TBH will you miss the 6 cylinders? you know the 4 cylinders sound not that well compared to the 6 one.

The 718 is tighter, more sporty and love the sport exhaust more better! Fills like I’m on a joy ride. A guy pulls up beside me looked at my car and his cigarette fell out of his mouth! True story

Great review! I preferred the song of the F6, but notwithstanding that the 718 is a great car. The options are superfluous to the base car. The standard suspension is good. Don't get PDK or painted air vents, etc., and these can be had in the low 60s.

Why is that so? I had the car for 3 years now and always used it whenever I can. Never had any issues.

No, that is just a dedicated location to store your phone. The facelift 991 generation 911s have that too, but unfortunately, no wireless charging.

I had the 718 Cayman spec-ed to almost similar to this one here and I never regretted any of it. It just has the flair the Audi TT does not have and the Porsche Sports Exhuast really does sound great! Sadly had to let it go now because I am trading it for the Taycan 4S. Back to watch the video because I am missing my Cayman so much. Haha.
The Cayman looks better than the Boxster.....with it's top up. Which is the trade off for any convertible. However, take the top down, and the Boxster wins.

This 2.0L in the 718 isn't the same as the 2.0L found in the Porsche Macan. Macan uses the 2.0 from borrowed Audi Q5, however the 4 cylinder boxer found in the 718 is directly from the same engine block as the 911's 6 cylinder.
The older Boxster and Cayman's used the same boxer 6 cylinder engine block as the Porsche 911, and the 4 cylinder 718 sure seems like a huge downgrade.

Except it's better than ever before.
The 718 engine is a huge upgrade, it makes the old seem laboured and sluggish. It’s quieter and has enormous power everywhere, but that doesn’t stop the daft comments sadly. I switched from a 987 to 718 and am delighted by, boy do the exhaust noise clones irk.

The 718 is a fantastic car and quite a lot better than older Boxster.

They do bring it here, but chances are you cant get it even if you have the money cos it's limited

I think the sound is OK for me because its almost like the real 718 racecar. It sounds Grunty....
M Heisenberg There’s a difference between corvette and Porsche. Porsche is quality, corvette is quantity over quality. Corvette will never have the craftsmanship of Porsche or the elegance of it. The corvette has cheap plastic in it while the Porsche doesn’t have anything cheap in it. The corvette might have better performance but it will never ever be like a Porsche. The corvette is a 6.2 liter supercharged v8 while the Porsche 718 is a turbo boxer 4. Of course it will be faster, Porsche is for people with a taste of elegance while corvette is for people who want to look good for cheap. You will look good with Porsche because of the quality and exoticness of it. The corvette isn’t even an exotic car or considered a super car. The c7 corvette Is for wannabe exotic car owners. The c8 might be different but I don’t think it will be as elegant as the Porsche.

That’s not the GT wheel. I have the GTwheel. There are no buttons on it. Only the drive selector.

GC Mah Well, there are precedents in America and the UK where the authorities come after individuals who have posted videos of them speeding.
Because of this, most of them avoid filming the speedometer while driving or blur it out.
I guess there is no such thing in Malaysia yet soo..... 😅

Wow its like going back in time to 1990 and my Toyota MR2 Turbo. I guess the constant emissions laws are really starting to kill the sports car. This should have been a 6 cylinder turbo, its a no brainer. This is a HUGE downgrade and not even what I consider an upgrade from my now nearly 30 year old car.

What the heck.. Annoying music spoils the vid.
It's too bad Porsche screwed up the styling and exhaust sound of the 718. Even though it has improved performance over the previous Cayman, it has lost that magic flat 6 sound which is why I'll keep my 981. The Cayman was never about all out performance anyway. It has always been about the driving experience as a whole and is where the 718 comes up short.

I wish there's more detailed explanation about the handling of the car rather than using cliche expression like "brilliant" and "fun to drive" etc so that the viewers can get as much information possible to compare it to rivals.
This is enough complaints about the engine, and they’re getting extremely annoying. Why cant you guys just enjoy a Porsche for a Porsche? Have you ever heard it in real life? Then you’d know whether it sounds bad or good. I own one, and it sounds horrible in this video. Irl it sounds BETTER than the flat six. But I do realize all these people complaining about the engine aren’t true Porsche fans, and will probably never be able to afford one of these.
Just because someone can’t afford a certain car doesn’t mean their opinion isn’t valid. Your car doesn’t sound good to the majority of people - whether or not they own sports cars - and that’s a fact. Just continue enjoying your car for what it is and stop putting down people for criticizing something you like.
