You got me back in chill mode! Thank you! Hey TH-cam.....pay this man! My recliner just stopped working but it was in the down position. I had zero action at the switch......a green light on the power supply....and everything was plugged in. I just assume that it is the switch and might just order one to give it a shot. But the real help way you mentioning how to release the frame from the mechanism. Once I removed the bolts my chair is on the move again. It now reclines even further and I really dont need the power option. A huge thank you to you sir!!
I inherited a lazyboy with a bad power supply. Watching you video to learn how to diagnose the problem, and I saw this video was uploaded St. Patrick's day 2020. The day Pandemic laid me off from the job I loved and was Employee of the month for. The world works in mysterious ways.
Last night I was unable to put the recliner in my sofa back down. I know it is going to take at least a couple of weeks (if not longer) to get a repair technician here. I also doubt they will have the replacement switch in stock, so we are probably looking at a couple of months before the chair is functional. Your video calmly walked us through detaching the rails so we could at least collapse the recliner. I also used your link to purchase a switch and hope to be able to use it until the new switch comes in. We really appreciate your video AND your expertise! Thanks for doing what you do.
Thank you for doing this. I don't have anyone here to help me and I followed your video and was able to get recliner to work. I knew everything was plugged in and was getting power but it was unplugging and plugging the switch back in that did the trick. I never would have known to try that. Thank you.
Thanks for your elimination approach to identify possible defective components. My recliner simply stopped working when partly reclined. Effectively the rise button did not work, whereas the recline button was OK. The motor would continue to run to extend, but the rise button did not reverse the motor to retract and that indicated to me that the motor was actually OK, until it fully extended. Then it stopped completely. I checked out all of YT’s recliner troubleshoot and ‘fix it’ vlogs and non were able to identify my problem. What they all failed to mention was that within the actuator arm, attached to the motor housing, there are two micro switches that enable the DC current to reverse its polarity and run the motor backwards. By disassembling the actuator arm from the drive motor I was able to reveal the switches, positioned one at each end of the ‘throw’. I was able to see that the start micro switch had jammed itself in the ‘open position’ rendering the retract button inactive. When the linear actuator had reached its full extent the other micro switch is deactivated to stop over running the motor. So to fix this problem it’s first necessary to ensure that both micro switches are cleaned and free to operate properly Ie. switch on and off and then manually rewind the actuator screw back to the start position. In my case I wiped any loose debris from the micro switch buttons and cleaned the traveller, attached to the screw and could hear them click open and close and carefully re-assembled the actuator arm to the motor housing. I suggest photographing the mechanism during the strip process to ensure correct re-assembly, as it’s critical to align the traveller and wiring spacer inside the actuator housing. Also note position and length of the screws holding motor housing together. My problem was solved simply by freeing up a very small micro switch that had jammed open and saved me waiting for £120+ replacement motor and carriage costs from China. Hope my investigation helps someone else with the same symptoms. I’m now trying to source replacement micro switches from Changzhou Kaidi Electrical Company in China. They are relatively inexpensive components used to control the polarity of DC current of the motor making it extend and retract the reclining mechanism, whereas the full motor and linear actuator can be an expensive and time lengthy replacement, dependant upon on type and make.
@@the323vlog4sir where do you get parts for the chair. The motor part of my chair is attached to a bar by plastic and it broke so the motor has nothing to hold. Any help I would appreciate.
@kcorpora1 that will be a part of the motor itself. I’d check with the store where it was purchased first. If no luck there, I’d look up the model of the motor on eBay or online in general and see what pops up. I used to get a few parts from recliner-handles.com
Thank you. Ended up being the connector from the transformer to the dual wiring that ran to the motors had become loose. Everything is working fine now. I'll get the surge protectors before the next storm, just in case. God bless you.
There was a button on the cable between the power converter and the motor. It had a light with it. Somehow that got turned off, and it was not very visible. I could see 29V at the power converter box, but not at the end of the cable. Once the button was pushed, the light by it went on, I now had 29V at the end of the cable, and all worked again. Thank you!
I used to always notice some amount of play on the backs. I would remove it and check the hardware to make sure it has loosened up. There are two bolts on each bracket
Thank YOU so much for sharing your knowledge!! I hope you can help me out here, i have a simple recliner that worked perfect until it didnt some day. When i push the up or down button on the switch the motor works very slowly like in little steps of 1 cm each time then it stops for 3 seconds and another cm. What could it be? When i push the switch, the green light on the power supply box fades to weak but does not go out entirely. Bad power supply? Thanks in advance.. Best regards
I bought modular sofa with power recliners and just came here to see what potential issues would be eventually :). Really good video. Didnt know these existed in TH-cam. Thumbs up for the good work..!!
Any idea if it is the remote if the chair keeps moving on it's own? If you press recline, it does but then it may reverse itself. Or, just sitting in chair it reclines or raises by itself. Thank you for any suggestions you may have.
@@the323vlog4 found an area where the wire was apparently stuck at some point and stripped and then the lift mechanism was bent! Thank you for the reply!
I got a Lazy Boy Loveseat where the leg lift dont always go down. I thought it was the switch so I got one on amazon $15 which looks exactly like the one they tried to sell me for $100 but it still acts the same way. Is it the motor? The box is on. The left side works perfect. Looks very similar to the one in this video.
I have seen where the control on the good side is actually the issue. I would possibly try that. Plug the new one you received into the side that is working and see if it yields any results. Otherwise, I’d say it’s more than likely a motor issue or a wiring issue between the two sides
I looked up for a replacement motor, and I seem to find one that is 28V and the transformer box produces 29V would that be a problem? In general; these are the specs of the stock (dead) one; Max.load:1000N, Stroke:333mm, Rated Voltage:DC 29V. And the new one that I’m about to get, the specs are; Max.load:800N, Stroke:340mm, Input:DC 28V 2.0A. How do all these correlate, and would it be a good fit for it?
I wish I could help you with that question, but honestly, I’m not experienced In the electrical side of things. I will tell you I’ve never had an issue swapping out the transformers, switches or motors even if they were different specs. I would reach out to an electrician and see if they’d be able to provide a little more insight on that specific question though. Thanks!
How about when the green light on power box is flashing what can be the problem? I tried the transformer box on another sofa and it works fine, but not on the bad one thanks
My recliner has a broken piece on the side that actually does the raising and lowering it is a long track like piece that has an almost white corkscrew-like piece that was grinding and clicking then broke. Can you identify the part and tell me if it is replaceable? Thanks.

I have obtained a Gibson power headrest dual motor power lift chair (model 121841) that has no remote to operate it. How do I go about getting a remote for it? Badcock (where it was purchased) has closed their stores so that is not an option in to obtaining one from them? Any advice.
I have a ManWah power recliner that was purchased from Furniture Row about ten years ago. The chair is still in excellent condition, but the recliner quit working about a week ago. I contacted the store, and they recommended ordering a switch via Amazon and I did that. With the new switch, the chair still doesn't work. I have a green light on the power supply, so I am assuming the next step is motor assembly. I called Furniture Row again and they said they can get a motor assembly from the factory, but again, Amazon or Ebay will be much quicker. I have found the OKIN Refined part number JLDQ-11 on the motor assembly and its about $100. Should ordering to that part number get me a motor, with drive assembly, that fits? Still nervous.
Yeah, if it’s the same model numbers it SHOULD fit and work. Great thing about Amazon is being able to return it if it doesn’t work . Did you make sure all connections were secure?
This video helped me isolate the problem to the control panel, and then I found a small button on the control panel (while taking it off) which was turning the recliner function on or off. Thank you!
Video was super helpful..thank you!!...problem is I have a West Elm reclining sofa and the manufacturer info is not known...How would I get replacement parts for the unit?
What kind of part were you needing? Do you know yet? I use recliner-handles.com for a lot of parts. If it’s something as generic as the power transformer boxes or power switches, the generic ones on Amazon should work fine
@@the323vlog4 Not sure yet, but curious how I determine what motor and transformer I would need for West Elm stuff ...I think its made in China but I can't find out and West Elm customer service won't tell me who manufactured it...its less than 14 months old...ugh

Hi, I have an RMT Ramacro motor, model R811A on my recliner. There is a piece on the motor with 4 screws holding it on. This piece connects to a round bar with a pin that can be pulled out. The part coming from the motor has 2 plastic, round disc's that shattered. it did not hold the weight of the person. Do they make a reinforced metal part? Tough to describe, so I hope it wasn't too confusing..
One of the recliners on my love seat stopped working. Where can I order a switch to see if that's the problem? Mine looks like the one you were showing.
Great information but so far I can’t find anything that saves my problem. Hopefully you have a suggestion. When the recliner is reclined, the c Back creeps back up to the straight up position . The footrest stays up. It’s just the back that won’t stay reclined. Any suggestions for repair would be great. Thank you
In would check the mechanism and see if there are springs that control that function. If you could replace those springs with ones with less tension that could potentially help. Just a thought
Not specifically. It could be a foam padding issue, or more likely a bent mechanism issue. I would flip it over and inspect the mechanism and see if you can find any obvious signs of leaning.
@@the323vlog4 no. My son was climbing on top of the recliner and then later o saw the power head rest moved up and stuck. The button for moving the power head is making a click sound but it's not moving.
Not sure if my power recliner can be repaired. Can you tell me ... I heard a loud pop in the seat of my recliner, tiled chair up to look underneath after it would not go back down and the support bar in the middle is broken in half. it is the part that is between the two arm looking pieces that are attached to the middle long piece that is aligned w the motor. Hope that makes sence. I can email you a pic of it if needed. thanks so much, Ihave watched a nuber of your videos but have not seen this problem mentioned.
Hi. I have a 3 switch power recliner, 1 for the headrest, 2 for the legs, and the 3rd switch puts both parts into its original position. The leg rest was in an upright position and someone forced its closure (assuming this person thought it was a typical manual recliner). Now the leg rest is closed and will not open when the button is pressed. The other button for the headrest works just fine. Any advice for that? Greatly appreciate it.
I suppose it could be a few things. When pushing the button for the footrest, can you hear the motor working? I would try to operate it while inspecting the mechanism area and see if anything is moving. I would also inspect the mechanism and see if it was damaged on the process of the forcing shut. Hole this helps get you started
I have two berkline recliners which are 10 + years old. They were rarely used until I moved. One works and has a power control box, the other chair has a smaller control box without a plug cord. I vaguely remember connecting the chair with the larger box which has a plug in chord to the recliner that is not functioning. Could this be possible, or do I need another power box with a plug in chord.
The power transformers are usually interchangeable, but for the price I would recommend getting one decorated for each, making sure it supplies enough power to handle the motor for that specific unit. The motors typically say on them how much power they draw. From there, just look at the specs on the transformers and make sure it meets those requirements.
My chair just stopped functioning. I have re-seated all of the wired connections. Tested another plug, the two button switch when either button is bushed motor turns on and sounds, no motion (switch has integrated USB and that functions as well. Seems to be something internally with Linear Actuator. Any suggestions?
I was actually able to figure it out. I removed the linear actuator and carefully opened it up and discovered that the motor spindle was not aligned with the jack screw, once I re-aligned it and tightened the set screw at the end it started working again. Thank you for your content, which helped me out
What is typically the issue if the power supply blinks slowly when pluged in to the sofa, nut is a strong solid green when unplugged? Already checked all the cables for damage and made sure no USBs were plugged in to it. Any ideas? Maybe the switches?
THANKS, THANKS, THANKS Boon Light. One and only video that helped. I was able to take the 4 screws off and get my twin recliner 3 seat sofa/recliner UPRIGHT! Whew!. After bringing it down I pushed the buttons and I see only the up position moved a bit. As suggested, used another switch from amazon and checked both sides. the new switch works on the other side. So I know it is not the switch. After unscrewing the 4 screws, the moved slightly in up direction and reached the edge. So the conclusion is mine moves in 1 direction, and that is up. A single power adapter runs both the sides. I also tested by switching the connections to either side and the left side still did not work but the right side (working side) continued to work. My Vendor ( Rooms-to-go ), said they had no info on my parts. So I am on my own. After the screws were off, I was able to get the motor/unit part number "Okin Refined-R Model: JLDQ-11 JLDQ 11.156.333D", and the JLDQ 11.156.333K (available on Amazon ) can work I have read. The motor specs, length and other details matchup. Please let me know if I need be aware of or must do to troubleshoot before I go get the part. Anything I need to be concerned before I go buy the replacement unit. THANKS!
It sounds like you have done your due diligence in locating the problem! Please email me because I think I have a motor that can work for you. If you did want to go to Amazon route, the great news is they have a great return policy just in case that is not the issue, but it sounds like it is.our email is The323concept@yahoo.com
Thanks for the video. I have a power recliner that also has a button to adjust the position of your head. When I am putting the chair in the down position, 90% of the time it stops going down in the same spot. At that time neither button works. If I wait 15 seconds then they work again. When this happens the power transformer light is still green. Any ideas?
I have another question. What tells the actuator to stop at either end of travel (up and/or down). What prevents the actuator from traveling too far forward or back and breaking the mechanism?
Our power chair (babyletto) stopped reclining. With the inner chair connectors unplugged the power light is green on the box, once I connect the inner chair cable the light goes out on the power box. You mention faulty cable but what else can it be? Can the motor be bad? Chair is basically brand new and was working fine..
Hi I have a manual recliner single sofa and would like to know it I could convert it to a motorized recliner. If yes do you know how, and were I could get the kit.
Theoretically it’s possible but it’s a lot of work and requires some professional tools. It would require drilling out the drive tube to accept motor brackets. An angle iron usually goes around the drive tube for stability. The motor brackets and motor. One of these days I’ll do a video on one to show how extensive the process is.
I installed a new actuator. The chair went almost to the down limit and stopped. It would not move up nor down. I unbolted the mechanism from the actuator and the actuator functioned in both directions. Bolted it together again and went up to almost the limit and it stopped. Again, would not go up or down until I wiggled the footpad quite hard. Went to just before the down limit and stopped. Repeated the whole thing a second time, used silicon lube on every joint in the mechanism, and still the same. What could be the problem?
My power recliner is only 1-1/2 yrs old. When I use the hand control it was sometimes not responding, wait a bit then it did work. But now it only lifts the footrest up and down; if I try to recline the back it stops working. We’ve put the chair on its side, unplugged then replugged the hand controller to get the chair closed and we can see the motor seems to stop at the same location every time, 3/4 of the way back on the rail. We checked power supply, wires and connectors all look good. What should I replace hand controller or motor.
I typically have a spare hand Controller that o always try first , because it’s usually the issue 90% of the time, but it is definitely possible for the motor to have issues as well. I would definitely start with the hand control though. If you have another power recliner in the home, you could potentially borrow the hand control to help diagnose the issue.
Hello, I have a chaise lounge electric recline, all the functions working good but when im sitting in the chair it slowly reclines by itself. the company isnt willing to offer any help because it is out of the warranty. would you know what i can do to fix this?
Sounds to me like there may be a short or something in the power switch since that’s the only way it could raise up or down . That’s where I would start
Hello. My power recliner makes a loud "clunking" noise halfway up, when the back starts to recline. If I lean forward, or recline it without sitting in it, no noise occurs. I've looked at the mechanism underneath and removed the back, but can't seem to find anything obvious. This recliner is probably 10 years old or more, so I presume something is worn out, but I can't find it. Any ideas? Thanks so much for your great videos.
Yeah, it sounds like with the added pressure the mechanism may be hitting itself somewhere in the motion. I’d try to have someone sit in it while another person inspects with a flashlight underneath.
@@the323vlog4 yes! I saw that. Looks like I can just swap it out easily. I have the part ordered. Thanks for your excellent customer service!! This is how a TH-cam channel is supposed to work!

Our sofa wasn't surge protected and a storm came through and we had a power surge, do you have any advice in what to check for? Also our power transformer doesn't have any indicator light which is really frustrating is there some other way to know if it's getting power?
I have a discontinued Ashley recliner that the parts are no longer available. Model 5650413 A six button panel. The buttons that control the back and foot are not working. Can you help
I'm wondering if these are grounded properly as we've seen an increase of hardly any shocks from our old non-powered furniture to multiple shocks once receiving our new powered units.
can you unplug the switch and install a remote control ? i'm having a shoujlder replacvement and the switch that moves the chair is on the side that i will have operated on. i'm hoping i can plug a remote control in so i can easily control it? is that possible? this looks very similar to my type of chair.....i tried to remove the plug that goes from motor to the switch as you demonstrate in the video but it did not seem to want to be removed and i was afraid to force it.
Hello man, nice tips and walkthrough, I need your help. The frame and everything looks good but my recliner wont work. Whenever I press the switch buttons (either of them) the green light on the adapter stops and starts to light again if I release the button. Hope you understand what I'm trying to tell. Please help me out!!!!!!
It sounds like you have a short in the switch. I would recommend getting a new switch, plug it in before installing it all through the arm and test it out. That is the cheapest and simplest solution. I recommend checking on Amazon just in case you need to return it
I have had a power recliner for about 7 or 8 years. Yesterday the chair started making a horrible grinding sound when trying to raise the foot rest. I flipped the chair over and the white plastic part that is on the track attached to the motor was snapped in half. Is there anyway to replace just that plastic part or would i need a whole new motor mechanism?
You may be able to buy or fabricate some parts of your chair mechanism (the metal frame) online. I found metal drive rod part of the mechanism and plastic bushings online.
First thing like you said we checked the power cord and box. They both work. The green light comes on. However, as soon as we connect the chair to the box the green light goes off. We swapped the power box and cable with a working recliner and the same thing happens. Not sure where to go from here?
It sounds like a short in the switch or motor. I’d start with a switch since they’re much cheaper. I’d obviously rule out that the wiring isn’t damage either
Thank you so much! Using your video and feedback I fixed the recliner. Ended up being the switch. Bought a $14 universal switch and saved myself hundreds of dollars from either buying a new one or overpaying someone to fix it. Thank you again for reading your comments and responding!
Mine is an Abbyson power recliner from Costco. Before I order a power switch to test it, my buttons for the headrest headrest functions fine. The one to raise the chair or lower the chair do not function. The fact that one of the switches works and one doesn't, possibly is the motor? Will I be wasting my time getting a power switch to test it?
I have seen it go both ways before. due to the drastic price difference, I always advise starting off with the switch. If you use a source like Amazon, returns are always an option if it doesn’t resolve the issue
My Okin Deltadrive lift recliner lifts fine, seats fine, legrest extends, but back does not recline. In my research, I'm thinking a broken plastic spindle nut for the actuator. Prices have ranged online from $1 USD to $40 USD for a plastic nut, and no metal ones available (like there are for the forkend that my brother replaced). I found confusing printed instructions, but no videos on how to replace the nut. Right now, I just sit in it upright with my legs extended (not the best nap position...;-)) Anybody know of any videos on "non-reclining" recliners?
I would draw the conclusion there is a short somewhere past the transformer. Could be a pinched wire, a faulty switch or even a faulty motor. I would inspect items in that order
Where can you go to get the parts for your furniture if the manufacturer says that they no longer make them. We have Ashley furniture couch And love Seat that need the undercarriage work done.. We don't know what to do
That is usually a sign that the mechanism is bent and catching on itself somewhere. The best way to identify that is have someone sit in the chair and recline it over and over and over again while a secondary person is shining a flashlight down at the mechanism and trying to pinpoint where it is catching. You can also flip the recliner on its front end and just inspect the mechanism looking for any abnormalities such as crookedness
Do you know if there is a way to shut off just the "lift" part of a lift chair operation so that it just power recliner. The lift chair is not safe for the confused adult to lift all the way up and may get dumped out on the floor.
What about the type of switch that looks more like a lever (going up or down to power the recliner) that would likely be located as one of the inner pieces of a sectional
Great video and explanation, thanks. I've got a rising recliner, and the mechanism looks near identical to that shown in this video. It raises and returns to a seating position without any issues. But when trying to recline, the footrest will start to lift, but then stop and the motor can be heard humming/struggling while the button remains pressed. Pressing the other button, it pulls the foot rest back in fine and raises the chair without issue. It's quite random how far the foot rest lifts before it seemingly gets stuck, and applying continuous backwards pressure to the back of the chair will allow it to continue to recline. My initial thought was that something must be causing resistance to the mechanism. To the extent that the motor cannot push the footrest up. But I cannot see anything that would be causing this, and would assume that such resistance would have to be quite high. Given the motor is still able to lift a person when rising. I've tried all the usual things with the wire connections, outlet, transformer, etc... But am yet to find a fix or even a cause. Any ideas would be appreciated 👍
my thought is that it is the motor. A lot of the times there is a thread rotating in there and it may be jammed. That’s my guess, but hard to diagnose without seeing it
@@the323vlog4 thanks for the reply/suggestion. Being a total novice, I just assumed the motor must be fine because it's able to raise and lower the chair no problem. But has the aforementioned issue only when engaging the mechanism that lifts the footrest. It certainly can't hurt to strip it down and have a look. And a new motor is definitely cheaper than a new chair. Thanks again for trying to help out 👍
I have a power sofa in which one of the brackets broke on one side, causing it to go all lopsided when I try to recline it. Is there any way that I can remove this piece and have somebody weld it?

I have a power recliner that stopped working The video was helpful but, I have a problem that I can't find and answer to. The cord from the wall to the power box works fine and the green light is on. However, everytime I attach it to the chair, the green light goes out on the power box and no power to the chair. I've tried new cables and power box with the same result. If I find a kink in the power linesto the motor can I cut them and splice them? Thanks
It sounds like you have a short somewhere tripping the transformer box. I would start with diagnosing the cheapest parts and that’s the switch and the transformer. You could purchase a New or if you have another unit in the house you could pull from it to diagnose since you know it’s working.
I just purchased the adapter, light is green and not working...not an old chair but how to know if I need to replace motor or switch? Thank you in attic you can help...
It is more than likely the power switch. They are the most common issue. Is it a sofa? if so, you can use the power switch from the other side that is working and plug it into the side that is not working to test it. If you'd rather not go through the trouble, they are very cheap to order through the link I provided and would arrive in a few days for you to use to troubleshoot with.
Our power lift chair made a “clunk” sound a couple different times recently. And now it sporadically works… footrest goes up, not down…both work, neither works, the footrest goes down on its own when you’re using it and expecting it to be stationary. Motor makes a working sound but it doesn’t always move the chair. I can manually move the footrest up or down as I press the control button so no one’s been stuck, yet. Ideas? Thx. So much.

Hello. Thank you for your video. The motor mechanism is scraping against the frame causing a clicking noise when my chair reclines and returns to the upright position. How can I adjust the chair to correct this?
I have had success adding a few washers between the mechanism and the metal frame that attaches to. It should be several bolts attaching the mechanism to the metal frame and I usually add some washers in between the two to raise the mechanism up just slightly. If the mechanism is bending in word catching on itself, sometimes I use a 2 pound hammer to straighten it out
I have a KD linear actuator where the blue and red wires pulled out thereby shutting down the operation. Does anyone out there know how to reconnect these wires to bring the operation back ?????? Thank you for your replies!!! Frank
I would recommend replacing the entire actuator for safety reasons, but the actuator does come off and the plastic housing is removable by removing the small screws if you’d like to inspect the connection.
Great video! I can see where the rear frame caught the back of the motor track where the wires go into the motor. I have repaired the wires and it works but it lightly touches the area with no one on the couch. (End of a sectional) if someone sits on it the frame hits this hard and will pul the wires apart. It seems as if the chair is sagging too low. Any ideas on how to adjust it up away from the motor?
There should be four bolts that connect the mechanism frame to a separate metal frame that connects all the pieces together. I used to shim it up using washers between those two metal frame pieces. Sometimes a larger bolt was necessary

I knew everything was plugged in and was getting power but it was unplugging and plugging the switch back in that did the trick. I never would have known to try that. Thank you.
Thank you so much for watching! We really appreciate the feedback
The only video I could find to explain how to get the damn thing to collapse if the motor fails. Thank you.
No problem! Glad it was helpful
Thank you for your experience and expertise in the matter! I’m sure it will be helpful to several folks.
I think that's my problem. Occasionally my footrest won't go up but it will always go down.

I have an Ashley power recliner that functions, but the foot rest does not extend fully. Do you have a video for that?
I don’t have one yet. Does it make any weird sounds like something might be catching or binding ?
I looked up for a replacement motor, and I seem to find one that is 28V and the transformer box produces 29V would that be a problem? In general; these are the specs of the stock (dead) one; Max.load:1000N,
Stroke:333mm, Rated Voltage:DC 29V.

Hi. I have a 3 switch power recliner, 1 for the headrest, 2 for the legs, and the 3rd switch puts both parts into its original position.
Is there another recliner with a linear actuator you could use in the home to diagnose it?
I was actually able to figure it out. Thank you for your content, which helped me out

My sofa goes up but won't come back down. How do I check and what should I look for. Thank you in advance for your help.
I’d be willing to bet the brackets that attach to the actuator MIGHT be on incorrectly . Hard to tell without seeing it
Thanks for the tip. I have 2 chairs, so I'll look at the second one to see how the brackets are connected.

What if when I contact the sofa to the transfer I lose the green light. I have the light if the small plug from the sofa is not connected.
We don't know what to do
Is it a reclining mechanism or springs that you’re looking for?
My husbands power recliner makes a loud clunk when reclining, not on the way back up, any ideas what it could be?
That is usually a sign that the mechanism is bent and catching on itself somewhere. The best way to identify that is have someone sit in the chair and recline it over and over and over again while a secondary person is shining a flashlight down at the mechanism and trying to pinpoint where it is catching. You can also flip the recliner on its front end and just inspect the mechanism looking for any abnormalities such as crookedness
Power light on change the switch with anew one still does not recline what's the next procedure to get it to work. Thanks you
If no other wiring is damaged or unplugged it would be a motor issue? Is it a sofa where you could pull a good motor to help troubleshoot ?
Will try that thanks again for help.🙂
Very helpful fixed my own chair 🙏🏽
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching
Do you know if there is a way to shut off just the "lift" part of a lift chair operation so that it just power recliner. The lift chair is not safe for the confused adult to lift all the way up and may get dumped out on the floor.
Not that I’m aware of. I would look underneath and see if there’s a separate motor or wire, but if I remember correctly it’s all one.
What about the type of switch that looks more like a lever (going up or down to power the recliner) that would likely be located as one of the inner pieces of a sectional
Do you mind sending a picture of it? The323concept@yahoo.com
Thanks again for trying to help out 👍
Hiya
Did your solution work? I'm having the same issue. Also my power box keeping flashing green
@@blackgown7485 I found a cheap replacement motor on eBay. Has worded fine since. 👍
I have a power sofa in which one of the brackets broke on one side, causing it to go all lopsided when I try to recline it.
Is there any way that I can remove this piece and have somebody weld it?
Sounds very possible. Are you able to send me some pictures of the broken piece so I can take a look at it for you? You can send it to my email at the323concept@yahoo.com

Thanks for the quick reply i'll check it out
@@karenpegan2977 you’re welcome! Good luck and let me know how it goes.
@@the323vlog4 no, it’s a recliner. Switch seems cheapest to buy instead of new motor. Thank you for your assistance !
@@MammeJ my sentiments exactly. You’re welcome
Ty I fixed my dad’s electric lay z boy. Cheers
Glad it helped!
Ideas? Thx. So much.
Are used to see the motors break on those pretty frequently. I will inspect around the motor to see if something looks broken.
@@the323vlog4 Was told it would cost almost as much as a new lift chair to fix… of course, was talking w furniture company that sold me the chair but don’t know who else to contact for repair info.
@@KSA-hs6fj we’re they able to determine what the issue was that needed repairing?
My problem is the leg part it doesn't want to work it stays up and the other parts work except the leg part I can still let it down but it goes up by itself if I put pressure on the leg rest but if I release it the leg rest goes up by itself. What can I do to fix it. Or use the leg rest manually.
Sounds like an issue with the switch. I’d try unplugging it to see.
Where can i order a socket box for the Home cinema chair please
Can you send me a picture of the one you have? You can send it to our email at the323concept@yahoo.com
the white plastic bit on mine snapped when brother kept leaning on the back while i was reclined in it
I believe those are called bushings. I’d check eBay
my chair is a power chair but its not the power thats not working. some thing broke that looks like a bolts that uses a retaining clip to hold it in place. It must be mechanical because it has power. Can you give me any ideas on what this is. Thank you.
Feel free to send us images of the broken piece so we can try to identify it for you. You can email us at the323concept@yahoo.com
