I bought my 2006 CHEVY 2500 LBZ in June 0f 2006....18 Years later I still love it. SS fuel lines, SS brake lines and a Kryptonite front end. BEST TRUCK EVER!

Right here👋👋
Right here, I only got a couple...
Just got one Saturday
Got 400k on mine
Congrats on Cat Eye LBZ. I freaking love my 06 GMC LBZ searched for a year to find one in good shape and low miles. Such a comfortable good pulling truck without all the emissions crap.
I've got a 2007 GMC Sierra 3500 LBZ CCLB dually w/ 312,000 miles and get offers everyday! Other than water pumps and interior dash lights going out....ZERO problems!
Bought mine in 2017. Watched car adds daily. Mine came on the market at a dealer. Drove to the dealer took one look at the truck and said I’ll take it. Salesman informed me it’s a good thing I did because someone else was on their way to purchase and other customer was on the phone wanting to make the purchase. Never regretted my purchase. Have used mine to pull my 12k lbs work trucks out of the mud....saved on towing cost. At 250k looking forward to 500k.
2006 LBZ 3500 with 281k miles. Still pulling strong. Towed 12k lbs from the Hill Country to South Texas in Scorching heat for 5 hrs in the am then 5 hrs back to the yard in the pm. Temp outside reached a high of 108°(low of 94°) and it had to be at or near 100% humidity. She loved every minute of that pull. A/C blew ICE cold. Best Truck Ive ever had. Ill never sell her. My Children are youngsters but already fighting for her.
I have my '06 LBZ with 121K miles love the truck! My friends have 2016-2021 Duramaxs & Ram cummins trucks 5 of the 7 have taken their trucks back to dealership because electrical issues & one cummins with broken trans. No issues with my LBZ just simple maintenance!
I have an LLY I bought brand new and still going strong.
mines got 380k miles, runs like a dream
@@hadenharper3641 really cause I’m thinking of buying one with 200k miles. Have it treated you well?
4th gen cummins w/the aisin for the win!!
The lly also had a restrictive turbo mouth piece. One of my really good friend changed out his mouthpiece with a s&b and it helped with the over heating issue and let the turbo breath. I own an LBZ GMC with 328,000 and it still puts me back in my seat and I plan on keeping it until even when the motor blows and put a new one in it.
still rockin an 03 single cab lb7 with stock injectors!
I love my LBZ. 310k miles and absolutely NO issues. I use it for hauling gravel and equipment, but still can clean it up and take it to shows
Did you delete the egr?
@@stn7172 No. All mechanically stock besides a tune and exhaust
Thanks for the feature! Can’t wait to get back to the states to drive her again! LBZ best diesel ever!
Love your videos @itzhamm I just bought a lb7 with 155k on it
It is till u need to tow something..
@@reaganriddle My 07 LBZ towed trailers for 10 years until I retired her from the business last year. What are you smoking?
@@keepingitsimple4740 all I’m saying is go to a rodeo and see what they pull trailers with, it’s all ford and sometimes dodge.
@@reaganriddle A rodeo in your little bubble? Go to a Home Depot or a Lowes and see how many Chevy trucks are parked there. I have horses, as do some of our friends and neighbors. You should tell them to sell their Chevy trucks before they haul their horses to the next show. SMH
I have a 2006 LBZ , first diesel I’ve ever owned. Seems like a good truck with 245k
Just bought a 06 chevy lbz off my grandpa. Living in alberta we as well deal with a lot of rust🙄 But this bad boy only has 107 thousand kms and no rust. Already ordered a 4.5 lift and a bunch of other goodies!
Better be off customoffsets.com
Good for you my guy
Billy Joe I live in Canada so sadly I did not order the stuff from custom offsets as the shipping is very expensive to get all that stuff here
They aren’t terrible for rust hear in Alberta my buddy’s dad gave him his old lbz but lucky him they lived in Texas for a while and it’s got no rust
I have a 2007 LBZ in Calgary with 201k km that I've owned since new, make sure you check the rockers and cab corners diligently. Mine seemed fine until the cab corner rotted out at the bottom from the inside. Wish I used fluid film all those years.
Lbz and lb7 are the best. I personally own an lb7 and absolutely love it.
just bought my dream truck CCLB LBZ LT Duramax. bought it 247k miles for $12,500. frame is so clean. i get compliments on how clean it is. no rust. 85% stock. has the original window sticker. and the flipping glove box air bag sticker. i’m the second owner. guy towed with it. has upgrades shocks. leaf springs. diff and tranny cover. bigger breaks. all new ss break lines. new driver side seat. it’s deleted so it’s not clogged up. i’ve owned for 4 months now. it’s been a dream. rides so nice for a 2500 with the independent suspension. if your looking to buy an lbz. just do it. if your pockets are deep for some upgrades. do it. i’ve got efi live, 35 inch tires, boost gauges from glow shift. new lights. ect. it’s a project. but at your own will.
The lbz is hands down imo the most well rounded diesel out there. It still is my favorite diesel I have ever owned. Never had a single motor or transmission problem with it.
I have the early07 lbz classic 3500 quad cab long box, my dream truck. Being my first diesel I didnt realize when I bought it how gr8 it really was. Its my go anywhere, tow anything, carry everything and everybody beast. Absolutely love it
The LBZ has been my dream truck for the last 4 years . I finally start my job as a nurse and my first purchase will be a low mileage lbz in blue granite metallic (4x4 Of course!) . I can’t freaking wait!
the lbz cateye is my dream truck too that and a squarebody
LBZ squarebody...

Yes I own a 2007 Chevy 2500hd LBZ DURAMAX, CCSB, incredible Rig I must say , LOVE it !!!
I do have a 2007 crew cab Classic with short bed. I have owned it for 14 yrs, new off the lot. I use it to tow a 5th wheel RV. It has performed in all conditions than others I have passed going over steep grades. Love my truck.
2007 was hands down the best year for diesels in their primes. 2007 we had the 5.9 Cummins, LBZ Duramax and the 6.0 powerstroke all three were refined, more reliable and awesome! great power and even better sound!
I heard the 6.0 was the worst Ford Diesel ever made. Supposedly they could cost you $5k-$10k in repairs
@@jasonbrown5014 6.0 is not bad if you put head studs on it. The 6.4 power stroke is junk.
@@richardturner7560 how much does that cost?
@@jasonbrown5014 it’s about $600 bucks for just studs, then you add labor if you have someone do it and if you do new head gaskets before studding it it’ll add to that, not hard to do honestly, the EGR delete is highly recommended for 6.0s since their coolers collapse internally and fill the cylinders with coolant
06 LBZ had no DPF like the 07. Same motor and transmission. 07 lost mpg. 06 all day 21 mpg empty, 19 towing enclosed and 14 towing 10k excavator.
Best towing GM of the last 20 years.
got an LBZ about 10 years ago, tuned, replaced intake and exhaust, upgraded the fuel system a little bit. havent had it on a dyno but put some decent tuning in it i believe its a little over 500hp. 275k miles on it and it still runs like its brand new!
I bought a 64,000 original mile LLY awhile back and absolutely love it! Already replaced the turbo mouthpiece very strong running truck
I bought my truck of the lot at a young age of 21, crew cab, black on black LT. My dream truck, im 34 now and the lbz is still going strong with only minor issues like the notorious loss of fuel pressure, but other then that the odometer reads 144.000 and is still breaking necks.. I'm chevy guy for life because of this truck.
I own a 06 gmc lbz and I love it, have some plans so it doesn’t stay stock very long
I’m so glad you finally got you a cateye duramax. Can’t wait for the build series!!
Love my lbz bought it 5 years ago daily drove it for 2 years now it mainly does any towing or long road trips and couldn’t be happier with it!
Bought my 06 LBZ CCLB 18 years ago this month. Towed a 38' 5th wheel toy hauler with it for years. Sold the trailer a few years back but will never part with my LBZ! Best truck ever!!
Love my LBZ!!! Never had anything break that wasn't my fault! Mine was lifted for 4 years and now it's lowered. Looking forward to seeing what you have in mind for your build!
I've got a lbz with a 10" lift that I want lowered too. can you tell me how much it cost you to lower yours?
@@frankchiu8524 well, the easiest way to do it is find someone to trade setups with. If that’s not an option then you’ll need shocks, u bolts, sway bar end links, stock knuckles, and the weld in cross member which can be found at a junkyard or NorCal trucks website. I spent about a grand on quality parts to be lowered.
Just bought my first Duramax in Feb. it’s a ‘07 LBZ!!!
I have a 2007 LBZ w/ 142,000 miles and been traveling for the last year in my retirement. I held onto this thing for 13 years and barely drove it until now. It’s all stock except a FASS lift pump. Good video.
Wasn’t 2003 it was 2000, than it was released 2001, duramax was born in 2001.
And GM owns Isuzu as well, just asked them to build a engine for them
👆 he's correct you know lol fix this @customoffset
It’s want 2003 either that was the lb7
I think he said 2003 because that’s when the cat eyes first came out, just a simple mistake.
@Jacob Del Bene designed by in collaboration with gm
I love my 2007 duramax 2500! Power is amazing and gas mileage isn't too eyewatering. Easy to tow boats and trailers with bobcats. Great utility vehicle!
Dustin, you are my favorite person. Cateye + LBZ + 07 classic! My respects to you sir
I had a 2006 gmc 2500hd 4×4 ext cab LBZ had it for 4 years put 850000 miles on it hauling changed oil every 10k best truck i ever owned wish i could put that motor in my 2021 gmc now
Coming from the marine diesel world I just love my 2006 6.6L 3500 dually. Bought with only 16,000 miles on it as a package to move the 35' 5th wheel attached. The first owner made a mistake. Found that RVing was not for him. That was late 2006.
2021 & now over 230,000 miles the truck is still going strong. It has dragged that 12,000lb trailer into every state from MD at least twice, been to Alaska four times & been in every Canadian province, even Newfoundland. It is used exclusively for RV related travel. It's tires have touched the waters of the Atlantic ocean & also the Pacific Ocean. It has climbed the highest paved road in the US, Mt Evans, CO. It spends six months of the year indoors in complete hibernation.
Service-wise it gets nothing but the best treatment. It has never been to a Chevy service center. It gets oil changes at double the recommended frequency, every 3000 miles. A small town garage gets it every year & is told to go through it as if they were personally going to be taking it on a long expedition. Not a speck of rust in it. The truck has never seen snow.
We have a few more RVing years left in us but when we are finished somebody will get a hard worked but very well loved bone stock truck.
Very cool thanks for sharing ✌️
The lbz classic was the first truck I ever bought brand new of the lot. Still have it and love it!
120,000 miles on it!
@@alderbottomoutdoors9794 how's it running today? Any repairs or maintenance you had to do?

2:22 2003? The LB7 started in 01
2:38 they introduced high pressure common rail, not regular common rail
3:34 18 months?! Once again, the LB7 started in 01 and went through the first half of 04, replaced by the LLY
I have an 06 LBZ CC DRW with less than 100k, pretty happy with it
Sup Dustin, I had the '06 Chevrolet LBZ and I absolutely LOVED IT 💯%! The ONLY reason I no longer have it is because the Wife insisted on a 2017 Denali! I am always looking for the perfect LBZ! Love C/O!
I bought an ‘06 LBZ new and still own it. Tuned w/ a PPE, few other tiny engine mods and airbags on the rear w a flatbed later. Will pull whatever you put behind it and will get there in a hurry. Absolutely love it. Oh and has 410k mi and still no issues. Best truck ever.
I drive an 07 lbz dually, after deleting it and throwing a nice tune in there she's making nearly 600 hp. Never had any problems at all with her, she'll handle damn near anything you throw at her!

Definitely great trucks! -Dustin
I agree with that. Especially when you look at the price difference.
@@BeastlyWarrior228 I can definitely say my LLY for the mods it had and condition, was probably atleast 5 grand cheaper than a comparable lbz
LLY's have head gasket issues dont they?
@@jacobking4106 they do with the combined drawback of the small turbo mouth piece and the smaller radiator makes it easier for trucks to overheat pulling a trailer up a hill.
Although people found out that if you replace the turbo mouthpiece that usually takes care of it. Mines studed so I don't have a thing to worry about
I own a 2007 gmc serria lbz duramax classic, and i have modified it to 1186hp and 1900lb feet of tq. it has a single 98mm garret turbo, stage two socal af cam, stage 4 trans, and wc fab piping aa mm front and rear end. truck makes around 40-60 lbs of boost. it also has wc fab track bars and anthem equalizer rims and much more. its a beast!!! best truck ever in my opinion.
Lb7 started in 01 with the bubble eye trucks and had minor changes in 03 with different charge pipe lengths and boots
01 was sick!
So much wrong in this video from someone whos supposed to be an expert.
I have a LBZ in a 2007 2500 classic. Only 165k on it and going strong. 99% of the time it tows a 24ft work trailer or 32ft travel trailer. Really enjoyed the video.
1 yr later what happened
DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING AGAINST THE GMC BODY STYLES?! 😡
LOL
Noooooo, I love them. To be honest, I almost bought a Sierra before I found this lbz. I think the gmcs are very underrated! -Dustin
Let’s just say the gmc’s started looking the best in 2015

Dustin should start a TH-cam channel and show us the Lbz build
they prolly gonna do a build series on the channel like they did for lawson
Personally I think the best Durmax ever made is the first gen lb7 because A no Emissions or egr B The torque it has and C It just sounds the best . And for work truck I have driven the LBZ and LLY every day and I own a lb7 to me its the best u can't kill them
Had lb7, lbz(just got another one yay), 2018 l5p, and 2021 at4 l5p. My favorite pulling truck is the 18 l5p the torque is nuts. Second favorite is the lbz bc of power and throttle response. Loved my lb7 she just didnt have enough umf. New at4 l5p made me switch to a powerstroke. 😢
I've got a 07 gmc classic lbz and I love it
Me too ❤️ it .....best truck I’ve ever owned hands down ......love my dually .....lol it is a very tough truck it blows away traffic in a heartbeat 💓 even loaded with 10 thousand pounds haha 😛 I plan on keeping it for as long as I can. Even to the point of a full restoration in the future if need be.
I have one she’s the best and it’s a dually
LBZ ftw🖖🏻
I have one. 2007 with 58,000 original miles
You didn't mention that half of 2006 was still coded as LLY, which it was a completely different motor than the LLY, in fact it was an LBZ but it was de-tuned to 300hp and 600 ft lbs, they didn't boost the power numbers and change the engine code until they saw how they performed for the first half of the sales year.
Gotta love that “classic” 05 and 06 Cat Eye!
I had 2 LB7’s over the last 15 years… and just recently found a 06 with 75k miles that lived in a garage it’s whole life. Such a fun truck!
That’s why I own 3 LBZs they all have over 300k with no major issues!! 👍
Bought brand new in 06. Best truck I’ve ever driven and the most powerful stock truck I’ve ever been in…. Very reliable trucks, comfortable, haul a 17k trailer around like it’s absolutely nothing, and has plenty of power to put the smack down to most kids cars or other trucks on the road…. Definitely one of the best Duramax motors ever produced, with the L5P leading 1st due to how much of absolute monster they are, especially tuned and deleted…
17k bumper pull ? Or gooseneck?
Didn't think they were rated to tow this much weight?
I have an 06 LBZ with 428k miles. Hardly no issues. I get a SES light once in awhile from the turbo. It lists it as a turbo vein sensor issue but I have replaced that and it still persists. Doesn't keep the truck from running strong and pounding the pavement. I have 5" exhaust all the way back, cold air intake, airdog fuel system, 2 inch lift and an edge CTS3 tuner. Truck flat out runs when I put the big hp tune on it. To the point it's a little scary. With big wheels and 35 inch tires and all the add ons I still get 20mpg. I sold my 2019 GMC Sierra because of the truck market and down graded to this. Although I can't really say downgraded, I love this truck more than my GMC. The interior, the look, the power and all the compliments I get on it make it my favorite truck I've ever had.
Sounds badass!
Just bought myself a 05 lly cat eye duramax and love it my dream truck for sure
My dad has recently passed, so I inherited his 07 LBZ she has a 6in lift with 35s and a full exhaust kit.. beautiful truck is an understatement

i bought an ext cab/ long bed 4x4 lbz / allison brand new, still have it, still love it! its got a whoppin' 42k miles on it - i have a peterbilt work truck, so the lbz is not a daily driver. but i use it all the time around the farm to pull trailers and whatever needs done. but, with the family, now i wish it was a 4 door 😔
A red 2006 crew cab cat eye duramax is my dream truck
I’ve got on 06 LBZ crew cab short bed with just over 500k. It really is a million mile truck
I have had my LBZ for almost 4 years now. And boy was she a hidden gem. 2006, Crew Cab, LT3 package, and she only had 52k miles! But unfortunately, due to Wisconsin salt, my rockers and cab corners are gone, even with me washing almost every week during winter. Currently sitting at 123k miles and hoping to get a ton of life out of her!

Loved the video and can't wait to see the build. But you know what I haven't seen? A Powerstroke What's the Hype. And specifically a certain engine made from 94-2003, slow as a bull, pulls like a workhorse, overpriced on the marketplace, and last but not least... Reliable. lol

Grossed almost 30k lbs with my 06 LBZ towing my 5th wheel and my buddies bass boat behind that. Bone stock too.
My 06 LBZ grossed 26,500 with large 5th wheel. Towed through Tennessee, N Carolina mountains no problem. Built up to 25 lbs of bust. Only mods are 4 in straight pipe, bulldog LP and CTS2 on tow tune. @@stevenpetro4276 just here to remind you all that Cummins is king .
I have a Cummins too, but it makes a 32' boat move. Mine is one of the great ones. A 1996 5.9L Diamond Series rated at 315hp @ 2600. Tough life being a marine engine. It spends it's whole life effectively going uphill against the pressure of the water. Yeah, you want to hear that Cummins, especially with the raw water injected into it & coming out of a 7" diameter pipe under the swim platform. One sweet noise.
Isuzu also has a good reputation in marine applications.
