Great video on methodic fault finding, one of my absolute favourite tasks! One tiny addition: the water heater MCB probably caused the RCD to trip because any large loads are likely to trip the RCD in case of a N-E fault. The first time I witnessed a fault like that it was either the chest freezer or the cooker, randomly. The actual fault was in a drowned exterior light.
19:00 I have seen these brushes used for brushing off the oxide layer on aluminum conductors. 240mm^2 cables and those dimensions. Also use some kind of grease on the same AL conductor
These videos are invaluable to me as someone learning electrical installation. I started in mechanical engineering, moved to control electrical, so PLCs, relays, fault finding machine panels, etc. Now getting my NVQ in electrical installation on an adult learning course. I find electrical forums are very hostile, always have been. Nobody seeming to want to share any knowledge. They don't care you have 12 years in the industry, if you don't know the current carrying capacity of every cable off by heart you're underqualified and shouldn't be anywhere near electrics. Maybe it's the same people you were talking about in the other video. And yes, old stuff from lofts and cellars is a segment I'd be interested in
I like videos about EV's........especially when they catch on fire.....very entertaining. Its a bonus when other EV's nearby are also burned, or the building gets burned down. Electric Buses are just spectacular.
Great video. 22:30 the laser was flashing because it wasn't upright enough so it couldn't auto self level btw, was worried your markings would be way out 😁
Hmmm. Are you certain? My Bosch auto levelling laser switches off if it's too far off level, but will flash (like in the video) when the batteries are low.
@@thecorbies Yeah mate, with the dewalt it flashes like that if it can't self level, and it's got a red indicator on the side of the unit that flashes if the batteries are low.
Dating things by news paper is always a fun one - unless someone just threw a chest from a window during a house clearance, and you find the news paper in it was from 1890..
Ref. to Loft finds.. In the mid 1980's I found all wrapped up in hesian an as new mint condition Lee Enfield bolt action 303 ww2 rifle... No bullets were found !! I took it down stairs to the very elderly old chap ,. He casually explained that it was his Home Guard issued weapon .. one was issued by the mod per village in 1940... It stood in his kitchen for the entire duration of the work.... God knows what happened to it afterwards.... 100 % gods honest truth.
It was shorting through the water ingress so was intermittent. The water heater I think was tripping on start up by coincidence trying to mislead me! 😆
It could just be the load, N-E faults can do odd things like this. With no load the RCD holds as N & E bars in the CU are at the same voltage hence no current flows through a N-E fault. When a load is turned on it causes current to flow in the neutral and thus it’s voltage rises slightly (owing to cable resistance), the neutral bar voltage is then higher than the earth bar and current will then flow via the N-E fault and trip the RCD. It may not even be a load on the same RCD, the same board or even in the same premises that causes this voltage difference (though as it is TN-CS it will be in the same premises as N&E are derived from the same point in the service head).
Hi Cory / Jordan can you please tell me the make of the armoured cable cleats that you use they look good where you just drill and knock them in 👍 keep up the good work lads
Apparently rolling cable off the drum never works due to the diameter of the outer sides being larger than the diameter of the inner ring where the cable is...who knew! 😂😂😂
With all the EV Charger videos I have seen, my main gripe is that the leads always look messy. Why hasn't someone created a retractable cable one for neatness, like airlines in garages.
Noooooo, never use the laser when it's flashing, it's past it's 3 degrees self leveling capabilities, the laser line won't be level, you need to re adjust the laser until its solid green. none of your sockets are level
Excellent videos guys really enjoying your work, what brand of masonry bits do you recommend? I have tried lots of different brands and most are good for drilling sponge, thanks.
As a Finn I take offense at someone calling that glorified Narnia portal a sauna. It’ll need a 3-phase supply to be a proper sauna, or better yet, a chimney.

Welcome back to the Cory Show!!
Entertaining, funny, educational oh did I say entertaining?!!!!?
Nice methodical fault find at the gym. Fault finding is also one of my favourite jobs.
Thanks a lot! Your feedback is a big help to the Ferret community. 👍🏻👍🏻

Great vlog as always.
Why do customers never move anything out of the way when they know the sparky is coming the next day??
Really annoys me, I just work slower, they pay me by the hour. I always advise them what to move before hand, but they seldom do.
GREAT TO SEE THE GUYS WEARING SAFETY SPECS..
The "Scratchy" brush is called a wire brush and is used to clean off metalwork.
You could've just said you didn't get the joke!
Yes do it! Love to see a compilation of Artisan Archaeology clips.
Love Cory's videos. Welcome Luke to the Artisan team.
nice job Cory and Luke 😀 cant wait for part two

Re the wire brush, my dad used one to clean the rust off the roofing iron when I was quite young. We called it the giant's toothbrush!

Brown water plumbers job 😀 - that shed has more ways than most houses, hope it’s got a good feed down there.
Brown water job 🤣🤣🤣
I enjoy your videos; takes me back 60 years to my time as an apprentice!
If you wrap that charge cable the other way around the Tesla charger, the plug would of gone into the base much cleaner. 😁 Keep up all the good work.
awesome job very neat and clean.
Those cable clips are really neat, look so clean when fitted!
Another great fined for the team welcome Luke as always great job Cory.
Great episode, we want more fault finding videos!
Great job guys 😎

Top quality videos now Artisan! I'm not even an electrician, but enjoyed the journey!
Thanks!
Good ol’ Cleveland Cable company. Love it!

Loving the videos, quick one, what brand are Cory's & Reuben's trousers? They look really good and versatile.
Blåkläder
At 14.25 mins does that fridge have a TV built in when you closed the door
Great video
Great watch Cory ,cracking board perhaps the Bundy boys snuck in beforehand.
Tool of the day Bump Cap 😂 great job
How did the water heater MCB suddenly become external sockets on the N/E fault find?
It was shorting through the water ingress so was intermittent. The water heater I think was tripping on start up by coincidence trying to mislead me! 😆
@@corynoahmacThanks. Still confused, I’ll watch that again.

Hey Cory,Jordan is about 35,I would have thought you'd know how old your boss is 😂😂I dont think he's 54 somehow😁😁⚡⚡⚡
@Cory what hair gel or wax do you use? I'm trying to find a good one but I've had no luck so far.
If you grab the cable drum lower on the closest edges and give it some spin as you push it, it will unroll
Players Navy Cut - my mum smoked them when I was a nipper in the 1960s, before advancing to much more refined Embassy tipped!
I like the fault finding videos
What are those swa clips called?
Can anybody tell me what the metal shelving in the garage section of theis video is, That's exactly what I'm looking for.
Cory did you get an idea of the test meters value?????
Another top video lads
Hi what’s the tester model please is the Klein or fluke thanks
Tip, when your laser flashes, it is not level! 😂
that test meter was amazing hahah i want one
Didn’t realise Tony Bellew was a also a spark 🤣🤣🤘🏻😜
20:40 That's a box joint.

Linian super clips 👍
I'm thinking you all placed those wine glasses there just to mess with us!
Hahahahahahaha. Gravity - needs an update. Excellent.
Great job

13.20 you mean the trusty suicide plug
How old is Corey? Looks anywhere between 20 and 30
You sure Luke isn't David Bellew in disguise 😂
Soft you sparkies 🤣🤣

Usually yes, but our level is broken and won’t stop flashing 😂. Hence the level for the double check at the end
