Chevy impala Ignition key will not turn/Will not start/you may think you need a new ignition/ No!!!

So in this video I have a Chevy Equinox ,Saturn Vue ,Pontiac torrent, Pontiac Grand Prix. And the key is not turning this is what I did to fix mine hopefully this will help you fix yours quick easy and painlessly. Well painlessly except for the trip to the stealership !! Anyways we end up going down to the dealership because our key was just plain and simply worn out we didn’t need to replace the ignition we just needed to replace the keys I replaced ignition’s and then several times they do break but this is a quick alternative over doing all of that work. Hey clay how do you get a key switch out without the key.

I had a 2007 chevy impala, last time I used it I abandoned it because would not start. It happened after using remote start, window rolled down by itself and would not raise up. It finally would not start after stopping at a shopping center parking lot.
I was told the remote start probably shorted out the ignition or the "car brain" and either expensive to fix.
I tried waiting 10 minutes, nothing. Car was old so probably just gave out.
Should I have kept it or was it a lost cause if the remote start created a malfunction?

I havea 2012 and someone tried to take out the ignition to steal it. I got a new key made but it's still locked. Is there a security lock on it?

What about a sluggish start after the key turns. Almost like the battery is dead. But then it will start...it runs ok after the sluggish start. Worried

Did you replace the ignition switch? Sounds like a textbook case of a bad switch.

You can get one from a locksmith, they can read the original key & duplicate it, alil pricey tho round 80
