Very interesting video on how to use brix Refractometer to assess and improve the plant health and also it will greatly help the jack & other Farmers across the world.

I find it really fascinating seeing how the trees' nutrient levels can change throughout the different seasons. Ian

Very cool, unique way of getting data about your trees. I'll guess 10 for the abiu.

Thank you so much for this information, I feel here in NZ not alot of people are talking about refractor meters, so thank you very much

Glad you found it useful, I find it fascinating how much information you can get from it and how much readings can change from dull winter period to summer time.

Is there a book with details on how to identify some of the results from brix test testing

I don't know a book ,but we got our information from articles on the internet. A great source is a gentleman called Graeme Sait.

Why is it, that when I use a garlic press to press my leaves, I do not get juice I get minced leaves. What am I doing wrong?

It can be difficult sometimes, if we have an issue, we will try adding more leaves as we crush.

Just bought one last week. Nothing touches my jackfruit. How do I deal with custard apples 😮 almost every leaf has holes in it and constantly picking off caterpillars

We have grasshoppers targeting our young jackfruit when we plant them out. I think it's due to the high nitrate nitrogen in the potting mix. We are using neem oil We bought on the internet (much cheaper)

Google Dr. Tom Dykstra, he is an entomologist who has done some great work with plant health & pest susceptibility. He has a really good chart explaining the correlation between brix levels and different types of pests. We can go in and bandaid the problem with bug sprays etc but we really need to fix the cause. What is the brix level of your custard apple compared to your jackfruit?

Man it’s so hard to hear what she’s saying over the insects in the background. A mic would be so helpful! 😢

Welcome to the tropics 😉 I think even a mic would have a hard time competing with some of our critters! There are some evenings where we can't even hear the TV as the crickets & frogs are deafening!
Thanks for your suggestion. We are always trying to improve our videos (bearing in mind we are farmers and not professional videographers) and have so far purchased a tripod & selfie stick, video editing & music software, at cost to ourselves.
We are also trying to add subtitles to all our videos which may help, but this is time consuming, on top of time already spent recording & editing the videos and running the farm.
      Thanks for watching 😊
