Well as a jets fan you should actually be happy with Lawrence because he is a massive improvement over any QB you guys have had since Joe Namath quite frankly He’s not a great qb But he’s way better than Rodgers is currently
He said it himself in the SI interview. He doesn't play like he has got a chip on his shoulder. He doesn't play like he has to prove somebody wrong, or he has to do more, or he has to be better. His father says, “He’s not award-driven. He’s not, ‘I want to win a Super Bowl at all costs.’ ” In short, he doesn't need to improve. He doesn't need to win games specially now that he's the 2nd highest paid QB. He is content being mediocre and losing. So yeah, he is overrated. 😂
Trevor is not a 3-10 quarterback he is very good he has been doing some amazing stuff the last few games. The thing that is letting him down really bad is the drops and defense. Trevor lost a TD in bears game cause of Gabe davis, he has had his WRs fail him fumbling the ball multiple times and his defense is letting up 20+ points per game. Trevor made a amazing throw this last game he played which got cut short by a defensive mistake he has some of the worst play calling of any headcoach watch some Jaguars games and see Trevor doing his best to carry the team and having every aspect of his team let him down it's actually depressing how much hate T-Law gets even though he gets destroyed by his team. He wasn't great the first few games but he has cleaned up a lot of fumbles and ints
It has a lot to do with the coaching he received at Clemson. He had natural talent but was woefully unprepared for the struggles of playing in the NFL. Expectations far exceeded his ability to deliver and it destroyed him. Too much money, not enough internal grit and not enough experience in overcoming adversity and not enough desire to beat the crap out of the opposing team. He's like scores of exceptional talent in HS and college where they excelled with few adversities and did not develop the gritty killer instinct needed to play in the NFL.
Yep, the same thing happened to Carson Wentz, but on a much smaller scale. Dude faced very little struggle in college, being the big fish in a small pond situation at North Dakota, so he never learned that drive, he never fixed his mechanics and it gave him a God complex the likes of which I haven't seen in sports in a while at that point. With Doug Pederson also as his coach, I don't have a lot of hope for Lawrence's future career.
He hasn't had much help since getting to jacksonville. Weak wr room, bad coaching, horrid oline, etc. Press taylor is a god awful play caller too. Not that lawrence is innocent, but not many qbs would have succeeded in jacksonville. I expect he'll be a good qb though

2021 QB class might be the most disappointing of all time. 1. Lawrence 2. Zach WIlson 3. Trey Lance 11. Justin Fields 15. Mac Jones 3 seasons later, Lawrence is the last man standing - on the verge of collapse
I don’t think Trevor has the mentality of a Baker and especially a Geno.Smith; to sign and be a backup for years to get another chance to be a starter/franchise QB. Once his confidence is gone, he gets benched and isn’t the QB1 anymore, I can’t see that being good for a dude like him.
As a Carolina fan (both CFB & NFL), I can say that Lawrence is def talented & I’ve been a fan of his game since he played for the Tigers. I can give credit when it’s due & Lawrence def has the potential to win big in the league. The talent & potential is there, they both speak for themselves. Just give him some time & I’m sure he’ll prosper
Trevor isn't as bad as people say, he just hasn't been generational, but the Jags really never gave him a chance to be generational. Weather its having the worst combined staff and roster maybe ever as a rookie entering the NFL, or having the worst D 2 years in a row, or leading the NFL in points lost on drops every single year he's been in the league by an absolute mile every year(and no its not even remotely close). He should have 14 TDs this year, but instead he has 9. And despite everyone saying he cant throw, he grades out as the best deep ball thrower in the NFL 3 years in a row. No he hasn't been a god, but the Jags are gonna Jag and it'll be an absolute miracle if Trevor can overcome that.
Actually, not being good in the NFL's worst division is that much more of a strike against him. Imagine Lawrence being in the NFC or AFC North, he'd get eaten alive.
Nothing really happened. He's not a bad QB but he had a great Clemson team and he didn't have to pick up any slack. He's adapting to the NFL just fine.
I think this is yet another example of the jump being a very real thing. The hype machine can get insane sometimes but we see the hype machine go to work on most QB classes every single year. Inevitably someone comes out of nowhere in the off season to be a first round pick. Where you go is also key to success and performance the jags like many teams have had problems developing QBs
I think it’s his offensive coordinator. They are loaded with talent. I’m a bills fan and when I watched the All-22 of the bills jags game, the offense is so basic it’s sad. The wideouts can’t get schemed open. The line doesn’t block. Its vanilla and elementary. It’s just ugly. You have etienne, bigsby, engram, Kirk, Davis, and that rookie Brian Thomas Jr is clearly the real deal. And Trevor is a good QB. They have one of the best wide receiver coach and one of the best rb coach in the game. But Doug Peterson and press Taylor’s offense is flat. So flat.
It feels the full reason trevor lawrence is failing is because he is not on good teams he has always been with bad teams because of his draft pick he got screwed
its the organization, how many quarterbacks have the jacksonville jaguars gone through in the last few years? I dont even need to search online to know the answer. If he was drafted to a competent organization, like the green bay packers he would succeed. Talent aqcuisition, development, playcalling to their strengths, all play a role in the players production.
The problem is that he isn't truly committed to football. He had all the skill in the world since high school, but if you listen to what he has said off the field, even since the elite 11 - he isn't truly commited. I mean, he does enough and has enough skill to be a starting QB in the NFL...but he isn't "all-in" on football, which means he will never be "great"
Growing up I realized some time in the 2010s that number 1 picks are rarely generational talents and rarely even close .In nfl Trevor Lawrence was a great example of this where it felt like they told us he’d be the number 1 pick since he was in high school and it seems like they made sure their media projections would come through. I saw the same thing with Zion Williamson in the nba both extremely over rated and have yet to live up to a 1/4 of the hype. It seems as if the media is deciding who to tell us is good and we should believe it no matter what we see, sad part is all that media support goes blank once they do make it to the leagues.
NFL teams don’t develop quarterbacks anymore. I mean Brock Purday has been successful because he is in a quarterback friendly system with a solid offensive line and running game to protect him. Getting pounded into oblivion by a grown ass man pass rush will change the way you do things and you get blamed. Build the team then get the quarterback
Jaguars happened. There are a ton of great quarterbacks, particularly with the rule changes that protect them so much. Lawrence is somewhere between the 10th and 20th best quarterback in the NFL- top .001% of the sport. Mahomes, Allen, Hurts, Goff, Burrow, Lamar, Dak, Herbert, Cousins, Mayfield, Love, Rodgers... Young guys are great too. The Jaguars already almost have sufficient quarterback play to win a Superbowl, they need a better overall roster and better coaching.
he’s still a good player with potential to be a top 10 qb but man the jags are a mess… Still disappointed considering he was supposed to be generational and we’ve seen guys come in recently like Daniels and Stroud turn around bad teams quickly.
i just wanna put it out there that as of week 8 he has better or simalar stats to a bunch of "elite" qbs like a better qbr, completion percentage, less interceptions, same amount of touchdowns, yet yall call him bad, you have obviously never watched him play in your lives, sure his team is awful, but he doesnt control coaching or defence, he has not had an amazing season, but its far from bad, numbers dont lie and trevor lawrence has really solid numbers, maybe not quite highest paid qaurterback numbers, but also not bad numbers
He is just another college phenom that can’t replicate their success because the NFL is truly next level. He will have to up his game to be consistently elite at the pro level. Some do, many don’t. Time will tell.
Its their offensive line. The pass protection is not good and no room to run for rbs. Travis Etienne is the bigger problem then lawrence. Hes not making those big plays anymore.
The fact that he went to Jacksonville is what has been a slow decline in Trevor Lawrence. Many were concerned that he would possibly struggle due to going to a terrible Jaguars team.
I mean, there are much worse QBs than Lawrence starting right now. I’m just saying that his “generational potential” that everyone saw coming out of college isn’t what it seems currently
Man nfl fans always talking about how much “help” a qb needs , when in reality , if Yu need that much help then Yu might not be as good as Yu should be . Everytime one of these young qbs gets “help” they dnt win , mahomes and Lamar win help or no help
I don’t think you understand how important coaching and players are. It’s a damn team sport bro and a QB can’t just win a game every time when surrounded by garbage coaches and players... Mahomes and Lamar have literally had the same high tier coaches their ENTIRE career. Not to mention Baltimores elite defense year in and year out.
@@brandonr737 I think you misunderstood how much a QB is suppose to be in charge of, Tom and Peyton had different coaches and they took care of their business. I’m aware of how important the structure of a team is , all I’m saying is he gets as much of the blame if not more as the Gm, Owner, and coach
Lamar only has regular season achievements and has an incredible team and coaching staff. Mahomes has possibly the best coach ever and his team this year might be his worst squad hes ever played with but he's still got a great team around him
To be fair. His first head coach was retired and picking up college coed’s after a loss. His current coach first season was good and made it to the AFC Divisional Round of the playoffs. Last season started strong but he got injured and that is when things started to fall apart. This season they are losing close games so something is off.
Some guys, actually a lot, don't translate to the NFL and Trevor Lawrence is one of those guys! He's always thrown the ball high and almost got one of his receivers killed in the LSU championship game with 'high throws'. People and the disgusting media need to cease blaming coaches for these players that don't prosper!
Didn't need this video. Trevor started to become a battered quarter back because the Jaguar's staff can't figure out how to draft a good and deep O-Line... And the Coaching for that O-Line is horrible...That's all there is to it. Tom Brady had a good O-Line....Brock Purdy has a good O-line.....Hurt has a good O-line.... Trevor started to get hurt and now he is running scared. After a while that plays hard on a QB. If you are not a good scrambler and runner, then you need a great O-Line and decent wide receivers (The Jags seems to lose in that category as well)...
Nothing happened to him. He was in a college system surrounded by stars who played against mostly high school level talent while in college. Like the majority of CFB "stars", he got exposed in the NFL. Meanwhile, players like Josh Allen who hail from a school like Wyoming, ball out. Because you can't hide behind other college stars in Wyoming.
I played QB on a pretty good varsity team my Jr. and Sr. years at Astronaut H.S. in '74 and '75. My Dad played QB at West Point and was the O.C. my two years as the starter. I'm certainly not in Trevor's class of athletes, as I am 5'10" on a good day and played at 160 lbs, but I watched a lot of the 22 film with my Dad and learned to read defenses and felt comfortable trying to take advantage of their vulnerabilities on the field. Along the way I watched a LOT of film of the great college and NFL QB's just studying them. I knew Trevor had a great career at Clemson but with all the talk of him being a "generational talent", and sure-fire All-Star NFL QB, I went back and looked at the film/video of his college play. The only QB's I have ever seen in college that I thought were guaranteed to be stars in the NFL, were Joe Namath, Jim Plunkett, John Elway, Dan Marino, Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. All of them jump off the screen in their biggest games in college as good or better than anyone in the NFL at that time. I just did not see greatness in Trevor...i see a big kid with a good (not great) arm, with a nice (but not laser fast) release and a good (not great) ability to run and good (not great) accuracy. To my eyes he would be a question mark as to how he would develop/adapt to the NFL.
People tend to forget in college you have the top prospects for your respective position playing with you and most games are played against colleges without top talent. Not to downplay it since any of us couldn't do it but we see it time and time again with the college to nfl transition.
Both of those games @ minute mark were both won by the defense, a pick six against Dallas and a strip sack for a TD against the Titans against their backup quarterback.
I actually dont think everyone was sure he was a generational talent. Joe Burrow was, Andrew Luck was, but I think a lot of scouts were cautious, even with a national title.
I love football but it is to much of a team sport. Like lol. You could look really bad at qb without a number of things and people Wil stil ignore it. The line has to be subpar at least. Tight end and receivers can't be to mediocre. At least get a line first and foremost. Football is to much of a team sport. 😂😂
Yeah, it’s Clemson. Playing Furman (whoever that is). And now he’s with Jacksonville, (not an organization known for building champions). Not a big mystery.
I’d like to see a dramatized adaptation of Urban Meyer’s downfall. In particular, to present the contrast in barking orders at college students and what happens when you treat grown-ass men the same way.
Sometimes is doesn’t matter how good you are, some NFL teams just seem incapable of providing the right environment, like the Browns, Jets, and even the Titans. The Lions used to be that team, I can see the Jags doing similar soon
The #1 draft pick typically goes to the team with the worst record from the previous season, but it takes more than a single player to transform a struggling team. That’s why later picks, like Brady and Rodgers, often end up finding greater success-they land in more stable environments where they can develop and thrive.
If you look into Trevor's game he is playing at a high level the amount of throws and quick decisions he makes it incredible. Trevor has really improved in terms of fumbles and INTs. He's not perfect but he plays at a good enough level maybe not worth his contract but worth being a star QB. Trevor gets let down by his team more then any other QB. His WRs have sucked for 4 years BTJ is good but it's hard to rely on one guy. Gabe Davis is selling every offensive drive and T-Law needs to score 20+ points each game cause his defense sucks. Jags are holding T-Law back.

I disagree that he’s above average.. that would mean he’s in the top 16 QBs, and he’s just not..
He is good, the problem is he got drafted by the Jags. At Clemson he had a solid team around him and that’s not the case at the Jags, if he goes elsewhere to any other team that actually has a bit of chemistry then he’ll turn into the player he’s been touted to be
he played against pathetic competition 98% of the time in college.
Stop it. He has plenty of talent. He just sucks.
2:37 I swear every highlight shown here is just an amazing play by a position player or a wide open player because of the play-call.
No wonder Lawrence is struggling in the NFL.
Define “struggling”

Trevor has TWO wins since the 2023 collapse. TWO. And it’s not like he’s throwing 30 touchdowns and playing turnover free football either. If that isn’t struggling idk what is.

@@31mbur just watch him play in the NFL. If you want an answer to your question, simply open your eyes.

He has talent, but its clear he hasn't been training well off the pitch, especially with WRs, leading to all those dropped balls.
He’s just an average QB in the NFL I didn’t believe in the hype at all when he played at Clemson. It’s all comes down to work ethic and how bad he wanted to improve year by year. He doesn’t seem interested or love the game since now he got his bag.

There's a women a few roads down from me that looks like Trevor Lawrence so much that she probably could be mistaken for his sister 😂 she looks just like him in the face with the long hair 😂
As a jets fan I’m suddenly not so upset about missing out on him that whole draft class was a nightmare for QBs
It's because of organization. NY jets, Chicago bears, jaguars. It's not QB. It's organization.

Well as a jets fan you should actually be happy with Lawrence because he is a massive improvement over any QB you guys have had since Joe Namath quite frankly He’s not a great qb But he’s way better than Rodgers is currently
How’s Zach Wilson 😅
He said it himself in the SI interview. He doesn't play like he has got a chip on his shoulder. He doesn't play like he has to prove somebody wrong, or he has to do more, or he has to be better.
His father says, “He’s not award-driven. He’s not, ‘I want to win a Super Bowl at all costs.’ ”
In short, he doesn't need to improve. He doesn't need to win games specially now that he's the 2nd highest paid QB.

He can play better
@@moalston4203 he SHOULD play better
He very rarely played any team worth a damn at clemson that's for sure. Has not changed there either.
Honestly the right team and coach along with system is crucial to success in football and any sport.
Exactly. Jared Goff is a perfect example of this. Matt Stafford too.
The same thing that happens when every quarterback gets huge contracts
He hasn't had much help since getting to jacksonville. Weak wr room, bad coaching, horrid oline, etc. Press taylor is a god awful play caller too. Not that lawrence is innocent, but not many qbs would have succeeded in jacksonville. I expect he'll be a good qb though

Panthers are the worst hands down
None of those QBs got paid 300 million to be mediocre. They all got cut & came back.
2021 QB class might be the most disappointing of all time.
1. Lawrence
2. Zach WIlson
3. Trey Lance
11. Justin Fields
15. Mac Jones
3 seasons later, Lawrence is the last man standing - on the verge of collapse
None of those QBs were really given a chance... Maybe Justin Fields had the most time to improve but not with a great organization.
Williams is killing it, not the Bears fault fields is a glorified rb posing as a qb🤡🤡
People were going nuts over this class. People were making these guys out to be the future GOATs of the NFL...before they even took their first snaps.
Can you say the same thing bout Young? Panthers fan & I don't even watch the games.
There is no Furman, Western Carolina, Citadel, or Wake Forest in the nfl.
Damn. I felt that.
Jags gonna Jag :(
The word is whether, weather is the study of the atmosphere.... Buy a dictionary

Actually, not being good in the NFL's worst division is that much more of a strike against him. Imagine Lawrence being in the NFC or AFC North, he'd get eaten alive.
“Prestigious Clemson University” 😂
And his name isn't Lawrence it's sunshine.
“RONNIE BASS!!” 😂
He needs to be with a new team that matches with his attributes.
Nothing really happened. He's not a bad QB but he had a great Clemson team and he didn't have to pick up any slack. He's adapting to the NFL just fine.
Lol 😂
So flat.
I was at that chargers game, that was a special one
He looks like sunshine💀
It feels the full reason trevor lawrence is failing is because he is not on good teams he has always been with bad teams because of his draft pick he got screwed
its the organization, how many quarterbacks have the jacksonville jaguars gone through in the last few years? I dont even need to search online to know the answer. If he was drafted to a competent organization, like the green bay packers he would succeed. Talent aqcuisition, development, playcalling to their strengths, all play a role in the players production.
One word: Jaguars
This is the correct answer
Padding his stats against terrible defenses in the ACC created unrealistic expectations.

@cssweet207 Thank you for that truth bomb, and their non conference minus SC is usually So Con.

Trevor’s career so far

3) good year 3 until succumbing to injuries.

i just wanna put it out there that as of week 8 he has better or simalar stats to a bunch of "elite" qbs like a better qbr, completion percentage, less interceptions, same amount of touchdowns, yet yall call him bad, you have obviously never watched him play in your lives, sure his team is awful, but he doesnt control coaching or defence, he has not had an amazing season, but its far from bad, numbers dont lie and trevor lawrence has really solid numbers, maybe not quite highest paid qaurterback numbers, but also not bad numbers
Idk how people can compare him to qbs like burrow who has two of the best wide receivers in the league

Because he is not playing Western Carolina and weak acc teams now.
The fact that he went to Jacksonville is what has been a slow decline in Trevor Lawrence. Many were concerned that he would possibly struggle due to going to a terrible Jaguars team.
He preferred going to the Jacksonville Jaguars, a southern town in Florida than to the New York Jets. He would have only gone to a southern team..

Put Tom Brady in his prime in the same situation and it would be the same maybe winning a handful more games but not much
Nothing happened to him.

He has been better recently, let’s see how he handles the packers
I’ll tell yall what happened, he got paid.

Blame that on the Offensive Coordinator.
Simple he made enough money to live life comfortably for next 80 years. Doesn’t need to practice football! Been there done that
Always thought Trevor Lawrence was overrated. He seems more interested in being a hair model and a surfing 🏄♀️ dude rather than being a great QB.
I actually dont think everyone was sure he was a generational talent. Joe Burrow was, Andrew Luck was, but I think a lot of scouts were cautious, even with a national title.

After being a Clemson fan and seeing Watson , and Lawrence dominate all out of college, it hurt seeing them play bad like this in the NFL
Watson should be in jail and is trash..Lawrence is a good dude in a bad system.
The #1 draft pick typically goes to the team with the worst record from the previous season, but it takes more than a single player to transform a struggling team. That’s why later picks, like Brady and Rodgers, often end up finding greater success-they land in more stable environments where they can develop and thrive.
He was picked by Jacksonville, only way he could possibly have been worse for him would have to been picked by Cleveland.
Just a tip, on your 'room tone audio' don't use a sample with a whistle. So many whistles in the middle of plays.
He went to an ACC college. His strongest opponent was FSU and Syracuse.... They made him look good.
I find it funny that every one hailed him as the greatest prospect ever, but no one wants to say anything about him being garbage.
You might credit his 'hair' for being NFL's number one pick. I say it's because he was 'head and shoulders' above the competition in college.
I am usually too lazy to comment. However, I have to commend you. This was well and tastefully done. This was actually worth the time.
Are the Jacksonville Jaguars changing the brand to match the car manufacturer?
If you look into Trevor's game he is playing at a high level the amount of throws and quick decisions he makes it incredible. Trevor has really improved in terms of fumbles and INTs. He's not perfect but he plays at a good enough level maybe not worth his contract but worth being a star QB.
Trevor gets let down by his team more then any other QB. His WRs have sucked for 4 years BTJ is good but it's hard to rely on one guy. Gabe Davis is selling every offensive drive and T-Law needs to score 20+ points each game cause his defense sucks.
Jags are holding T-Law back.

No one can save Jacksonville. He needs to go somewhere else.He will never succeed there.
