  • Everyone wants to know what is going to happen in the future. The Lord has promised that He will always foretell the history of His chosen people Israel. “I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee . . .” (Isaiah 48:5, 1 Nephi 20:5) Where is our history foretold? Where has the Lord prophesied His dealings with modern Israel as he did with ancient Israel?
We have been told that the Book of Mormon was written for our day. The prophets who compiled it were commanded not to place within its pages items that were not of critical worth. Is there something more we may have largely missed? Is the work itself a type and shadow of our day?

I'm a convert from 2005. I had no idea the things that happened to the Nephites and Lamanites are so prophetic to us in our day in 2024. It is still amazing.

I appreciate that the Book of Mormon is a blessing for us in our day. Its message is directed toward us who are Gentiles, us who are Jews, us who decend from Lehi and Mulek, and all of us who will believe in Jesus Christ and become part of the Lord's covenant people. We must serve the true and living God, for He is the God of the whole earth.

When I listen to the Book of Mormon audio each day it feels like I have invited angels and ancient great prophets into my home. My health is very poor so sometimes I struggle for a sense of direction. The Book of Mormon literally sets my mind on course of what to do each day. It also gives me a sense of deep peace and faith with the caotic news of our day.

Thank you so much! We as saints do need to take these sacred words more seriously, not just casually dabbling and having a pleasant ‘book club’ discussion each week. We are so blessed to have this book to guide us, and this video is a beautiful and sober reminder. 🙏🏻

The book of mormon needs a light on it,your work is fantastic! There are too many who don't know the truth of the book of mormon (inside the church). How does that help bring others to the truth? A zion people is a people who can see eye to eye.sadly the younger generation is falling away.
I know for myself the book of mormon is true,no man has told me this. I learned through study and prayer....Moroni is 100% correct when he said "the Lord would tell you its the truth".

What a wonderful introduction to this year’s study of The Book of Mormon! I’m looking forward to what you have to share with us.
It was so good to hear from President Bensen again! He was my favorite…and never seemed “controversial “ to me at all. He was so in tune with what the Book of Mormon had to tell us about our day! I’ve thought many times that I’d love to hear his insights as we move even closer to the Savior’s return, and as the insights of the Book of Mormon become even more clear and obvious! This will be an interesting year!

Glad I found this page. I’ll study with you.
I few things that I would like to bring up that I have noticed for myself. 1. Every time I read the Book of Mormon it is like a brand new book that I have never read, and gives me insight in the things I need. 2. I’m home a lot right now fighting a disease, so I have been spending more time on You Tube with verses subjects. The one thing that is going on more than I thought I’d see in my lifetime is; Videos of fault, profits leading man, astray. 3. add attack on the book of Mormon and Joseph Smith like I’ve never seen before. Keep the faith, brothers and sisters. This just strengthens my testimony that our scriptures are true because it has been prophesied.

Can you help me, I do know what else to do.
I pray everyday for a sign but never get one.
The only time I’ve felt the spirit was in a LDS church, but other people have shot down all my reasons and said it’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
They said that’s why there are Muslims, Buddhists and such, they get feelings telling them it’s right.
I keep an open mind and look at all sides.
But I just donno what to think and what to do.
My family isn’t religious at all, and they seemed to have issues when I attended (which was very few times.)
But the community LDS have is second to none.
I try to ask others for help and what to do but they either don’t respond, give little in response or stop responding.
I have a bad habit of need as much detailed as possible for certain things and I think I burn people out.
My main concern is making the right choice and not dooming my soul.
I love what you do and how you do, your so passionate and well read on the church, history and the abjections to it.
Any hope or guidance on what to do and how to get a sign would mean so much!
    Thank you!
And keep up the good work!

      1. You might research in The Standard Works what it means to "seek fo a sign." Compare and contrast to "seeking personal revelation."
      2. "Feelings" are scorned by evangelicals and other denominations. They make something plain become hard to understand.
      But this is sacred.
Jesus told Peter "flesh and blood hath not revealed it but your Father in Heaven (revealed it)." And later "pricked in their hearts" And Elijah "the still small voice" and Nephi "a voice of perfect mildness" or Moroni "by the power of The Holy Ghost."
      Blessings to you Kyle.

It seems that Pres. Benson did not relinquish his teaching about the dangers in Communism and other movements on the Left. The Spirit helped him realize that the solution comes from the members coming to really understand and use The Book of Mormon.

  • @bradhardisty1652
    @bradhardisty1652 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

There is a reason Benson became focused on The Book of Mormon at the very beginning. Early around 1980. I don't have exact dates but this is what happened. The discussions were changed so that the first discussion was about Jesus Christ instead of Joseph Smith and The Book of Mormon. That became the 2nd discussion. So, what happened was botm placements became half. I went in 82 and was part of that change in Venezuela..when we taught JC first people would say oh you're like us and it was hard to get a 2nd discussion and books we're not placed because we didn't do that until the 2nd discussion. Missionaries started making up pre discussions about apostasy, figuring that if they taught apostasy first, they would understand why we were teaching Christ and we knew about the apostasy. I wouldn't do it because I wasn't going to destroy their current understanding without teaching Joseph Smith. Anyway, the church realized it was a mistake and they flip flopped the discussions back to JS and The Book of Mormon being first and placing The Book of Mormon.. I'm not sure exact.timing but if there is research I'm sure it was at the beginning of Benson's administration. He pushed even furtheranf had the families of the church purchase cases and put personal testimonies in the cover page. I did this . They would then give them to local missionaries to give out or send out. I'm sure.this push was so large it made up for the ones not placed for that period which I think was about three years. That probably could be researched about book of Mormon placements before the change to JC first discussion and then back to JS first discussion and the Benson push with personal testimonies. I knew there would be cases of Book of Mormons like 20 or so always ready to go during the Benson push.

There was a Great War in Alma - ww1… later another bigger war with amalickiah showing a lot of similarities to how Hitler got power - ww2. Then rebellious youth - 60-70s. Then Hagoth traveled - globalism. Then gadianton robbers - corrupt governments nowadays, terrorists, organized crime, human trafficking, drug cartels… we are in Helaman or beginning of 3 Nephi. The Euphrates river has dried up. Conflicts in Israel are intensifying. Russia (Gog and Magog) has become an enemy. The puzzle pieces are coming together. We just don’t know if this will continue another 5 years or 50 years.

    B.O.M parallels:
    1. Lehi & family leaves wicked Jerusalem(Egypt/Babylon) with the brass plates travelling thru the wilderness and over the seas to the promised land(the Americas) to replace the former inhabitants of the Americas(the Jaredites) who were swept off the land because of wickedness = Moses leading the children of Israel out of Egypt over the (red) sea and thru the wilderness to the promised land(the land of Canaan) to replace the former wicked inhabitants(the Canaanites).
    2. Soon after arriving in the promised land (the Americas) father Lehi dies and eventually his family separate into 2 distinct nations/groups, the Nephites and the Lamanites = the Israelites settle into the promised land(the land of Canaan) and eventually separate into 2 distinct nations/groups, Judah and Israel.
    3. In the book of omni a period of roughly between 200-300yrs pass after this separation and what appears to be a general state of apostasy among the Nephites with neverending wars between the Lamanites = the universal Apostasy from the truth(the Dark Ages)
    4. Mosiah and his people bringing with them the brass plates(covenants of the Lord) migrate from the land of Nephi(the land of their first inheritance/the land close to where they first settled upon soon after arriving in the Americas) to a new land called the land of Zarahemla, which was already inhabited by others who had also come from Jerusalem, the Mulekites = Christopher Columbus' discovery of the Americas along with other colonizers (the Pilgrims etc) who followed after, bringing with them the covenants of the Lord thru the Holy Bible and their discovery of the indigenous peoples of the Americas(the American Indians, Incas, Mayans, Aztecs etc)
    5. The Lord then strengthens this new amalgamation of peoples who have come to Zarahemla to repel the power-hungry Lamanites = the Lord extended his power to the new American Colonizers enabling them to win their independence (the American revolutionary war) from their native lands(Europe: British, French and Spain)
    6. King Mosiah set up a new system of government with laws that promoted and guaranteed the liberty/freedom of the people(laws of Mosiah) with what closely resembles an executive branch(chief judges) along with legislative and judicial branches(higher and lower judges) = the Declaration of Independence, the Monroe doctrine and the Constitution of the United States especially its articles requiring the 3 branches of government (executive, legislative and judicial)
    7. Alma who became the founder of Christ's Church who converted and baptized many people but who were forced to leave their home lands and suffer much in the way of trials and persecution at the hands of their enemies for the sake of their beliefs eventually escaping and finding their way to Zarahemla = the restoration of the true church by Joseph Smith the Prophet and the early church and the trials and persecution that they faced forcing them from their homes to eventually settle in Utah
    8. The discovery of the Jaredite record upon gold plates by the people of Zarahemla and it's miraculous translation by the prophet/king Mosiah about the former inhabitants of the Americas and their dealings with God who eventually got swept off the land by God because of wickedness = the discovery of the book of Mormon written upon gold plates and its miraculous translation into english by the prophet Joseph Smith about the former inhabitants of the Americas (the Nephites and Lamanites) and their dealings with God who eventually got swept off the land by God because of wickedness
    9. The big push for missionary work among the Nephites and the Lamanites led by Alma, Amulek and the 4 sons of Mosiah which converted thousands = the great missionary work that was carried out in the States and Europe just after the true church was restored by the prophet Joseph Smith
    10. Some of the prevailing reasons for this push for missionary work among the Nephites soon after the big migratory discoveries of Zarahemla and the church having been established in Zarahemla was the emergence of what could only be described as competing anti-christ ideas and philosophies of men vs the true doctrine of Jesus Christ and the liberty promoting laws of Mosiah that were established in the land that grew out of that doctrine = human slavery, sexual revolution, materialism, socialism, communism, crony capitalism, liberalism, feminism, Darwinism and every other modern-day ism that would emerge and spread across the world.
    11. The Nephites-Lamanite wars = all civil wars and world wars of the 19th and 20th centuries
    12. The King-men/Amalickiah, Ammoron(nephites of high birth or influence who became traitors to their own people during war time) = any elites (puppet masters) and politicians (puppets) of the 19th and 20th centuries who sold out their own people/country for money and power
    13. The Gadianton Robbers(political assassinations, infiltration of government at all levels and robbing the people) = any and all organized criminal networks ie mafia, CIA, FBI, NGOs, Skull n Bones, Freemasons, Bill Gates, Jeffrey Epstein, the Clintons, the Bushs, the Obamas, the military industrial complex etc etc etc
    14. The Lamanites become more righteous than the Nephites which became more apparent after thousands of the Lamanites were converted by the missionary efforts of Nephi and Lehi = the fulness of the Gentiles?
    15. The Nephite government disintegrates and the Nephites group instead into autonomous tribes = the Constitution of the United States hanging as it were by a thread only to be saved by the Elders of the Church(whatever this prophecy by JS and BY implies I believe that the US government as we know it is already going thru the process of being systematically dismantled because of widespread corruption entrenched over a hundred years. This has become more and more apparent since the advent of the Qanon phenomenon. If the BOM is of any indication how things will play out for the future of the US government going forward I believe the People will have no choice but to vote or opt for a system of government based on separate autonomous States where there is no central/federal government but where some aspects of the Constitution of the United States and the Declaration of Independence are all that will remain).
    16. Earthquakes, Storms, fires etc destroy Nephite cities and the wicked just preceding the coming of the resurrected Christ to the Americas (specifically coming to the temple at Bountiful and not Zarahemla) = the destruction of the wicked thru out the world just preceding the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ to America first (specifically coming to the New Jerusalem temple in Jackson county Missouri and not Utah)
    17. A period of about 200 years of peace among the Nephites after Christ's visit to the Americas = the Millennium (a period of peace when Christ comes to reign on earth for a 1000 years)
    18. The last great battle of the Nephites and Lamanites at the end of the BOM = the battle of Armageddon ( the final battle between all the forces of Good vs all the forces of Evil after the Millennium is over).

Good video! I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for over 20 years now. And have read the Book of Mormon far more than any other book! I know for a fact that it was written specifically for us in these latter days. And absolutely has all the answers to the problems of our society.
For me, the answer lies in central focus of the Book. The coming of Christ to the people of the Book of Mormon. What changed in them? What changed in their hearts and minds? What was it that changed and caused their society to be SO blessed for four generations? How can we reproduce this in our society today??? Was not this the condition of Enoch and his city? Are we (Zion from below) supposed to be fully read to meet Zion from above at their coming to Earth? Doesn't the Book of Mormon show us how to do it? Are we there yet? If not, why? And more importantly, what do we need to do to get there?

I love the Book of Mormon! And my most favorite part is when Christ came to visit the people here. I believe we are going to experience a time of great joy and peace. Even a greater time of peace and joy than they experienced in the Book of Mormon for four generations! President Nelson was right! We are living in a time where we are going to see in real life what the Prophet Nephi saw only in vision! 😊👋

Don't you mean the future will change once the current "prophet" realizes that a past prophet did or said something that is problematic for today's mormons?

  • @GMMXX80
    @GMMXX80 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Wow, good video!
I don't think it's our pride necessarily. I DON'T think we're proud in that we have all the answers. I think it's our lack of faith in the Book of Mormon and that we're ashamed of it. We don't feel that it stands the test of time or we question its validity still. I think we're embarrassed by it.
In Evangelical Christianity, which appears to be the greatest enemy of the Church right now bent on converting Latter-day Saints, so much so that they're brave enough to infiltrate Utah and begin work in proving Latter-day Saints wrong. They've gotten far more brave and much more aggressive in their tactics to "convert the Mormons" and they're using the shaky foundation of members and the Book of Mormon to accomplish it. Evangelicals are said to be at 600 million of the just over 1 billion Protestant Christians and make of most of the 46,000 different denominations. How many Latter-day Saints are there in the world right now? 16 million, that's pretty sad considering we have nearly, is it 70,000 missionaries out at present? 16 million vs 600 million. Evangelicals are quick to ask if you've been saved. They're quick and insistent on pairing religious materials in schools (yes all of the schools where I live have prayer cards and request information cards that are tucked in the back of their seats, where Idaho and Utah either assume everyone's a member or, are more ashamed and embarrassed to talk religion. They hear it in church on Sunday, have FHE on Monday, and Tuesday for teenagers, not to mention their daily dose of seminary, and so they're all worn out, but that's not helping those NOT of their faith. Evangelicals are faster to move to discuss religion, whether they offend you or not.
Because Evangelicals are quick to move, Snoop Dog is a Born Again Evangelical and, yes, the Undertaker converted to Christianity a couple years ago because someone wasn't afraid to open their mouth and was insistent and persistent. But, was it a Latter-day Saint? No. We're too afraid to speak up or feel we don't know our Bible like they do, and it suffers. 16 vs 600 million.
I, again, would not argue it's pride, it's embarrassment and ashamed feelings of the Book of Mormon. We've let the world grab hold of us and convince us it's not geographically proven. That the Bible is older and we have transcripts. That we can walk through Jerusalem and through the Old Country and find evidence of the Bible, and then they ask: "What about your Book of Mormon"?
There's a lot of people setting out to prove the Book of Mormon and those who aren't LDS are stumbling across ruins and finding connections to it. I just heard a lesson given by Brigham Young who stated with regards to the science of the earth that it's said to be millions of years old, not thousands like people are. Brigham Young stated science fact is fact. If the world is millions of years old, it doesn't matter how it got that way, we know that something doesn't come from nothing, the earth was created with existing matter. The same is applicable to the Book of Mormon. It doesn't matter where the Book of Mormon took place, what's being found is simply evidence of a culture that has traced back to the Old World. It's enough and more is discovered through time that will answer more questions or we'll learn something knew or additional to what we thought we knew, but the Bible has been studied a lot longer than the Book of Mormon and has had more people working over a longer period of time to prove it's history. The Book of Mormon can catch up. Central and South America are covered in jungle and the United States is more stubborn with allowing archeological digs so who knows.
The point is just that, we've allowed the rest of the Christian community to intimidate us far too long, and we're backing up rather than standing with the same conviction Evangelicals have. Youve seen the Book of Mormon change people on your missions. Some not so much, they were more impressed with the people and felt it was all true elsewhere but need to come to know the Book of Mormon too. Get out of Utah and Idaho, it's a different world, you're a minority, but it's not easier to discuss it because you're peculiar to people but their Pastor has them terrified to talk to you as well. The devil can grab hold of them and trick them when they talk to you, unless you can convey in a loving matter what you're all about. It's not about pressure or fear, it's about the difference between Old Testament wrath of God vs New Testament mercy. Is what I think

Revelation wasn't the last book in the Bible to be written. Rev. 22:18-19 are about the Book of Revelation otherwise you'd have to throw out some other books in the New Testament! See Deuteronomy 4:2-3 which says much the same. If you take the same logic you'll have to throw out everything after the five books of Moses.
I don't see why it's so hard for some people to think God cannot have a prophet today. God is not mute. He is involved intimately in our lives. He speaks through his prophet who is Russell M. Nelson. Listen to what the prophet is saying. Read The Book of Mormon. It was written for us and our time. It is true and testifies of Jesus Christ. Don't be afraid to look.

Generally, it is believed by scholars that the Gospel of John and the Epistles of John were written after the Book of Revelation. Are you willing to say those books aren’t legitimate scripture?
