I can't be the only one that thinks the classic van content is awesome! Don't get me wrong the sprinter is a cool build but I just love that old Westy. Happy you kept it. Cheers from Canada
I will admit that I do enjoy the videos with your VW so much more than the Sprinter Van. I know that may sound crazy, but life seems so much more simple with the VW... and of course the smiles that a VW creates are certainly worth the effort. Thanks for sharing!
Being a Volkswagen guy, I also prefer the Vanagon adventures. The Sprinter is a beauty but there's just something more nostalgic when you're doing an adventure in a 30 plus year old, classic VW. Everytime I get in my 1967 VW bug and do my errands, it takes me back to a much simpler, slower pace and time. I always enjoy the cooking parts of your video's. This one was perfect as I remember as a kid in the 1970's camping in the desert east of San Diego. After a day of dune buggies and dirt bikes, The food always tastes better being cooked over a campfire in the desert.
Not goin to lie. I miss seeing you have a small cup of whiskey with your meal. I don't know why, just seemed like it hit different lol. Like hell yeah, you've earned it bro
Taking the "path less traveled" and sharing with us in the most epic way is what you seriously rock at Chad...good to see the Vanagan once again! Keep on truckin'
Great videos Chad! Always wondered if you ever had anything weird happen during all these trips. Being out there alone in the wilderness. Maybe you should make a video on that.
Awesome video as always Chad. I've been following your channel for a while just before you got the Sprinter Van and I'm always mind blown at the quality of the meals you cook over a campfire you should really think about making a cook book or dedicate a second channel just for cooking over a campfire. Thanks for letting us ride along with you on your adventures.
think I like the no music sections. Makes it feel more like I’m in the passenger seat, hearing the wind, engine, etc.❤ Side Note: I grew up in the desert. It’s the solitude and silences. No leaf blowers, no sirens, no honking horns, no human voices. Raw. ❤
I am so incredibly envious of you sir. I would love to do what you do but my health would never allow me to take such adventures. So I live vicariously through your videos.
Hey Chad, you are “the original” inspiration for me considering van life for the best part of my life to come! My first car was a ‘73 type 181 Thing! Have owned 3 VW Rabbits. 2 diesels 1 gas. Have dared to dream about a Westfalia for stupid number of years. I am 60 yrs old with retirement coming up. LOTS to think about! I can smell your VW! Not being weird or creepy. VW’s just have that smell! At least the ones from my era. Bugs, rabbits, vans they all have that VW smell. I have heavily thought about sprinter but cannot escape my lust for diesel westy. OMG. In the end, my friend, we all just want to come home. Is the westy too small?…Yes..and no!! Me and my adopted pitty would be perfectly fine. One gets stuck in this life in the society of predominantly material things. Thank-you so much for your input to me trying to keep my soul pure, VW pure, that is! I expect we might bump into each other some day with you and your palatial sprinter! We will tip a cup my friend. Thx, again! Pyrat169
I think a welcome addition to products you can sell on your van life site would be a Chads Van Life book of recipes. Of course the suggestion of a good shot of classic quality whiskey might even be included
Chad, I’m watching you for years as well and I am so glad to see more videos with your Westfallia as we share the same vehicle. I enjoy the hell out of mine and getting out and enjoying the wilderness. Just give us more of the Vanagon life!
Also hanging on for years now and still love your simple lonely offgrid trips, espcacially secluded from the world in the desert. In my imagination I join you with a glas of wine or whiskey after meal enjoying absolute silence
Wow, that something worth having even if you are not living a van life.we are living in a world where we don’t know what is going to happen to our electric grid. God bless you and be safe.
Wow. Little van that could indeed. I had one with stock suspension and less beefy tires and mine would have given me issues just about any campground without pavement lol.
Outstanding yet again! Nifty knife skills I won’t forget. Above all this time it was how you were able to demonstrate the breathtaking scale of the desert that mesmerised me.
You just vanagone and done it again didn’t you Chad? Beautifully done video as always. My favorite parts are when you chop the wood for the fire and the cooking. Drink and a meal while looking at the stars afterwards is the cherry on the top. Love the channel, please keep them coming.
Dude, I was totally waiting for the night solar system Timelapse shot. You’re killing me … Another awesome video, freaking gotta love that wonder van .
Evening Chad…..superb content as always, every vlog is a professional mini documentary, always in awe of your camera skills and editing…..Thankyou 👍👌🇮🇲
Between me and my ex girlfriend I think we have been through about five different Vanagons. All of them reflect some of the best times I've ever had in my life. Our entire relationship was based on getting on the road! The last one we had was super nice with a Subaru engine conversion and we sold it for $32,000! 😂 talk about a cult following! It's also fun to be driving down the road or even driving down the freeway and you see a Vanagon going the other direction and they have their arm out the window waving at you!
Soooo good. Thank you for the throwback❤ Absolutely love the Vanagon and these adventures. This felt like a continuation of your White Rim Trail video, which has always been my favorite, by far. Amazing skills and talent dude! Keep on Truckin!
Another fun ride along from my chair for me to the desert to the Artic i love riding along and the drone following the view is amazing. Keep up the good work & i'll be waiting for the next one. Safe travels
Chad, all I can say is your videos are the best thing I've ever seen on TH-cam... Hell yeah, bro!! Keep on truckin!! Can't wait for the next one. Safe travels, my man 👍
I took my Westfalia out across the SW dessert like that and got stuck in soft sand. Was trapped three days and eventually dug myself out. Now I’m a lot more cautious
CHAD'S IN THE HOUSE ❤ I get to your videos n I'm always so surprised where you go is so breathtaking n as always Chad your a great cook o got a fireplace n I cook alit at home love to see whats cooking when you cook lol stay warm Keep on Truckin
How grateful are we that he takes us along on his camping adventures. Ive never been camping a day in my life but man he makes it look so amazing. Another great video. Im just curious how you find all these places. That road that curved along was just so beautiful. Until the next adventure.
Hey Chad I am new (like 10 videos in ) but I noticed you say "full time" but you have 2 vehicles and u are in Washington mostly ... Do you live in a van full time like 365 days a year or is it meant like a 40 hr "full time" job. where you leave your home and go out and shoot these videos for a week at a time... just curious because I seem alot of people that say full time & they also live in a house... Anyway you make good videos and have great cinematography skills no matter what the truth is . Cheers
We live in the desert on our own property inside a converted bus. There is something about the solitude of the desert that draws you out here. It's peaceful and beautiful. We live about an hour from Vegas, and when we want to have some fun, there's so many places to go , but it's nice to be able to escape the big city. Damn, that is a nice Bluetti setup. I would love to get the power station. We have a great solar setup, but in the winter, when it rains for several days, we often lose power at night, and I'd love to get a Bluetti like that.
I can't be the only one that thinks the classic van content is awesome! Don't get me wrong the sprinter is a cool build but I just love that old Westy. Happy you kept it. Cheers from Canada

The classic vanagan is back❤️
This makes me want one!

The Vanagon is definitely cool. Like you, I also enjoy getting out in my 67 Beetle.
I'm am proud to know of this man, watch his films, and share the wonderful cinematics with my kid.
Bluetti has some great products, Great to see the Vanagan out again!
Watching your videos is my way of relaxing at the end of a tiring work day. Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos.
Great videos Chad! Always wondered if you ever had anything weird happen during all these trips. Being out there alone in the wilderness. Maybe you should make a video on that.
Simple and perfect! I wish you well! 😊
Gotta love the OG VW trips. And yes, there is something special about the desert in the winter time!
Hey Chad. As usual amazing drone shots.
As a long time follower this is what made your channel what it is today and I miss this Vanagon so much.
The desert is a different kind of beauty. That VW was impressive.
Awesome video as always Chad. Yet another great video. Keep up the beautiful work. We appreciate it.

Chad, your knife-craft skill set is at the next level- there so many details that could be overlooked by us viewers. Thank you!😊
This is a true masterpiece, thank you Chad.
Much love from Virginia. Yes the throwback van!
Around 28:16 is the perfect poster shot. Loved this vid. Cinematography beyond belief especially the drone shots.
Perfect! The reason I started watching is back. 🤙🏻
Wow, that something worth having even if you are not living a van life.we are living in a world where we don’t know what is going to happen to our electric grid. God bless you and be safe.
Love that westy van !!
VW Van is on for another adventure ✌️😎☕
DIGGING THE OLD SCHOOL CHANGE CHAD. WATCHING
Huge respect for, Chad.
Wow. Little van that could indeed. I had one with stock suspension and less beefy tires and mine would have given me issues just about any campground without pavement lol.
20:03 -- Love the fire in the wilderness.
Good to see the old vanagan
Another great one Chad..
Thank you
VW, nice Vehicle! Made in Germany!
Greeting from Germany!
Andy
Chad, can really hate on this ad placement. That power station and the fridge are so freaking cool. I would shoot an ad for that in a heartbeat!
Outstanding yet again! Nifty knife skills I won’t forget. Above all this time it was how you were able to demonstrate the breathtaking scale of the desert that mesmerised me.
Thank you for a very nice video. Bringing back the old van like early days. The food looked good. The scenery was amazing. Take care stay safe.
You just vanagone and done it again didn’t you Chad? Beautifully done video as always. My favorite parts are when you chop the wood for the fire and the cooking. Drink and a meal while looking at the stars afterwards is the cherry on the top. Love the channel, please keep them coming.
Your lil VW is a Beast, great video Chad!
For some reason I enjoy the VW Van so much better! It’s just way cooler. Thanks
New Power Plant is cranking out the Vanagon adventures. Van sounds great and still going strong with the engine transplants.
I remember her. Rough times back then. You made it 😊
I love how you just swap back to the OG Westfalia. It probably makes you appreciate the creature comforts of the Sprinter van, though?
It's good to see the old Van again. I always enjoy your van videos 👌
Dude, I was totally waiting for the night solar system Timelapse shot. You’re killing me …
Another awesome video, freaking gotta love that wonder van .
always amazed by the quality of your footage!
Evening Chad…..superb content as always, every vlog is a professional mini documentary, always in awe of your camera skills and editing…..Thankyou 👍👌🇮🇲
What a spectacular landscape such unusual plants as well.Very cool how the road winds through it like a river Thanks for taken us along
Your old VW is quite the capable little vehicle. As always, safe travels...

Had to get a running start there with that van. 😃 Well done!
Good stuff! Vanagon for the win!!! Stunning scenery! Keep on keeping on Chad!
Soooo good. Thank you for the throwback❤ Absolutely love the Vanagon and these adventures. This felt like a continuation of your White Rim Trail video, which has always been my favorite, by far. Amazing skills and talent dude! Keep on Truckin!

That BLUETTI cooler is a nice unit!
Mate. I own a 89 Syncro 4x4 I fully agree driving it is live. Love this content. Beautiful scenery. Great gadgets. Good on you!
15:55 dang imagine getting that far out and seeing other people. That startled me a little. 🤣🤣
EPIC. I would wanna try this with my 87 Camper but it sure looks like fun! Thank you for the trip.
I took my Westfalia out across the SW dessert like that and got stuck in soft sand. Was trapped three days and eventually dug myself out. Now I’m a lot more cautious
VW all the way! Love your Sprinter videos, but for most of us this kind of rig is more down to earth.
Love the old Vanagon adventures!
Hey Chad, great channel, let’s see more of the Vanagon(T3 Europe )that vehicle has a soul. Terry Spain.
I think that's the only ad I've ever wanted to watch.

Just a phenomenal job, you make it so enjoyable! Thank you!
Merci pour cette agréable vidéo de bonne qualité photographique, à bientôt .
You need TBD in transmission.. good video Chad!
What a WOW landscape!! I wouldn't dare to get 2WD into this place, especially a vintage 30yrs++ bus.
Great content Chad. Your use of camera angles, light and drone are great!
I missed your cooking show hehehe
This guy is simply exciting to follow.
How grateful are we that he takes us along on his camping adventures. Ive never been camping a day in my life but man he makes it look so amazing. Another great video. Im just curious how you find all these places. That road that curved along was just so beautiful. Until the next adventure.
Sweet cooler and sponsor.
Most enjoyable! Great topography and drone work. Plus I loved hearing your commentary and the sound of that Boxeer diesel engine!!
Looks yum yum😊
Great video. I would sure be all over the weather forecast before driving in those flash-flood gullies.
Wow the desert is huge... I had no idea. So desolate. Nothing for miles make me uneasy.
Hey Chad I am new (like 10 videos in ) but I noticed you say "full time" but you have 2 vehicles and u are in Washington mostly ... Holly shit man thats one hell of an epic adventure your puting that Boxeer TDI into 🙌. Big respect brother ❤
The ultimate adventure for you would be to take your VW to the Arctic 😊
Great stuff broham
New technique for making wood shavings!!! Never seen that before but I will use it this weekend in Northern Maine!
We live in the desert on our own property inside a converted bus. There is something about the solitude of the desert that draws you out here. It's peaceful and beautiful. Even enjoyed the ad portion of the video here. Great job as always. Like those sun glasses
I ordered those same glasses
