    The excitement in your voice is priceless haha I have a 79 f100 step side. I've been dreaming of doing a coyote swap.

    I drove a 1972 f100 custom cad to high school in early 90s and it has been in a field sense then.Thanks to your TH-cam series we are in the middle of a coyote swap.The question I have for you is if you were to leave the fuel cell behind the seat how would you make it work with the return/pressure needed for a the coyote ?

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me- a giant fuel tank inside the truck is a bad idea. But-- if I were going to do it, I would use an external electric EFI pump from ebay and take the tank out, clean it out of all fuel and vapor. Then I'd add a return fitting and make sure the whole tank was vented to the outside. That way, the pump is outside and the return line is leak free. Good Luck and thanks for watching!! (lots more coyote builds on the channel, see other videos)

    So am i to understand that the truck coyote and the Mustang Coyote 5.0 are the same? I was under the impression the truck motor was a slightly detuned version of the Mustang engine. Thanks for the help.

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very subtle difference in power output. With the right tune in it- we make the same power as a tuned Mustang of the same year. Be not afraid of the F150 Coyote motors-- you can upgrade and expand them exactly as you would a mustang (cams, boost, etc) and at the end of the day- they'll both make exactly the same power. Bone stock, yes the F150 makes a little less than the Mustang. A Coyote is a Coyote... Both will bite you ! :) Thanks for watching!

    @Jimmyxsx 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thats not a truck 5.0L thats a Mustang 5.0L you can tell by the engine cover. Unless they put the mustang engine cover on.

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, those 5.0L engine covers are readily available all over the internet, fairly cheap. They fit all 11-14 5.0 engines, Also, the 15-18 covers fit all 5.0 motors too. Thanks for watching!

    • @shotemup123
      @shotemup123 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      COYOTE5.0 POWERED you can put the cover on the f150 motors. My coyote swap has the cover. Plus he has the f150 intake on it and the oil filter is different on mustangs and f150s and it matches my f150 motor. It's an f150 motor

    Coyote motor is a mustang motor?

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Coyote Engines are the 302 Modular 5.0L from the 2011-18 F150's AND Mustangs. Mustang Versions produce more power, but they're both Coyote engines. Thanks for watching!

      Grenade Motorsports If you had a 2017 mustang motor could you put it in your f100 ? Thanks for your responce .

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes- See the other videos- The most recent is a 2017 MUSTANG engine in a 1950 Studebaker. We can do almost anything! F100's are a breeze and so much fun! Thanks for watching!

    You say you can get a harness made for your application relatively cheap. Can you let me know who makes that harness and what the price is? Also, what harness are you using to run the 6r80 trans? Thanks!

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, Ron Francis makes Coyote wiring and so does HotWire. After doing several of these builds- save yourself the ass ache and pop for the ford performance stuff. The 6R80 controller? See the latest update on this build- it explains everything. Thanks for watching!! th-cam.com/video/q8oqLHoeiCg/w-d-xo.html&lc=UgyOiNnr9PXDgPsW5e14AaABAg

    Where did you buy the engine?

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of our engines come from salvage yards all across the country. Wherever we can find low mile motors for low mile money! Thanks for watching!

    have you considered doing another Ford pickup with a v6 Ecoboost engine

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ecoboost? No. I can do it for someone if they're paying, but I'd never choose that engine.

  • @nautn

    Nice work! So, how much more space does the Coyote engine take up vs, the Windsor engines?

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're a little taller, a little wider at the top. But nothing that can't be dealt with. Awesome modern power! If you're considering it- Just do it! Thank you for watching!

    I'm back. ..well it started with a screwdriver to the solenoid and it started up. .and I bought a new ignition switch and tried it to see if it worked, and Same problem. .

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There could be a short in the wires, if it starts with a screwdriver and stays running, but not with the key, it's not getting the "start/Run" signal, run temporary wires from the key cylinder to the solenoid to test. :)

    I'm getting ready to do the same swap on a '70 so I'll be following this closely. Do you have a build thread for this on any forums?

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do actually. It's on Retro Rides, a UK based forum. Getting ready to stick it in the hole and see what's what. Front clip is off. Videos coming next week. :)

    I'm having trouble with my ford truck 1972 ford 250 ,doesn't turn over, no no start. .replaced battery, starter, alternator, solenoid, Coil, voltage Regulator, and the ignition is good

      joser Ojeda ignition switch is bad

    • @joserojeda6733
      @joserojeda6733 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Johnathan Williams I'm thinking it's the wiring behind the switch, I bought a new ignition switch and it didn't turn over..but it started with Me putting a screwdriver to the solenoid and it started right up. .so I'm thinking it has to be an easy fix, it's a shop buy there taking there time on it. ..also I don't know if my ignition coil wires are connected right. .I know one goes to the solenoid and one that looks like it's going to the ignition. .if u can help me out ...about the coil wiring. .thank you buddy..

    Awesome...wish that was my truck! If that motor came out of a truck it may not quite be "100" hp more but still better than a 4.6.

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      With the Ford performance pack ECU and the custom tune we're putting in it- this will be very close to 500hp. :)
