This video on Australian doctor salaries and expenses is eye-opening! It's crucial for medical professionals to have a clear understanding of their earning potential and expenses. The detailed breakdown of salaries and typical expenses provides valuable insights for both aspiring and practicing doctors. Thank you for shedding light on this important topic!
Your videos are always concise, to the point and relevant, especially for IMG doctors! It provides those of us still overseas with valuable insights into what we can expect when we finally start working as doctors in Australia. Thank you for that.

I think plab has more jobs at junior level and better short term and Australia is better salary life style and good long term. More IMGs are coming at a junior level

Like I said before ,it is the same thing ,30 - 40 years ago , you take the plan exams 300candidates , passing it 11% ,which mean you have to be in that 11 peoples, you are saying salaries ,£80 to £100 ,000 that is when you have done your training for 5 years and another 5 years , working and getting your experience.
Total salary for fy2 /pgy2(before taxes): 7250 AU$ (87,000 AU$ per year) Rent :2500 AU$ (for a couple with 2 kids) Groceries : 900 AU$ Utility bills : 350 AU$ (includes gas, electricity, water, phone, wifi) Medical insurance for 2 : 1000 AU$ (not for PR and citizens. Assuming img as without PR) Medicare Levy 2%: 1750 AU$ Personal grooming, Council tax, Public transport and other miscellaneous charges: 1000 AU$ Income tax on salary: 1550 AU$ (18742 AU$ per year) Total expenses per month: 9050 AU$ Savings per month: 7250(salary)- 9050(total expenses inc tax) = minus 1800 AU$ So this means, a PGY2 doctor on a basic work schedule, and his unemployed wife can save nothing in Australia? (negative savings) UK and Ireland seems better than this..
Temporary residents don’t pay 2% Medicare levy and 7000-7500 is take home post tax salary as I said in the video. I have been a resident medical officer in Australia and SHO the UK and my saving were substantially better than in the UK.
