more: thank you for the video! Have a great one. Greetings from Germany!

Hi. Need article number of rotary encoder which is responsible for manual adjustment of blowers speed. I desoldered broken one on my circuit board, but there is nothing on it, no number or whatever. EC11N..., EC11J..., or which one it exactly is? Somebody told me it is standard Alps encoder, but Alps got hundrets of them. I'm aware it might be hard to tell, so maybe you know where may i get drawing for circuit board with components list used on it?

@@Peppermint1 I'm waiting for answer from Alps, they are making those panels, maybe they will answer. The thing is that if i will give it to workshop that repair such panels, they will at first charge me 150€ for "good morning", so whole refresh of this part mat cost me over 250€. Encoder cost about 6€, i can soldier it by myself, just have no idea which one it exactly is. Thank you for answer anyway.

Could you just clean the thermostat? Will that fix the problem or does it need a new part all together?

    • @Peppermint1
      @Peppermint1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

The small thermistor can be either covered with stuff - just use a home vacuum without touchign it, but it can also be broken if someone is touching it - should be visible with a flash light. There is also a tiny fan behind it that can get clogged - see how I disassemble the CCM on another video. But check first the hinge I talk about on the other answer, the CCM door hinge near the heater core on driver's side, see if it's not broken when someone removes the heater core without placing the CCM vents at the correct position.
