Hello from Philippines! This is I think the first vid on a famous youtube channel that features our dangerous roads. And yes it's true it's dangerous hahahaha and btw mat some of us here pronounce E.D.S.A as edsa. Combining words is the right term I think? And also we pronounce roxas as rohas. I just share this to you so that you are aware and other viewers here. Keep safe always! love your vids!

When I was a kid we took a trip from Sao Paulo to the South! On our way back, there were 5 overturned lorries out of the road on the BR 116! It was night and very wet, my father used the 4x4 of his old Hyundai Galloper the hole way to get better grip. It happened at the exact part of the road that Mat pointed out! What an eventful lovely night it was!

Hey Mat, I'm one of your fans from Kenya. The road you just mentioned is mostly dangerous in December due to the fact that many people are rushing in the Countryside for Christmas Holiday.

We have A LOT of dangerous roads, most of which is in the Himalayas but recently they did add railings, paving the roads, and improving the safety overall
I live in metro Manila and as I was watching this I kept thinking ''wow these roads are really scary! Looks like as bad as our roads are we won't be on this list.'' Then no. 4 and 3 came up... We use those roads all the time!! It seems I am already disensitized by how dangerous they truly are! Really interesting vid, Mat!

Hi Matt, I'm From Colombia and I Saw a lot of your Videos. In my country are a lot of Dangerous Roads, for different reasons ( no road Signals, no lanes, and imprudent, uncivilized and reckless Drivers), the majority of accidents they're involved 🚕 and motorcycles.

Ah, I-45 Dallas to Houston. I used to live in Dallas for many years and there were always accidents on that highway. Am surprised some of the ring roads around Dallas and Houston didn't make the list. I used to have to drive the (then) northern ring road, I-645, from home to work. Bad enough with the number of lanes going in each direction, but several major interchanges with bridges flying in all directions and you had to be on alert for their traffic merging into multi-lane heavy traffic. At night it was notorious for motorcyclists greatly exceeding the speed limit and weaving between lanes and cars. Almost as bad was a section of I-30 from east of Rockwall, Texas to the massive interchange in downtown Dallas where it intersected with I-45. I always felt I was taking my life in my hands when I went that route. But they are minor compared to those highways through the Himalayas and in South America.

Damn, that isn't that unusual here in the States. Small prop planes that can't make it to an airport use wide roads or occasionally Interstates to land. Surprisingly I don't hear of them causing that many accidents. Guess if you can see an aircraft coming in low lined up with the road, it's a good sign to slow down and maybe pull over!

In Germany we have around 13000km of Autobahn, 70% of it unrestricted and around 400 deaths per year, out of which only a part is due to speeding.

Being from South Africa and now living in the UK (only been here for a week, but still), I have seen a huge difference in the driving manners between here and back home. I was very nearly involved in what would have likely been a fatal accident on the N2. People just do not care about others on that road in particular. Do not miss the minibus taxi's that's for sure.

Here's an idea for a fun video!!
How about best new cars you can still buy with a manual gearbox?! And I'm aiming more towards the normal car market not the sports car market. Because more and more new cars at the moment are going towards only being able to buy them with automatic transmissions, and so finding ones in manual is becoming harder and harder. And some people in the world, like my dad, still only want to buy manual cars.
So yeah, I hope you read this and make it into a fun future video!! ❤️
