- This is a video to help you install a window regulator in a VW golf mark V 2004-2009 model.
I hope the video helps you and you find it useful, if you do please like, share and subscribe to my channel
There are some small parts missing due to battery failure, The install of the old motor to the new regulator, just make sure you leave them side by side and (old reg & new) take a photo if unsure, that goes for the regulator as well :)
Great video, glad you answered question about no need to remove door skin .
Great video, just what I was looking for, I was hoping it was the motor on the inside but it’s now a bigger job as it seems to be the regulator, hey! Ho!
Thanks - possibly a few of the early steps glossed over, but worth watching just to learn that the motor can be removed from the outside. I assume this means that there's no need to remove the inner door card, is that correct?
when adjusting the cable, does the door handle need to be pulled all the way out for proper tension on the cable?
Will it easy to change a manual window regulator for mk5 rear driver side one?
Thanks for the video. Off to replace my wires tomorrow if the rain stops .
Good luck James.
@@GerardBurkeBurkesGarage got it done . Now the other one . Cheers
Thanks for the info
Nice video. Is it necessary to remove the inside door panel when replacing the regulator?
The inner door panel does not need to be removed for replacing the regulator. Thanks for the comment
@@GerardBurkeBurkesGarageHow come the inner door panel has been removed if it is not necessary? or did I miss something?
did you disconnect the car battery for this job?
Good helpful video lad , any idea why one window would stop working ?
Why did you remove the inner door panel? The motor can be unscrewed from the main part of the regulator once it is unscrewed from the door itself (from the outside).
Which key does I need which you use at minute 1:00 ? Thank you.

Yeah, you skipped the most important part. Thanks anyway.
Thanks it helped me
Any ideas how difficult swapping an electric regulator to a manual one would be?
I have just brought a replacement offside rear door, came to collect it and found out that the window is electric. Should have checked first I guess! Great video, by the way!
Never done one, I would stick with the what it was from factory if I were you, you will have to change door panels etc.. to have it manual. makes the car look a bit odd as well & considering they are not expensive to sort out.
Thanks for your nice words and I hope you get it sorted.
Is there any videos on the manual regulator repairs on the rear VW Golf Mk 5
Very good. Thank you😉
Just to add the small torx head screws (about 20)for the door skin MUST go back in the same location. you have been warned
Only the ones along the slam side are different.
is it necessary to take off the inside door panel?
The inner door panel does not need to be removed for replacing the regulator.
Thanks
Which torx key does I need ? T20?

Gerard Burke Thank u
nice one, Cheers :)
No problem, thanks for the comment
damm good job!!!!
Has anybody had a problem getting the passenger side door handle off when changing window regulator? I have all bolts out and door lock loosened. Any help is great thanks.
Gently pry behind it with a flat head or plastic trim tool being careful not to damage the paint
Anyone doing this DONT be tempted to buy a non OEM part for this job Even if you can get it to work the plastic runners are not grease and made of poor quality plastic. Wont last long and sound horrible every time the windows are opening and closing

Literally didn't film any of the repair.
What a crappy design, thanks for the video though.
