The ZV-1 II is the best budget 8-bit green screen camera because you need to match the focal length to the virtual scene and you don't need a wide aperture lens. You want to use f/5.6 for green screen to get the sharpest edges and lowest lens distortion, and increase your lighting, so a 1-inch sensor work fine. You also want bi-color or RGBW LED video light sticks and 6-inch ring lights for the bottom of the horizontal green screen and green screen on the floor.
I will be sticking with my ZV-1 Mark I In my opinion the 900$ price makes the ZV-1 Mark 2 NOT worth it. In Europe I can get the Sony ZV-E10 and the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 for about 1080 Euro with Tax or 910 Euro if you expense it as a business. And the image and video quality will be much better. The 750-800 price range is OK for an all in-one solution like the ZV-1

Thank for for being honest Jason ! Straight to the point and doesn't just highlight positives. Great review ,, we so need a new RX100 viii with a 18-200!
If you vlog with a selfie stick, the 24mm focal length on the original isn't too big a deal because you can just get a gimbal rather than a selfie stick then turn off EIS and the 24mm becomes plenty wide enough.... You only really need the extra width that the 18mm gives you if vlogging handheld which wouldn't be comfortable when facing the camera. I recently bought a nearly new ZV1 for £380 ($470) and if I put a gimbal with it, it is coming in quite a bit less still...... Having said that, I will probably just sell it on and stick with my DJI Osmo Action 3 for vlogging. An action camera is still way more practical in the real world if making vlogs alone... Nice review though!
Thank you, my dear friend, for the beautiful Mboxing and the wonderful performance. Sony is a giant company in this field Your love from the Middle East❤❤❤
It's honestly even more depressing knowing what magic lantern has done in the past couple of weeks with 12-year-old cameras, giving them the ability to record in 12-bit raw, and still here we are overpaying for bad products. I really hope someday somebody will reverse engineer these Sony cameras because I am sure the capabilities will be way better than we could even imagine.
Hahaha i’m going for ZV1 mark ii! Reasons are : Light & small, new menu, timelapse video & usb c port. Overcome certain issues: stabilisation footage (put it on tripod), 4K 60p & 10 bits ( don’t need them too heavy for my ipad mini to edit & process), & bokeh (just shoot on iphone 15 or i prefer sharpness in image than bokeh). I sold my ZVE1 & FE 24-50mm f2.8 because it is too heavy to walk around, too prominent & too profesional for my hobby.
Great in depth review! Sadly i think I'll stick with my m1 because the wide lens isn't worth losing the hfr and oss to me. I hate the micro usb so much though 😂
I love the Dummy Battery for these cameras. I can video record up to 6 hours with a small phone charger 5V 2.4A. Had this camera for a week and finding out that I keep missing the Record button and pressing the Defocus Button thinking I am recording and finding out that the camera turns itself off because it is in Standby mode. Using 1 terabyte sd card and loving it. Cheers!
@@bradl2636 SanDisk Extreme Pro 1tb V30. It is slow in transferring 60gb files, but the storage is fantastic. I have used the V90 which are faster but more expensive. The ONLY reason to upgrade is if you do VLOG. Apart from that, M1 is a better overall camera. Especially with IBIS. It’s a shame M3 has no 4K60, no 10Bit, no S-Cinetone, etc…
Thank you Jason, never watched any of your vlogs but these came up because I am just a starter and thinking of beginning to make vlogs. Thanks for your comprehensive comparison. I only hear yes it's great or better than ZV-1 of course but still. Thanks again!
They should’ve kept the price the same. Just buy the ZV-1 and a cage, and the Ulanzi lens adapter and you’ve fixed the main problems and it still cheaper. If not get the ZVE-10 because the camera itself is better and you can get a good lens that’ll make the quality much better then the ZV-1 ll. If they kept the price the same it would’ve been perfect. But oh well😢
tbh, if the iPhone can do 10 Bit 4K 60 Video without any issues and also technically give you more reach(the Ultrawide is 13mm and you have the Telephoto which is 77mm), does all this at the same price as this, easier to use and also is your phone, i don't really find this being compelling, Sony is artificially knee capping this camera, please Sony don't ruin the ZV E10 MkII
The key thing is that Sony doesn't seem to have the technology to manage heat when using 60p or 10bit of lightweight bodies, especially the soft skin on the M4, and sometimes there was a difference in heat
I wish sony will make the next zv1 mark 3 just like RX100 vii. With bigger body for bigger battery, stabilisation, nd filter, better screen and manual lens control like RX100
Sony confuses me with the z-line cameras. I'd rather see Sony focus on getting it right first time and updating the camera via free or paid firmware. Between the zv1, ZVf, zv1m2 are too many trade offs and not the speak about the ze-10.... I'd love to see Sony upgrade the a6400l6600 series.
zv-10, had it over a year, one of my best purchases and I often use one a lens of my pro sony such as the 24mm gm 1.4, or if i want oss use a 10-18 for a nice wide shot , even once tried my 100-400 on it - holding the lens rather than the camera and that gave me a huge zoom with oss and sharp images, such a versatile camera, why bother with a zv 1 mk 2?
With the latest compact updates to Zv-e1 and now the zv -1 M2, could this mean we are working towards a new a7c with 4K 60p Or a higher megapixel count. 🧐
Personally, I feel sony could have done better with this camera. 4k60 and at least have the f1.8-f2.8 with OS at the 18mm-35mm at minimum. It seems there was more compromises then benefits when compared the original one. The original zv-1 had better quality for both video and photo while the mark2 is limiting the photo perks and focusing more on the AI and video aspects but only for the 18mm wide settings.

The aperture is a real problem. First, it shrinks too quickly across the zoom range. Well we have seen that in the RX100s. Sony prioritise sharpness over wide aperture.
