Looking soooo much forward the Esprit to reappear on this channel. First Lotus episodes were the booster and motivator to start my own project channel.
Ah yes. The dreaded "I know this is an entire side project.. but it would be SO COOL!" that takes us down a rabbit hole. Fantastic editing and narration as always. And congrats, dad!
You're a god, despite being several projects deep you seemingly spent days building the door opening mechanism for your bulkhead. I absolutely love it, you're a genius.
Man that van is a work of art! Such a cool passion project. But yeah, very very excited to see more Lotus videos. Get that baby trained up to help you in the shop!
Another fantastic production. Good work. Congratulations on fatherhood. A much bigger journey but one I have no doubt you will enjoy. Remember- Happy wife, Happy life. Looking forward to Esprit progress.
awesome news on the new hooman, my second one totally stopped my content creation but there is so much to look forward to. I just gave mine his first TIG lesson at 5 years old, such a proud dad moment, I'm sure your little one will be doing stop motion in no time
Congratulations on becoming a dad For your side pockets you can use cargo nets from the poundshop, the large holes in them can be closed up using a few zip ties!. Cant wait for the next episode in this build, its really taking shape now 👍👍.
George, I will say it like it is: you are a GENIUS & an ARTIST and all you need is CONSISTENCY to get to 1M subscribers! We ALL want to see that Esprit driving again one day, but can't wait until the end of time, so let's get a move on! Cheers
I’m also a new dad! I’ve been stuck-in as well, doing several home DIY projects so the new addition will approve of my work hahahaha. Congrats and your family will enjoy the HECK out of that sweet van!!!
HOW DOES THIS NOT HAVE 14 BILLION VIEWS?? As a consumer of quite a bit of TH-cam vehicular content, this is truly one of the most jaw-dropping, ingenious and original things I've ever seen. PS. A Tipp native cheering you on from afar.
Ahh, liquorice torpedoes ....nowz ya talkin'....👍 The vision, the creative concepts, the creative editing, the videography, the sardonic narration keeps me rivetted....get it, 'rivetted'. Surely your sliocht will be proud of these little masterpieces capturing your skills and tenacity, preserved for all time on the interweb.
I'll be honest, as you introduced each idea for this project, I was very much either: "that'll never work!" or "that seems like a LOT of effort!". But then you're execution has proven me wrong... on at least the first point. I guess that's why i'm here watching you do it, and not over engineering details on my own build!
One of the most interesting things I did in the Navy, was QAWTD (quick acting water tight door) maintenance. How the mechanism worked was fascinating. A bit frustrating the first time I took everything apart THINKING I knew how it went back together. lol I love everything you're doing, Mate. Cheers on being a Dad!
For my van cab door, I just used some $2.99 plastic catches and a $9.99 metal handle, but hey, each to his own. :D That was magnificent. I've never seen that done before.
That's lovely work, gave me a few ideas. And congrats on becoming a father, the greatest gift. Except you will now worry every day for the rest of your life. It's a blast.
Esprit or no Esprit, I really appreciate your creative process -- it is very inspiring, educational, entertaining, and encouraging. Also, congrats on the family expansion unit.
Love the work on the door 'catch'. I understand the posting delay. The new small ones do that to 'schedules'... Now back to some Lotus love! Will be great to see it come back together again!
Huge and hearty congratulations on the arrival of the best project ever!! Great to have you back but you can save us the stop-motion nappy changes… best wishes to you all.
the fact he built a shed, to protect himself from the harsh weather, then proceeded to fill the shed with a CNC plasma cutter is somewhat amusing haha The plasma cutter is all cozy and comfortable inside, while he's struggling with wind and sheity weather outside at 22:10 haha
Congratulations on Dadhood, George. I became a patron for the Lotus vids but have just as much enjoyed your artistry on all projects and production. Keep the Red Bull close and the videos coming, but spare some time for the Dad stuff too. My boy is 17 now and the early days fly by. Good on you pal. Pete
The camper is coming together Georgie! And i have to admit i'm lookin' forward to a little Esprit time. But mostly congrats on the new addition to the fam. Many good memories ahead for ya! Cheers from Eastern Canada Lad. 😀🇨🇦
I also became a dad in the last year, and the comment about a sleep terrorist hit real deep, haha. Very impressed that you've put out any videos at all!
Your channel is an inspiration for me. Got me to start my own channel. My ocd and atention to detail doesn’t seem crazy after a couple of minutes of your channnel. Thanks for what you do!
Great stuff! As a fellow project hound, what amazes me about how you work is that you are very short on time…but you approach each task as though you have all the time in the world. Very impressive. Oh, and belated congratulations on the ‘new’ arrival. That was so long ago for me that I am now rebuilding cars for my daughters…it never ends!
Your videos are seriously inspirational. I really appreciate both the sheer amount of effort, and the places you choose to focus that effort. Videos like this make me want to get off my ass and film some more myself haha
I want to congratulate you on amazing videos! What your doing with the van is spectacular! I'm really looking forward to what is going to happen with the Lotus! Best regards, M-
Congratulations George! I'm sure it will be nice to have an extra pair of (small) hands in the shop to help out hold your sheet steel - But do start em off with something softer :)
Nice work - I think you'll need some vapour barrier behind that paneling. Warm inside and cold outside = condensation = warped wood. Same principle as a house...
Impressive work, if the net idea doesn't work out, just hit up some auto scrap yards, many cars came with netting like that in the trunk areas, might be able to scavenge something that'll work.
Did you edit the plasma cutting footage so that it was always cutting on the offbeat of the background music? It syncs up so well. What an awesome editing choice. And way to go knowing to emphasize the offbeat.
Congratulations on becoming a Dad the van is looking great one question what is the material you used in the side pockets you made looking forward to seeing more from you best regards
Thanks a mill. The material is known as 4 way stretch carpet or van lining. It does what it says on the tin but I pushed the stretch to the limits with the right corners in the pockets
@@soupclassicmotoring thanks for the reply in all fairness it looks fantastic the work you have done so far the amount of time and engineering you have done is remarkable i hope that you will have many miles of travel with your family best regards
Hi I am working on a rusty sprinter myself and hoping for some advice. I keep blowing through the metal. I have tried adjusting the voltage down but am having the same issue. May I ask what size wire and settings you were using on your welder? Thank you.
Congratulations on becoming a Dad!! One of the best jobs you can have. Cheers!
Thank you!
Looking soooo much forward the Esprit to reappear on this channel. First Lotus episodes were the booster and motivator to start my own project channel.
Can't wait either, getting old wiring for myself :D
Your channel is great, that roof vent was a masterpiece it would have stopped me from doing that resto.
@@pbysome Much appreciated ! Yep, It was my MtEverest.
Ah yes. The dreaded "I know this is an entire side project.. but it would be SO COOL!" that takes us down a rabbit hole. Fantastic editing and narration as always. And congrats, dad!
‘Would be cool’ drives way to much sidetracking around here 😅
You're a god, despite being several projects deep you seemingly spent days building the door opening mechanism for your bulkhead.
I absolutely love it, you're a genius.
Is that godly? 😳
Man that van is a work of art! Such a cool passion project. But yeah, very very excited to see more Lotus videos. Get that baby trained up to help you in the shop!
I’ve told him to go get a job a few times, he’s his own man tho 😁
Such attention to detail, such craftsmanship. Quite splendid.
Thank you!
It’s never less than a pleasure to watch your videos - thank you for sharing.
So nice of you
Another fantastic production. Good work. Congratulations on fatherhood. A much bigger journey but one I have no doubt you will enjoy. Remember- Happy wife, Happy life. Looking forward to Esprit progress.
On the way!
awesome news on the new hooman, my second one totally stopped my content creation but there is so much to look forward to.
I just gave mine his first TIG lesson at 5 years old, such a proud dad moment,
I'm sure your little one will be doing stop motion in no time
That’s brilliant, I did the same with a nephew… just waiting for this little one to walk 💪🏼🤝🏼
Congratulations on becoming a dad
For your side pockets you can use cargo nets from the poundshop, the large holes in them can be closed up using a few zip ties!. Cant wait for the next episode in this build, its really taking shape now 👍👍.
Timber side pockets look beautiful. Your work is always inspiring, thanks.
Thank you very much!
George, I will say it like it is: you are a GENIUS & an ARTIST and all you need is CONSISTENCY to get to 1M subscribers! We ALL want to see that Esprit driving again one day, but can't wait until the end of time, so let's get a move on! Cheers
Wrong on all counts, but you did the right thing saying it 😅🤝🏼
I’m also a new dad! I’ve been stuck-in as well, doing several home DIY projects so the new addition will approve of my work hahahaha. Congrats and your family will enjoy the HECK out of that sweet van!!!
Congratulations 🎉 it’s a whole other thing isn’t it. Anyway we best both get back to work 🤣
Welcome back, It's great to see you again.
And congrats on becoming a dad!
Thank you!
I have to say I deeply admire your perseverance and creativity.
BTW Irish coast is just so stunning!
On behalf of Ireland, thank you! 🇮🇪
Congrats on becoming a Father & good job on the Van.
Awesome door mod, Captain Nemo!
You better not be a land lubber ;)
Immersive, fascinating, surprising and beautiful. Your films have a dream like movie quality to them. Thanks again. 👍🇦🇺
Going for mindful peace, so thanks 😊
Being a dad awesome. Have fun brother

Just not yt general purpose fodder I suppose. Love the feedback though. Cheers Michael. G’wan the Clonmel Champers 🥂
Well Congratulations "Dad", nice to see your back...
More to come! Thanks
Congratulations on the wee one!!!
Thank you!!
congrats for being a dad, mad talent and craftsmanship

I saw what you did there 🤣 thanks for the support
I'll be honest, as you introduced each idea for this project, I was very much either: "that'll never work!" or "that seems like a LOT of effort!". But then you're execution has proven me wrong... on at least the first point. I guess that's why i'm here watching you do it, and not over engineering details on my own build!
Lol that’s basically how my ideas go over in my head too
One of the most interesting things I did in the Navy, was QAWTD (quick acting water tight door) maintenance. How the mechanism worked was fascinating. A bit frustrating the first time I took everything apart THINKING I knew how it went back together. lol I love everything you're doing, Mate. Cheers on being a Dad!
Thanks a million and nice to hear from someone with experience 💪🏼
You are a madman with this project. We love it. Nice scenery too.
Thanks 👍
Love seeing your solutions with your projects. The BH door lock mechanism is brilliant!
Incredibly positive feel to it to when it locks in
For my van cab door, I just used some $2.99 plastic catches and a $9.99 metal handle, but hey, each to his own. :D That was magnificent. I've never seen that done before.
I wished I had too, at times
That's lovely work, gave me a few ideas. And congrats on becoming a father, the greatest gift. Except you will now worry every day for the rest of your life. It's a blast.
Thanks, and yeah… so much
Esprit or no Esprit, I really appreciate your creative process -- it is very inspiring, educational, entertaining, and encouraging. Also, congrats on the family expansion unit.
Thanks a mill, for both
Engineering prowess this guy never a dull build 💪😎

Welcome back George! Looking forward to all the new content :)
Cheers dude, thanks for being here
Great watch as always, look forward to the Esprit videos. Congratulations on becoming a dad too!
Thanks so much!
oh and the ships door for the van is great craftsmanship!
Thank you s:)
Love the work on the door 'catch'. I understand the posting delay. The new small ones do that to 'schedules'...
Now back to some Lotus love! Will be great to see it come back together again!
Working on it! Thanks a mill
Congratulations on the new baby. I feel ya. Mine's now nearly 4 and I'm only now just getting on with outstanding projects.
So tough to get things done. We need a petition to make days longer ;)
That door mechanism is very cool 👌
Thank you!
Congrats of fatherhood! My "baby" is graduating high school (primary) this June.
Congrats to you too!
Huge and hearty congratulations on the arrival of the best project ever!! Great to have you back but you can save us the stop-motion nappy changes… best wishes to you all.
The thought never crossed my mind 😁
Always enjoy your videos, craftsmanship, and creativity. Congratulations on becoming a Dad: the best , most rewarding job ever!
Thank you very much!
I am very excited to see the return of the Lotus. I am highly invested in that car ❤
Yes you are! 😁
the fact he built a shed, to protect himself from the harsh weather, then proceeded to fill the shed with a CNC plasma cutter is somewhat amusing haha
The plasma cutter is all cozy and comfortable inside, while he's struggling with wind and sheity weather outside at 22:10 haha
Well I had to build the shed because I had nowhere for the machine… which lacked an ok workbench sometime 🤣
Pete
Cheers Pete, thanks for sticking around. Congrats on 17 too :)
Love the style and production value in your videos. Glad to see you back.

It’s a lesson in patience and perseverance isn’t it
@@soupclassicmotoring Yep! Nothing in life had prepared me for it ☺️
Now it all becomes clear! Congratulations to you both. Can't wait for the Lotus content to start. 😎
Can't wait! Thanks

Congrats on the baby! Hope everything is doing well on the home front.
Appreciate it!

It’s not smart given I’m already on the back foot for time because of the stop motion. Can’t help it though
Amazing! Macrame i bloody love this channel.😊
The word for it was driving me mad! Thanks
Your videos are seriously inspirational. I really appreciate both the sheer amount of effort, and the places you choose to focus that effort. Videos like this make me want to get off my ass and film some more myself haha

Thanks a mill Morgan
I love your films, thanks for sharing your work.
Thanks for watching! 🤝🏼
Welcome back!!! Haven't even watched yet, so excited
Haha thanks 👍🏼
Even if the rest of the video sucked, that opening track was the bomb! But your videos never suck.
Good to know, thanks
Congrats on becoming a dad its all up hill now lol great job on the door and the patient's you have in making these videos 👍👍
Took too long now that less of my day is available for work, thanks a mill
Another cool video 👍

WELCOME BAACK GEORRRGEH ,missed you mang!!!
Thanks 🤣
I thought the crank plate is just a cloud shape art piece until I realized it had a function. Well played Sir!
Will make me smile every time
Been waiting ages for this video. Yay
It’ll sound like lip service, but me too!
Nice work - I think you'll need some vapour barrier behind that paneling. Warm inside and cold outside = condensation = warped wood. Same principle as a house...
Didn’t you see it going in?
😴I must have looked away..... too many late nights working on the cars. A good excuse.@@soupclassicmotoring

Love this channel
Brilliant

work of art
I was a young man when the Esprit videos first started, looks like I'll be a pensioner before the Esprit will hit the road again...
That’s why I’m going to throw the car back together. Once the rear arms are welded there’ll be no more off piste mods
You love doing the fiddly / challenging bits don't you!
As always love your videos thank you
Thanks for watching!
Love your videos
Amazing work
Thanks a lot 😊
Was watching yt on tv and you popped up on the phone 😊

paint backside of those side bins, they gonna get some moisture

Did you edit the plasma cutting footage so that it was always cutting on the offbeat of the background music? It syncs up so well. What an awesome editing choice. And way to go knowing to emphasize the offbeat.
It’s difficult to pull off, so thanks 😊
AMAZINGNES!!! WOHOOOOOO!!!
That spare space you're putting pocket shelves into... that's where insulation should be on a useable van.
I doubt filling two apertures with 12mm ply wrapped in carpet will render the van unusable
You need a set of steps for getting in and out of the back of the van George...and so do I for my van...one day....one day...
💯 haven’t figured that one out yet, thinking something row bar mounted
Very artistic George. Now get the plastic cheese wedge finished!
Hold my beer
Congratulations on becoming a Dad the van is looking great one question what is the material you used in the side pockets you made

I’ve only ever mentioned it to patrons, before now. Thanks
Impressive work George. I hope you aren’t using any wood on the esprit!
There’s wood in the from the factory you know!
Hi I am sorry if the question is asked already a thousand time, but are the glass pieces from a discovery? Look awesome
Yes! The build starts here - The Mercedes Sprinter File

Thanks for the knowledge! 🤝🏼
