    I lied in the video 😬 I used a sample for the drums that are not part of the internal sounds on the MPC. Also the plugins I used are additional paid plugins that do not ship with the Key 37. But aside from that, everything is happening internally.

    • @teftymusictech
      @teftymusictech  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Also this is pretty much how I use the MPC Key 61. Same process. I feel like the Key 61 lends itself to a better experience as a 'internal sounds only' MPC experience because of the 61 keys, touchstrip, more buttons, and 4gig of RAM.

      i was wondering if the plugins were included with the keys 37 ? , having bought a keys 61 a few months ago , the jura or the D didn't come included , so just out of interest , how much were they ? , or would cost ? ... otherwise great video , thanks

      On the Key 37, no additional plugins. You get a voucher for one plugin, but that's it. If you registered your Key 61 I believe you get licenses for the Instrument collection. But the Jura and Mini D are individual purchases (I think around 100 bucks but go on sale for cheaper)

    Nice job explaining everything while maintaining the pace of the video. Right on the sweet spot of talking, music and good footage.

    This was soooooo good to watch. I am a DJ, but more importantly an inspiring producer and the vibe you cooked up here is absolutely on point with what I want to produce. Chill, melodic breakbeat and house. Heck it even translates to progressive house with what you produced here. You've definitely sold me on this kit and I'll be studying this video!

    Thats it! You convinced me about the Mpc key 37 with this video! Watched several ones on different channels to have an opinion but your video, with the complexity and beauty of the beat totally gave me the final thought I was looking for. Since I compose every melody of my beats from scratch, I was a little bit sceptical about the 37 keys and how it could affect my work flow. The portability of this standalone device already got my attention, what was missing was a certain level of complexity in the composition. Thanks 🙏🏾

    Just picked up my mpc 37 yesterday,never actually owned an mpc in the past and I’m now looking forward to learning the new workflow and the key 37.
    So far I’m impressed with the unit and its build,albeit the plastic enclosure is not for everyone but it seems pretty robust!
    the layout and touch screen are very impressive,, and I’m rather excited about learning and mastering this unit.
    Love the videos,very educational and transparent.

      Thank you and congrats! My advice is to take it slow and learn each section that's relevant to you. It took me a solid year of keeping things simple before the workflow clicked and I was making beats faster than other platforms (I was heavily into DAW workflows).

      @@teftymusictechsame here .. i’ve been working on Logic for about 20 yrs .. and i just decided to start exploring MPC world .. i just picked up a key 37 and tbh i feel as if i ve never done music in my life. A bit complicated for me .. but i appreciate your advise and i believe you are right .. shud take things slow .. i have a question tho .. is there a way to load and play the mpc plug ins directly in Logic without using mpc software .. like for example loading the sounds in Komplete Control … thnx alot for your great videos .. keep them coming 👍🏻

      So the answer is 'it depends' ... All the newer plugins have VST/AU versions, like Mini D Jura AIR Flavor Pro etc ... But I'm not sure about older plugins like Tubesynth. They might, but you'd have to look in the InMusic download manager software. If you want to loadup a sample group you recorded inside the MPC, you'll have to load the MPC software plugin for those. Hope that helps!

    Hi. I have a questions. I know my question is really up to my own needs. But are there plugins on the MPC keys 37 that you feel are a must have for what you do? If there are and you can mention them I can research into them more and figure out if I may find them useful or not.

      @jeffryarchambeau5441 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A year ago I bought a 61 to go with my Live2 but they mostly do their own thing. Wishing I had the 37 instead to plug it into the Live2 with USB as an MPC expander. Live could control both.

    • @teftymusictech
      @teftymusictech  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmmm to pair with the Live 2, I'd probably go with the 37. However! If you don't own the plugin bundle yet, the Key 61 will give you a license that you could use on with your Live 2 as well. But the Key 37 has that nice USB-Midi feature that would pair with the Live 2 easily (if it's the main brain of the setup)
      Thanks for watching!

    But what if we don’t wanna make single continuously looping program that we play together with. What would we do if we wanted to make long 30 minute tracks for Beatles psychedelic looooong flowing waves of sound that can be 30 seconds between beats and still even then catch you off guard. That kind of music is what I want to make and I am thinking about buying this product.

    With a bit of ahead planning is it possible to do this live without having to interrupt playback? Create the drum loop, switch instrument to bass, record it, switch to another instrument, record all while it playing back? Maybe even record external mic or guitar on the fly?

    • @liotier
      @liotier 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Might be doable if you have all instruments loaded beforehand: switching track and sequences is instant, but loading instruments takes several seconds. Problem will be between songs, as loading a new set of tracks require loading all its instruments.

    • @teftymusictech
      @teftymusictech  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've actually thought of this a lot lately ... the major problem is the lack of dynamic lengths between the tracks. If you pre planned the lengths of everything beforehand, then yes you could easily do that. There's a dedicated single track looper in the MPC as well. Also the tempo has the same issue of not being dynamic to a particular performed loop, so you gotta no the BPM beforehand and have a way to lock to it (click track that's audible).
      I've actually mentioned to Akai about having the 'length' of a track get truncated to the nearest measure after recording to enable live midi looping capabilities. Fingers crossed it gets incorporated into the OS at some point.
