The top fifty marks in the AFL should be your next one. These would have be suspended. That punch not rough play should not have been included, it was given many weeks and he was disgraced for it.
The head is sacrosanct. Hit somebody n the head and you'll cop weeks suspension. Some of these are not illegal - where both players have eyes for the ball - the contact is deemed to be "incidental" However when a player elects to target the player and makes contact with the head, that's illegal. the punch was considered a dog act and the player concerned was suspended for between 6 and 8 weeks. To be fair big hits of this nature and impact are relatively rare, but in a fast-paced, collision sport inevitable.
Hilarious Reaction video as always bro.. I was mainly laughing at your reactions to the video because I couldn't stand the brutal attacks. It's seems the attacks keep on getting "worse" and more hurtful every clip!! Can't wait to see what's installed for Part 2 😂😎😢😷🙈🚑
Some of those hits were legal at the time of the game, others weren’t if its an illegal hit which is generally above the shoulders or below the knees most of the time it’s a free kick (penalty or foul) if the on field umpire deems it to be especially bad they will put the player on report which means that player will have to face a tribunal of judges who will decide based on the footage, the damage done to the other player and the offenders record. In most cases a fine of anywhere between $500 and $3000 can result, the other option generally reserved for worse cases is to suspend the player for a number of weeks depending on the severity. For example a punch that knocks a player out will result in an 6-12 match ban. I’m an accredited umpire (referee) so I’m happy to help answer any rule based questions you may have. Hope it helps, love your videos I’m a subscriber
Lmfao bro your gold🤣 im from oz and yea thats our fantastic game!!! And yes big fines and suspension for majority of those hits lol. Just subscribed keep the videos comin bro!!!
Some of the hits don't get charged as illegal (we usually call them legal if it is not intentional) so most of these are technically legal, you are not supposed to tackle/hit a player late or high otherwise you will be put in front of the MRP (match review panel) or in a tribunal where you will either be given a fine or a suspension for how ever many weeks the panel deems acceptable, the panel look at things such as if the impact is high, low or medium to the player and where the player was hit etc. The longest suspension that has been given is 8 games, the guy that punched someone in this video received 8 games for this, there was also an incident similar to that this season (makes me sick) . Also if the umpire (referee) reports the hit it is automatically atleast 3 weeks suspension but you will go in front of the MRP and they will decide if you need 3 weeks or more.
Enjoying the commentary mate, I'll just add a something I read from another commentator. In most contact sports, the other team is directly in front of you, so you can see where the hits are coming, in Aussie Rules they can come from all sides. The most courageous marks are usually when they are running blind with the flight of the ball directly into the pack of players moving towards them. That's like running into a bus if it goes wrong. We saw Nick Riewoldt in this clip do it which you did single out, Jonathon Brown is another good example. That takes a tonne of guts.
Subbed - also watch here comes the boom. It's a good mantage of the afl's biggest hit and bumps. Also, you can react to the finals games going on right now, as it is viewed by millions of Aussies and around 100,000 people go to each game. Cheers
The player in the blue and white hoops (Tom Lonergan) involved in the collision at 3:18 lost a kidney (almost died) in a similar collision a few years before and still had the courage to contest that mark and many others during his career (retired last year). "I can't do it". C'mon. Man up dude.
You should react to the australian hip hop song Underrated by Chillinit and Wombat. Chillinit is first half of the song and Wombat is a the second half
There were much bigger hits in the 60s and 70s. They've tightened up a lot since then. Many of these were illegal and immediate penalties would have applied. Suspensions of up to eight games as well.
ROFL Bro.. If you are 5 meters (8 yards) within the football itself, any kind of attack from the hip or shoulder is fair game, as long as you don't target the head directly. Many of these hits will have been reported by an umpire, and penalties against the player decided by the AFL Tribunal. Typically there will be either/or a fine, or play suspension for 1-3 weeks, depending on culpability (accidents to happen often on an AFL footy field - it's the nature of the game).
Those aren’t technically illegal hits in games, but for sure some of these were unnecessary so then the player delivering the hit would get usually a 2 game suspension and around a $700 fine
1:54 that player that got knocked out also come back on in the last quarter and continued playing, however with the concussion protocol now once you have been diagnosed by the team doctor with concussion then that is it you are done for the game and are not allowed to come back on even if its just symptoms and you feel fine but back then there was no protocol. Also that hit was actually fair, Harbrow was just trying to spoil the ball and it was just a bad pass that put Lewis in a bad spot.
half of these are fair tackles! Hip n Shoulders! i case you missed this post from other vid. th-cam.com/video/KvXSlgCMfho/w-d-xo.html This is the AFLW!
These are all just fan-made videos. There could be 10 different “biggest hits” videos. None are official or definitive - it’s just some random opinion. You’ll never get an accurate AFL video anyway. Not all matches were televised prior to the late 90s, and very few were recorded prior to TV.
NepDaStep don’t get me wrong, there’s still plenty out there, it’s just not comprehensive. The AFL does have a TH-cam channel which has some official videos.
Also, the idea of “biggest hits” videos is pretty silly. It’s a tough contact sport, but nowhere near as brutal as rugby league for example, and Aus football’s most brutal moments are long gone - most of which weren’t captured on video because of how long ago it was.
Shmick ! i wouldn't say its not as brutal to be honest, while rugby players might me more physically bigger then AFL players they do have the luxury of knowing roughly where the hit is going to come from, while afk being a 360 degree sport it could come from anywhere, its a lot easier to get blind sided in AFL. in my opinion the bravest thing a sports player in Australia can do is running back with the flight of the ball knowing you can get hit at any time especially with the faster pace of AFL. in terms of physicality they really cant be compared as its two completely different situations and body builds, Rugby players are built to take and break hits from other players, AFL players are built to be able to run 10+km a game , kick long and jump high as well as being strong enough to take a few hits so they cant just go out there all bulked up with muscle or there bodies will break down before a season is finished.
Comment new reactions🤙🏽

Thanks for clearing that up for me 👍
Spot on Mark. When a player elects to jump into head of the player going for the ball, it's bad, but most of them happen as a genuine part of play.
You also forgot to mention that a player can't be ejected from the game (like a red card in soccer).

when you get suspended for these hits, you get taken out of the possibility of winning the Brownlow medal which is basically the best player award

comeatme Bro I would agree that football players are more courageous, rugby players hit harder.
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
There not illegal hits
Most of them are ok and nothing happens
So bizarre watching from an external point of view. This is so normal to us. Kids play this from when they can walk here....
