    Errors:
    1. The Martellus Bennett section was supposed to say "Most receiving yards by a bears tight end, super bowl era," so that's an oversight.
    2. Another oversight: The 2018 Bears went 12-4, not 11-5. I don’t know where I got 11-5 from considering the 18 Bears are one of my favorite teams ever.
    3. The Bears played in Chicago against the Chiefs in 2011.
    4. The text when talking about Cutler’s bears records was supposed to say this.
Something to improve on for the next video!

21:11 many Bears fans did not look at the John Fox tenure positively. The only things looked at positively in this era was the 2015 season where the offense did pretty well and the hiring of DC Vic Fangio
Most of the bears defensive core/team was gone after 2014, Matt forte, Tim Jennings, Lance Briggs, Devin Hester and Julius peppers after 2013 Marcellus Bennett after 2015. They had a new team not aware of the previous locker room toxicity

I once saw someone refer to the Bears from 2006 to 2014 as the ultimate whack-a-mole franchise. "Oh hey, that's a great defense! Too bad your QB sucks. Oh, now you have a QB? Too bad, now your offensive line and receivers are shit. Oh, you picked up some weapons and have a decent line? Too bad, now your defense is old and your new coaches are awful."

Cutler getting roasted by the media for “quitting on the team” and then on the very next season deciding not to quit on a play he should have, injuring his thumb, just shows how misunderstood he was as a player. 28 games with a 100 passer rating in 97 starts, 26 with a sub 70. He was a taller and more athletic Rex with enough highs to earn a contract extension.

For reference look at Rex’s 2006 game logs on his PFR page. In 8 games he posted a 114 pr with a 19-2 TD:INT ratio and 2k yards, ended with a 73, 23:20 3.1k.
Rex with the height athleticism and enough highs to earn a contract extension.

It also helps they had the 3rd ranked defense that season. And that’s only cuz Ravens and Pats defense were also insane in that era. They got rid of Rex cuz if he could win a ring that season he never would. Jay on the other hand may have won a ring with that team. I don’t understand people thinking Rex was any good. I was always a Jay Cutler supporter when he was with the Bears, almost to a fault. The excitement I had when Jerry Angelo first traded for him was damn near euphoric. Obviously, it didn't turn out the way I had hoped. Cutler had his faults, but I will STILL argue the Bears organization failed him more than he failed them. Countless offensive coordinator changes, a porous offensive line, dumpster fire of a collection of WR's, horrible drafts, and a head coach who failed to recognize the forward pass as an actual weapon did Jay no favors. The lazy, bumfuck national media liked to call him a quitter and a bad teammate, but any player who was man enough to put his name on record always defended him and said fantastic things. And, if i remember correctly, they criticized Cutler for the way he yelled at JaMarcus Webb. So, which one is it??
I'll take it to my grave Bruce Arians would've turned Cutler into a top 10, possibly top 5 QB had he been hired over Dr. Death.

It's actually wild how we didn't even make a SB from 2010-2013 considering just how good the offense was. 2010 we got all the way to the NFCC and had Green Bay on the ropes till Cutler hurt his knee, 2011 he broke his thumb(?), 2012 we went 10-6 but the defence was beat to shit and we SOMEHOW missed the playoffs, then in 2013 Chris Conte either blew a coverage or Briggs didn't get him the audible, and that was it for the window of opportunity.
Some stupid back luck prevented us from getting anywhere.

He was treated like crap for the entire time the bears had him. Not just by fans but by the team. Failed to give him any sort of receiving and oline help. And the play callers were all jokes. The fact he had people question his toughness when if you had watched him throughout the bears it was the last thing you’d question, makes me don’t blame him for being an ass the entire time

Same excuse could be made for Mitch Trubisky and Justin Fields but they didn’t get 8 years to prove that they wasn’t the guy. They also didn’t have receivers and o lines, they didn’t have the coaching, and they battled through injuries and came back early from injuries also. No one makes excuses for their failures so Cutler shouldn’t get excuses either. And i peeped that the only defense that was worst than the 2013 Bears defense was the 2022 Bears defense. When the bears was losing in 2013, it was the defense fault. When the bears lost in 2022, it was because JF sucked. Let’s compare time spans. From 2013-2016 when Cutler didn’t have help, and 2021-2023 when JF didn’t have help, how many times did the Bears get blown out in back to back weeks and allowed 50 points? How many Packers games was competitive? During the span of 2013-2016, Cutler was surrounded by veteran talent. They were not trying to tank. In 2021, JF inherited an old, over paid, and overhyped team. In 2022, they intentionally tanked by letting everyone go and signing and played a bunch of low tier free agents and undrafted free agents. 2023 was the first year that the bears had continuity on the coaching staff, and had a roster where a majority of the starters were players that was drafted and would be playing together for the next 3+ years. They won 7 games after a 0-4 start and was still in contention for a playoff spot in December 2023.

That 2013 week 17 game will always haunt me. 28-20 lead in the 4th. Lovie’s bears jumped on every potentially live ball, this defense left it for Green Bay to score. The interception going through Conte’s hands for a long completion, and Peppers missing the sack on 4th down with blown coverage in the most critical play of the game.
The Packers have been in the Bears way since Grossman left. In 2010, the packers had to win week 17 against the bears just to make the playoffs. The bears could have finished them off but played backups and lost 10-3 because they had their spot locked in already. The packers beat them in the nfc championship game and I would had the bears against any team but them. In 2012, the bears had to rely on the packers to beat the Vikings for them to sneak into the playoffs. The packers lost by 3.

I never hated Cutler and even felt for him a bit being slammed when some losses not his fault (like creamed by Patriots yet somehow Cutler blamed more than defense). Problem was just as he'd find an actual winning groove, an injury. Case in point, 2013, Bears doing well than he breaks thumb, a losing streak and still remember hearing guys on radio after they blew a game to Kansas City going "I don't ever want to hear anything bad about Cutler again!"

Hey, it's the Canal music from Ys Book II by Ryo Yonemitsu in the beginning of the video! Though I'm not sure which version, since the only version I'm really familiar with is from the TG-16 CD. Underrated soundtrack BTW. And yeah, the Cutler Bears were a complete and glorious (and absolutely maddening in the Trestman years) mess. Lastly, the biggest problem with Mike Martz's offense was that he didn't have Orlando Pace to take on 2 defenders at once and make those 7-step dropbacks possible.
