Brilliant! These pipes are expensive and getting hard to find. The last one I buggered up was at the up pipe, twisted 'er right around. I bet I could've fixed that one easily. Pretty sure it went with the last scrap metal run.

    Nice job Cliff...
Couple of things I picked up from plumbing and heating work ....if you have some fine wire wool handy you can quickly wipe the joints to remove any excess solder whilst its still hot. Another little tip ..you can dab the solder in the flux which helps the solder to flow when the solder touches the joint .

yeah I was looking for some wire wool but must have used it all up on something! Off camera I was doing what you recommended about dipping the solder in the flux and that definitely helps the solder flow, I think I will do the pipe again and make a better job of it before using it though

@@OldBiker job looked a good'n Cliff but I know if something isn't quite 'right' it will bug you every time you look at it. best flux i ever used was Larco but I'm not sure you can buy it anymore ?...elfnsafety c*ap. I have some finer solder wire I could send you which is really useful for small stuff and flows instantly leaving no trace outside the fitting .

@@johncooper7242 oi oi guess what, I just dug out my old Triumph Boyer MK3 Electronic ignition and made it fit the XS lol Thanks for the solder offer but come to think of it I might have some finer stuff when I was fixing an old amplifier a while back, I'll have to see, if not I'll give you a shout for some of the solder you have, much appreciated!
