I remember this being a classic old wives tale in a lot of cultures. Yes! In fact I've found that the only natural deodorants that work are the salt based ones. If you look at the ingredients to most on the market they are filled with trendy looking ingredients like shea butter and coconut oil but those are just moisturizers not disinfectants whereas salt has long since been used as a a natural preservative While coconut oil has antimicrobial/bacterials properties and its own health benefits there is its own time and place for its use. its not deodorant.. how it is used in deodorant and the kind that is used in deodorant doesn't offer anything other than being oily.
(In the states I think Crystal is the only salt based brand I've found and like.) But you have to put it on clean skin, you can't use it to mask having missed a shower. lol

Fun fact, I am from an area of the logging industry, many used to, (still may) all have at least 1 container of salt each.
It will sanitize, stop some bleeding, and numb. If somehow the wound is dirty they would pee on it to clean debris off before pouring salt.
Remember this is information I heard over 40 years ago.
Some jobs were hours if not days away from medical help, no cell phones, only cb or ham radios, working in very secluded areas.
I’ve always known salt was healing because of my dad, but this was astonishing to me at the time.

But my black heads are not exaclty cleared out, they still appear in my chin and nose. So I started a diet, reduced my carbs and milk intake (milk gives fat) and my skin got even more clear (at least my black heads are under control). Yes!!! I love going to the beach to heal and clear my skin from any problems I may have at the time!!! It always works for me!! Never heard of doing what she’s doing but I might try it because I can’t always get to the beach and spend like half a day there like I feel I need to if i want to clear my skin in a day or two!!!
The absolute BEST stuff to use on your face imo is the refining mask that proactive makes!!!! It’s like sulfur or something and it makes my pores so small you can’t see them at all!! Not even very close up!!!! I don’t use anything else from proactive because it’s all too expensive and your skin will get like addicted to it and you’ll just break out the second you stop using it so that sucks!! But I do recommend trying the refining mask!! Especially if you have bigger pores like I used to before I started using the refining mask stuff!! Only thing that sucks is that It is kind of expensive (like $35 for an ounce or two!! Ridiculous !!😩 😑) but I swear if you have big open pores that’s a big reason you’ll break out!! Because all the dirt and bacteria and yucky stuff can easily get in there but it’s not so easy to get it out!!!! Get the mask and shrink your pores and I swear you’ll thank me later!!! you don’t have to use it every day either, just a few times a week just on the places you need it the most !! After a while you will need it less and less but still keep using it at least once a week.. that’s what I do and it lasts me maybe a month or sometimes 2 now!! In the beginning I used it more often and in more places but like I said after a little bit you’ll notice a BIG DIFFERENCE!!! I think if I remember correctly I noticed a difference like the day after the first time I used it!!!! I really Hope this helps someone!!!!
The only other things I use on my face is “T.N. Dickinsons Witch Hazel for face and body” and Cetaphil face lotion for sensitive skin.. once in a while I’ll use the cetaphil face wash too but other than that I wash my face with just water and then use the which hazel and then the moisturizer I just mentioned..
Another thing I added to my routine is fiber gummy’s because all bad health and bad skin problems I believe start in your gut!! We carry like 8-15 pounds of 💩 inside of our intestines like on a daily basis and that’s like not good at all!! You should going to the bathroom like every day once or even multiple times a day!!!! I also added a prenatal gummy vitamin too because it has more of everything and I just wanted to get the most of everything that I possibly could!!! I swear just adding these gummy’s changed my entire mood and sleep habits and skin and weight too!!!! I’m really feeling so much better now and I have been telling everyone about what I e been doing because all of it combined really helped me so I just want to help others if I can!!!! Sorry for this long reply but I figured this was the best place to share all this information!!! God bless you all and I really truly hope and pray that even one of these things I’ve shared can help someone else out there who’s been looking for a healthy change in their lives!!! Much love and God bless you all in Jesus name!! Amen!!!!

So, using saltwater to clear up your skin is a pretty popular thing in hispanic culture, or at least it is in Mexican & Salvadoran culture (I’m of Mexican descent, husband is Salvadoran, and we both have heard/used this). When my mom & her siblings got any kind of skin irritation as a kid, her dad (my grandfather) would just take them to the beach, or tell them to go to the beach. I got a bacterial infection (a cousin to staph) on my legs pretty badly when Covid first hit, and about the middle of quarantine (June/July) I didn’t have a whole lot of hope for it ever going away. I went to the beach with a friend of mine, only got about waist deep in the water, and my legs cleared up surprisingly well! I went to the doctor & got an antibiotic to clear up the rest. My husband and I both strongly believe in the healing properties of salt water so every time we get an itch or a patch or a breakout, the first thing we say is “We need to go to the beach.” Lol!

Yup ! If u have acne the best thing to do is a fruit and green tea and water fast and hit the beach up and soak in the salt water ! I promise the sunlight and the saltwater will kill the bacteria and pull the oils and dirt to the surface and dries out the skin and pores and heals it . The fasting is so good to get rid of all the toxins inside . It’s life changing . I’ve never prayed my face like this chic but I do go to the beach all the time just to keep my skin under control. Other than that the best meds I’ve used to heal my acne is dapsone. It’s about two hundred a month without ins and a few bucks with ins from a dermatologist . Best meds I’ve ever used . Green tea mask are the best too

My skin was so clear in comparison to my usual face (and I always have horrible acne)
I never thought much about it but wow
Now I Wanna try this but I already have an elaborate routine that's helping (for the First time, something works)

-¼ cup almond oil or melted coconut oil
-15 drops essential oil (I bought this on Amazon and used a mix of Tea Tree, Chamomile, Lavender oil)

@Daikon I don’t think it’s good for you. Salt can dry out your face, which has really delicate skin. Or it might not even effect your skin, as pores are smaller than salt. Probably best to stick to the salt water spray.
It’s not best to listen to people on the internet though without research of your own. If you search it up, there might be some studies on it.

I suffered from acne as a teenager and being in a navy family, we always lived by the beach and I do remember the sea water TEMPORARILY making my skin so clear, but it would ALWAYS come back. Same thing with pool water during swim season. It was ALWAYS temporary though. I cringe thinking about how I would purposely let my skin get so dried up just because it would clear my acne for a little while… I could see this being a good temporary fix maybe before an event or if you are having some kind of acne that’s strictly being caused by some kind of bacterial “infection”… but if your acne is chronic, purposely drying out your skin over and over and over again with salt water won’t actually address the root cause of your acne and it can’t be great for your skin over time.. I’m getting wrinkles just thinking about it.. But I’m no expert… I’m sure it’s just fine for some people! Just know it might be NOT good for you… especially if you’re not a teenager anymore… please don’t give yourself premature wrinkles…
