Wow! At this point in August 1966 they had about two weeks left on the tour and they would never tour again. By their mid twenties they had reached a pinnacle that few others, if any, in the history of mankind have ever reached.

The house he talks about owning in London -- he still owns it - and still uses it or resides in it when in London - which is amazing after 56 years later -- of course he has a number of homes around the world as well -- God bless him that in 2022 he is still recording and doing concert performances - a true miracle man!

They had just released Revolver, and he was already talking about a new album for Christmas! They had done it in 1963, 1964 and 1965, but it wasn't to be in 1966, because they needed more time to follow up Revolver. 10 months in fact.

Interesting to hear that they had planned to get an album out by Christmas ‘66. I wonder at what point they realised that the next record would a whole different thing to what they did before.

He probably was thinking of a single rather than an album out by Christmas. They were all pretty busy with their individual projects late ‘66 and the start of those classic psychedelic records began about a month prior to Christmas. Good for them to push back against that crazy deadline. Not enough time to create the masterpieces of Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane and the Pepper album tracks.

Isnt it strange Paul says nothing about stopping touring ?Yet two months later Brian annouces an end to the Beatles tours along with saying nothing has happened to Paul. Then in November Billy makes his appearance .Very tragic Paul didnt have the send off and recognition he deserved.

To all you PID Believers, watch the "James Paul McCartney" TV special 1973, (here on TH-cam for everyone to see) at the 20 minutes mark there's a McCartney family get together in a Liverpool pub, they're all getting pissed (drunk) calling him Paul singing along with him and showering him with kisses! Now how is it that his Dad, aunties, uncles and cousins, can not see it's not their Paul the one they have grown up with, the one they have always known, but he's in fact an imposter named Billy! Come PID Believers please explain it

There are of course 3:12 pictures of Paul with his family soon after they claimed he «died». There is for instance a close picture of Paul with his father in Liverpool from 1967. Both are smiling and Paul is holding his arms around his happylooking dad. No need to say more.

    • @melodymusik261

Whose family is it exactly? And if the MI6 told them to call him Paul from then on, they WOULD do so to avoid high risk of consequences - that includes JPM'S own family. Why wasn't ANY family at his wedding, namely his dad? Why didn't he attend his dad's funeral instead of being across the universe partying after a concert? Why do people behind the curtain call him "William" and "Billy?" We'll wait...

@@melodymusik261 you obviously know nothing about McCartney's family! Are you from the USA? Because we know who the family are here on Merseyside, there's been quite a few McCartney family get togethers over the years Mike McCartney first wedding in 1968, when Paul was best man Mike McCartneys second wedding 1982 were Paul was best man again! (go and check out the photos) McCartney's wedding wasn't in church it was at a Registry Office! (but Mike McCartney was of course there) McCartney didn't attend his father's funeral because Jim McCartneys wife asked him not to she said she didn't want it to turn into a Circus and who can't blame her! Here's another video you can check out "Paul McCartney Liverpool 1979" nobody calls Paul McCartney William or Billy you have been misled

1966 was pretty much at the point where they the Beatles are shifting from being teenage popstars to picking up a whole new audience. They drop the old audience who went with bands that we go with bands like the monkees etc. That’s the sign of a maturing music scene.

Paul knew they were going to stop touring by this point. He admitted here that they were not very good on stage and it was true. The Beatles live performances in 66 were not as tight as in 63 and 64. He also mentioned that the group wanted to concentrate on recording. They were all basically sick of touring by then.
