  • Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny reviews are in for the 5th movie in the Indiana Jones franchise from Lucasfilm. Harrison Fords last film as Indiana Jones they introduce Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Indiana's god daughter and future replacement if the series continues. A movie that has time travel, and aging 70 year old Indy and his god daughter saving the day. Indiana Jones and the Dial of destiny is not your normal Indiana Jones film. Having more in common with The Crystal Skull than the first trilogy. But from the critic reviews is Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny worth watching?

Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny Review because for some reason, I've seen it. I was warned, the critics reviews were right, it was so bad even the BBC called the movie accurately. We have a broken Indiana Jones and Phoebe-Waller Bridge being perfect at everything insufferable and definitely his replacement. With an ending so laughably written it's astonishing it ever got signed off for a 300 million dollar movie.
And with the reviews plus the 7.2 Million dollar opening day, profit is not in sight for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. But what did you think? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

Just reminds me of how chris pine's character was marketed in dungeons and dragons, except this time its indiana jones and its completely true, not just ending with the main character getting humiliated by the female lead in the trailer alone.

A real Indiana Jones in 1969 would have been a highly respected archaeologist that everyone looked up to. He would have been doing lecture tours and telling stories of his past. The movie would have flashbacks throughout, showing never before seen adventures with him narrating, and culminating with him leaving the lecture, putting on his hat and walking off into the sunset. Or pretty much any other story where he's "not" ruined.

😂 that line where Phoebe calls herself beautiful is mental. 1: for an actress you look more like a substitute drama teacher.
2: I doubt even Patrick Bateman the most narcissistic character perhaps in literature would out loud describe himself as handsome because he even would realise how vain that would sound.

So yeah Phoebe was on a show and she is a brunette British lady like Kathleen Kennedy. Totally not a self insert in the story to punish Lucas and Spielberg. Look at her other casting decision where did Daisy Ridley come from? I knew who Bodega was before hand from Attack the Block he was good. Who was Daisy? A british brunette lady. Harrison ford seemed pretty genuinely enthusiastic about this film, so I definitely don’t think he felt it was ruining the character at all. Thanks for the insights and the laughs! Totally agree. I've loved Indy since '81, so why would I *ever* root for a character (Wombat) who lies to him, tricks him, steals from him, cares only about money, and doesn't use her knowledge for good? I kept wishing Indy would leave her to the bad guys and save himself -- and also thought her father would be rolling in his grave. Yes, that's right, I couldn't keep my mind on the story because the script is fatally flawed! I did find it moving when Indy met Archimedes: you could see his deep admiration and wonder written on his face. Only a lazy team of screenwriters would have to end that scene not with persuasion, or an emotional appeal based on Wombat's care for Indy (if she did, in fact, care for him), but instead with a knockout punch and a quick cut to the last scenes. One of many copouts. Hollywood keeps forgetting that no amount of money, CGI, or marketing can compensate for a poor script.

I was 19 when Star Wars released and there were a lot of beloved IP's released over the next decade plus. I never expected nor wanted any cash grabs long after they became 'history' so personally, there are no legacies destroyed, just some really bad fan fiction being used to maximize profit from an industry that let art die. I feel more sorry for younger people than for myself - I was lucky to grow up and support these wonderful examples.

Here’s my take on what should have happened: Indiana Jones 5 should have had to do with Atlantis. As retired man who’s still in his golden years and still in shape, still married to Marion Ravenwood and now a grandfather, but missing the glory days he decides to go on one more adventure while encountering the Soviets. The movie ends with him finding Atlantis and retrieving a relic for the museum, then recounting the story to his grandson as well as his other adventures. Indy puts him to bed, while his grandson is holding his Fedora hat, dreaming of Indy’s adventures and hinting that one day he will have his own stories and own adventures to tell of. THE END.

I'm not sure if any other creative team could have run such great IP's into the ground so quickly, and expunged all traces of goodwill from their respective fan-bases. How great would it have been if Indy was happily retired, having hung up
The hat and enjoying telling stories of his adventures to his grandchildren. Then his goddaughter comes in and tells she needs his help. There was an incident that happened in his past, some mystery he wasn’t able to solve then but has a chance to now. She can’t do it on her own because he’s the foremost expert in the world about it.
It turns out to be a bigger deal than everyone thought, and Indy’s friends friends come to his aid in every country they visit. He can’t fight like he used to, but is smarter, uses his environment and his experience to win.
In the end his wife picks him up in by plane, and they ride off into the sunset.
He hands his hat toHis god daughter who he’s bonded with on the adventure who’s watched in awe as she learn from the master. He tells her I’m getting too old for this, and tells her it’s her turn now.
