    • @glenndiorio8967
      @glenndiorio8967 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Like most YT vids, they only show you "stuff". I just did Gen1 on an '02 GT and everything works, even the tach. Although my tach bounces a bit 1400-2k and working on that. You really need a wiring diagram to know exactly what to keep/delete. For me, I used 5 wires in the 42pin connector, others de-pinned. You also don't need two reducers to get the water temp sender in, just need one.

    • @ditrekbegin183
      @ditrekbegin183 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@glenndiorio8967Do you feel like giving a little advice? Unfortunately mine was a 95 (V6) not a new edge, which seems more common. I've wired the tach to my cluster, but it's off by probably 400-600, but I feel like that's mostly cause it's a V6 cluster. Could be wrong. My speedo is the one I'm really trying to find out. I have 2 wires that say "speed dial" so does that mean I need to buy a speed dial? My OSS wire is being read from the computer since I have an MT82 in my swap (factory for the coyote) so the OSS wire was simple re-pinning on the CP harness. Do I NEED to run those 2 "speed dial" wires into a speed dial then my cluster? I tried wiring it directly to the cluster, and no dice..

    • @glenndiorio8967
      @glenndiorio8967 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ditrekbegin183 I believe your 95 used a VSS and not an OSS which can/will cause the problem. From what I've read, you'll need a "converter" i.e. speedcal device or some other way to change the signal. VSS is a generator type and the OSS is a magnetic hall effect type. With OSS the PCM controls it all and your '95 wasn't equipped to handle that. Thus the need for a change. I believe you can also use a magnet setup on your d-shaft and sensor to send the signal, but not sure. Also, the speedcal devices seem to have gone the way of the DoDo bird. Extinct! Good luck.

    • @ditrekbegin183
      @ditrekbegin183 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@glenndiorio8967 Thank you for explaining that to me! I've been confused about it, but that makes more sense. I guess I just assumed the cluster would pickup the signals, and I could tune it via the PCM. I also see what you mean by they're extinct. That's goofy. Is there another way around it? I don't think Lethal Nate uses the speed dial, but I could be wrong. I think he does something like using the old PCM. Apologies if I sound like a DoDo, this is an adventure for me!

    • @glenndiorio8967
      @glenndiorio8967 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ditrekbegin183 If you had a 'VSS' dash and generator, you don't need the PCM. It could be wired direct. In your case, you have a 'VSS' dash but no signal generator. The OSS signal is delivered to the dash via CAN BUS in the PCM. An option you have is Dakota Digital dash, but it's a cost. However, it can handle any mod you through at it. Even fix you tach issue!

    Problem with using leaving stock PCM in check engine light on all the time and speedo was way off. We removed stock PCM, wiring, control box and used aftermarket cluster when we did coyote swap in my brothers 01 cobra. That he wanted control pak relay/fuse box in that spot so that's what I did. Problem Now he wants A/C after 2 yrs not having it LOL. Not a problem have to build harness, relay box and move fuel pressure regulator. Have to use aftermarket condenser because stock one don't fit aftermarket alum radiator. I'm a tech so wiring not a issue at all for me. I deal with far more harder wiring mess on big trucks with everything being datalink now.

    • @lsk1l3r25
      @lsk1l3r25 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      pdmustgt d we used hptuners and paid for 2 credits to turn check engine light off. Why spend $800 or more on a aftermarket cluster when can make the stock cluster work just fine?

    • @pdmustgtd1013
      @pdmustgtd1013 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why have all that extra wiring and PCM you don't need. I've seen cluster fuck mess with other wanting to use stock cluster. There is aftermarket cluster far cheaper than 800 or you can even build one too very cheap too.

    • @lsk1l3r25
      @lsk1l3r25 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you know what you are doing the wiring job can be done to look like stock factory wiring. I’ll leave me 2 pound stock ecu and enjoy my factory cluster and my ice cold A/C and have it look like it belongs in the car.

    • @pdmustgtd1013
      @pdmustgtd1013 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not hard to make harness from terminal to terminal I have crimping tools. Since you say looking like it belongs where did you stuff control pak relay box in glove box? My brother wanted it in that spot where stock PCM was at. I can make A/C blow cold air too not hard at all. I have 03 Ranger Level II with 01 explorer V8 very easy, A/C work, stock tach reads correctly, Speedo works correctly. anti-thief work, chip key works. all 4x4 works. With wiring you do not use stupid crimp connections everything is soldered and shrink tube "the good stuff".... I'm a tech I do tons of wiring troubleshooting, making harness and datalink harness between computers. Some of older semi's some harness are no more either find one from junkyard or make it

    • @pdmustgtd1013
      @pdmustgtd1013 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also at the time we did have stock PCM working but with ABS and Check engine light on. Didn't have everything in place yet just testing. He didn't want to buy another tuner and then buy another tune from tuning guy. Already had to buy tuner for coyote and tune and do it again just to make stock cluster to work better off buying aftermarket cluster for same price. He like digital dash with real oil pressure gauge not like factory gauge is. Which is really oil pressure switch shows oil pressure on the gauge with anything above 6psi
