    1. Any references to “Faul” are removed. That conspiracy theory was disproven long ago by a concept known as “reality.”
    • Paul Is Not Dead: Head...
    2. This video was edited for time, and does not include the debatable anti Semitic discussion with John. Find it somewhere else on the Internet.
Enjoy the mop tops at peak fab.
The Beatles gave this L.A. 1966 press conference at the Capitol Records Tower, Los Angeles on August 28th, 1966, before their Dodger Stadium show.
The press ask Lennon questions about his recent "Bigger than Jesus" remarks. A condescending reporter takes a shot at Ringo while the cameraman can't tell Ringo from John.
David Crosby, who at the time was a member of The Byrds, can occasionally be spotted in the film. Crosby means there's an excellent chance they were high on marijuana at the time.
Later presented with steak branding irons (huh?) and gold records from RIAA for Revolver. Closeups show Brian Epstein lecturing John and Ringo. Later Interviewed by a Dick Clark stand-in, the announcer from the L.A. TV show "Where the Action Is." George is in a whimsical mood, and Paul makes a pun with the name of the TV program.
Following this interview the Beatles returned to the tour with their penultimate--second to last-- performance at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
I was there! It was an incredible show...
The next day, the group would close out their 1966 tour with their historic finale at Candlestick Park in San Fransisco - their last-ever concert.
In the coming years, while there would be no more touring, the Beatles would focus on creativity in the recording studio, producing some of the finest albums of their catalogue.

I have a friend who met John and Yoko outside the Dakota a few months before John Lennon’s death. He says that John could not have been nicer. My friend said, “ Thanks for the music and good luck in the new album.” John took time to talk with my friend and a young woman, a fan and nurse also waiting to meet them. I know OF a woman who delivered flowers to John in a hotel room in NYC. Again, very pleasant. She spent several hours there. I have read other reports of how grateful John acted toward fans. Read that when fans were writing on his Rolls Royce with lipstick, he said, “ Leave them alone. They paid for it.” I think John was a very appreciative person when it came to his fans.

Exactly. You can see how he changed from interviews at 64, 65, when being happy and joking...enjoying himself. 66 he's unhappy and fed up with being attact. And he never said anything bad about Jesus or people who believe. He only noted they reached out to so many people all over the world. That's what he talked about. They misunderstood him completely.

Amazing to see this after so many years! My friend and I presented the Beatles with the gifts after Dick Clark arranged for us to get seats right up front. We wanted to give them something from Texas (our home state) and branding irons in a Los Angeles gift shop was the closest thing we got to. We got the black hats around the same time so we would be recognizable by Mr. Clark's staff to present our gifts. Luckily it was George who motioned for us to come forward and we eagerly yet shyly walked forward. At the time I couldn't possibly foresee the impact the band we loved and adored would have on the world. Thank you so much for posting this video.

I was a big fan who saw them 2x (1965 & 1966) and can shed some light on this. They were tired and weary of press conferences like this. They were asked the same stupid questions over and over and over again. Can you imagine how awful their lives were on tour? They were jostled from one place to another, planes, limos, hotel rooms, people pushing and trying to pull off pieces of their clothing, even clip hunks of their hair. They never got to really see anything in any of the cities they were in. They were prisoners in their hotel rooms. Oftentimes being rushed from one place to another no one thought of asking them if they’d eaten on not. Many times they hadn’t, and would eagerly devour whatever food was put in front of them. In Manila, they were tired & chose to not go to a party the dictator’s wife Imelda Marcos had prepared for them. Because of that, they were punched and kicked by police and guards, even had to perform on a stage with faulty electricity. It was damp and wet and they could’ve been electrocuted. They got no police escort or guards on their way to their plane to leave. They all said later they were terrified and feared for their lives. That happened shortly before this interview. You’ll hear George refer to it. Not one of you reading this who wasn’t alive then can possibly imagine how famous they were. Their very last public concert was at Candlestick Park in SF. After years of this they’d had enough and decided to never appear in public again. I was crushed, because I had seen them a week before this on 8/12/66 in Chicago. I remember crying because I’d never see them again. That autumn they announced their decision to stop touring.

    • @billpaul6675

I was around then too. It was heartbreaking when they stopped touring. And then we got Sgt. Pepper's... and the White Album... and Let It Be and Abbey Road. Man, those guys knew how to use a studio., with a ton of help from Sir George Martin. We will never see anything like the Beatles again, at least not in what's left of my lifetime.
