Congratulations to Michigan! Great game plan and execution. The better team won. Great fan interactions in Pasadena with a lot of mutual respect between the fan bases. Good luck the rest of the way. Enjoy the experience. We’ll play again one day. Roll Tide!
What about Josiah Stewart bull rushing JC Lathum right into Milroe? That's what killed that last play.
Hey Joel, next time you see your bud, Gus tell him to stop calling OSU 'World Famous', it is embarrassing. And Keith Jackson is the Goat.
What about Maserati marv
@@dankofdaday that shit is so cringe 😂
he is literally a wolverine fan 😭

@@jackpackage4278KNOWING Gus Johnson is a lifetime Michigan fan who attended college in Detroit ..at Wayne State University... I laugh everything he says that..he overcompensates
As a Wolverine alum, have a lot of fellow alums/friends who frankly didn't believe Michigan had the type of team to beat SEC teams, until they did this year. As Klatt said, Team 144 was big, strong, and fast; SEC big, strong, and fast. While I expect Michigan to compete next year, there will never be another team like 144.
This is almost going to be like an all Big 10 Final because next year Washington’s coming over to the Big 10 😎
And they play each other again next year.
They’ll have a big letdown year without pennix
Go Blue!
SEC era is over! The future belongs to the Big Ten!!
😂😂😂😂Besides Bama and Auburn sec beat the pants off Big Ten
@@ravenellcantley4839not where it mattered
The word future doesn't mean today. Starting next year, both teams that are playing for the Natty will be in the Big Ten.@@ravenellcantley4839
@@ravenellcantley4839Everyone knows the bowl games mean nothing outside of the playoffs
As a Michigan fan, I'm not sure I'd jump to that conclusion. But this year certainly belongs to the big 10.
I notice that the Wolverines were running the Ravens defense..
3rd season using it now.
joel klatt doesn't seem to get enough recognition for how truly knowledgeable he is concerning college football.
Joels break down was really good on that last play, was spot on about Flexing the tight end and more of a zone read type play. But if u have a low or bad snap All bets are off it screws up the operation of the play.
Hey Joel, you called Michigan the boa constrictor for a good reason; however, you picked Alabama to win the game. So confused because you talked up Michigan all season in your podcast. Go blue to win the national championship Michigan 35, Alabama 23.
I must’ve had Alabama on my mind because of the importance of the game for Michigan. I meant to say Michigan 35, Washington 23 go blue.
Much credit to Nick Saban in that press conference after the game, and another master class in how to be a stand up guy.
Michigan totally blew up that last play for Bama, though... and the rest is history. It would've been tough whatever Bama called because Michigan owned the trenches.
Very good show
Great job
Yeah, as a Michigan fan I was surprised by the edge rushing by Michigan. That is not what I would have expected from them during that game.
You have to remember that football ultimately is a simple game: our line will beat your line on both sides of the ball. It has always been that way. The Oline allows the QB to operate consistently and to run to control the ball. Michigan has done that in spades. The Dline stops the other team from doing just that. Speed is an important element. Strength and conditioning too. Cade McNamara in 2021 had a solid game against Ohio but the Oline stole the show. Remember that John Madden called that the greatest display of blocking he had ever seen. Now against Bama and WA the main difference was JJ McCarthy. Without elite Qb play they don’t win those games.
One thing he doesn’t say, Michigan will limit possession which is true, but I also think they’ll limit big plays and force field goals instead of TD. If Michigan scores over 30, they win.
Yup the forcing field goals is the big key. You kick for 3 we hold the ball forever and score 7
I don’t know who you’d argue is a better color guy/analyst than Joel klatt. Holy crap he’s good.
Anyone know where to get that Rose Bowl hat??
Temu
...do they still play the game? I mean, how does this work without the SEC?
Well, they can explain the rules of the game to the non SEC players much easier. They don't need any baby board books to show them pictures of the things that they can't do.
GO BLUE
Joel Klatt picked bama to win the Rose Bowl 🌹 .... Michigan Wolverines (( Champions )) 2023 .. #GOBLUE !
@joelklatt Where did you get this hat?
The Alabama receivers were not running routes on the last play. They went out to stalk block. That was a run play all the way. If the snap was better than Milroe wouldn’t have to look down on the ground, and then look up and refocus his line of sight. If he could have followed the pulling guard to the left, there was a hole there.
Sanristil was right there unblocked.
That play was crushed.
Michigan was faster. Tyler morris ran through and around that bama defense on his way to the end zone. Michigan front 7 was too fast and too physical for bama to block.
Saban wasn’t protecting anyone - it was a simple QB run. No options, no reads , just run the ball. Saban said so. It was a really bad call. The low snap didn’t matter. Milroe didn’t panic . Bama didn’t block it, as Saban said .
Nick Saban protecting his players in the press conference is something that Cryin Day wouldn’t do which is why he lost so many players to the portal.
THE SEC IS A JOKE! WHERE WOUKD THAT CONFERENCE B IF ESPN DIDNT MAKE A $2BIL INVESTMENT IN THE CONF SUCCESS BACK IN 07!? DO THE MATH
Bud light guys of course
Didn’t these guys say we were gonna get blew out ? 💀
The 4 team CFP started without a SEC team and its ending without an SEC team..
Would never even consider wearing one of those goofy hats with a giant flower on it.
Too bad the CFP robbed us of a Michigan versus Washington Rose Bowl for the national championship...which would've happened pre-BCS and CFP. Would've been a perfect way to finish the last PAC-12 season.
Jim Harbaugh wasn't going to do what the Lions did and go for two instead of tying it. Michigan had faith in their defense so there was no point in going for 2.
I'm gonna say becuase Michigan scored more points....
Who did the pulling guard block? Noooobody. Sanistril was in the backfield before the guard got as far as the left guard. Bama would have been better off keeping the guard home and doubling up the DTs to open a gap.
If it’s a good snap sanistril is out of position overrunning the play.
@@ravenellcantley4839 Sanistril only looks out of position because Milroe took two steps forward to receive the snap. If the snap is good Sanistril was still there to seal the edge.
Dude, get your eyes checked @@drkjk
@@ravenellcantley4839if you watched the play in slow motion, Milroe was upended by his right tackle. Josiah Stewart pushed the right tackle and blew up the play. It had nooo chance.
@@drkjk Milroe didn’t take 2 steps forward until after he got the ball
The better team won.
How Michigan beat "Bama". According to Nick Saban Michigan huddling before offensive plays gave them a competitive advantage Alabama couldn't overcome.
I wouldn’t say that Michigan was “faster” or that our receivers couldn’t get separation. I think the Michigan’s scheme made it appear that way. It’s a little more accurate to say that Michigan was more “certain” throughout the game and that allowed them to play faster.
I saw, on numerous occasions, receivers running totally free across the middle of the field or down the sideline, but by mixing up protections, disguising coverages and emphasizing pressure on the QB, they created a situation where Milroe was unable to accurately diagnose plays and get the ball to his receivers with confidence
What do you mean by numerous? Certainly some.
AI at its finest
Love it when the SEC gets dumped in the college playoffs.
Sorry to hear y'all buy into all of the nonsense like people from the south thinking that we only have good football here and nowhere Else. Sad.
Its out of respect for Jesse Owens even Michigan has a track and field walll , plack in honor of jesse owens for breaking multiple records at one track meet held at Michigan Stadium. And what Jesse owens did at the nineteen thirty six olympics in front of one most Racist leader the world has ever seen. So gus Johnson says world famous osu. Out of respect, he is actually a Michigan guy. 😂 what Jesse owens did at ohio state and his impact will be never Duplicated. He put the school on the map. And made it world famous. Gus is just paying respect and paying tribute to Jesse owens
Because college football is a multi-billion dollar industry where the head honchos are paid tens of millions of dollars to win and there’s zero margin for error at the top. The incentives to cheat are massive and the punishments are usually minor...
The RB was open all day out of the backfield..
Bama has no offense - they are not even in the Top 50 in Total Offense. UW just beat the nation's #2 offense (Oregon) and the nation's #9 offense (Texas). Michigan has weirdly managed to sail through their schedule with only ONE team with an offense even in the Top 50 - Ohio State #47 in Total Offense. LOL! Michigan probably has a good D but IT HAS NEVER PLAYED A SINGLE DECENT OFFENSE! Big 10 sorely lacking in great QB's and great offenses this year.
looking forward to this challenge!!
Michigan man here.
Fair.
LOL. i appreciate the confidence. Washington hasnt played a defense all year and almost lost a few games. No one was worried about Oregon, USC, Washington St, OSU. LOL I love your confidence though. Get ready
UW beat Utah, Oregon, Texas and Oregon State - all teams with excellent defenses. Utah #13 and the rest in the 20's or so. So UW has played at least 5 games against Top 50 defenses. But Michigan only played one game against a Top 50 offense - Ohio State #47. @@webechubbin
Lol I love that people are still playing the "Michigan ain't played nobody" card at this point.
Washington is a version of Ohio St? Are you serious? Better QB, better tight ends, better overall receivers, better defensive ends. Can’t compare those 2
Might be talking about their 21 team with smith-njigba, Marvin Harrison, Garrett Wilson, and Cj stroud. If that’s the case it’s a fair comparison
He's talking about the 2021 team bro with CJ stroud , Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and Jaxon smith-njigba
Gotcha, I think you guys are correct, that makes a lot more sense
egbuka and Marv are better than every receiver on washington lol including odunze. 2021 OSU yes those 3 receivers are way better than the 3 Washington has.
@@webechubbin maybe, but those 3 are in the natty and Ohio St’s aren’t
I will tell you how they beat bama they had all their plays they are a bunch of sign stealing team
Michigan shouldn't have even been in the playoffs!
they won the same way they've remained undefeated all season.....by cheating.
Copium Alert
Lmao yup they cheated if that's what gets u thru have at it but at the end of the day u will have to say it Michigan won it all and all my crying and complaining won't change that
You guys are a joke that game was wrote on a script
Facts! And the earth is flat!
We didn't walk on the moon and 9/11 was an inside job..
Bama beat thier self's.
With bad snaps.
Washington, should beat Michigan
Trippin
And Michigan didn’t beat themselves? Missed PAT, Missed FG, 2 Muffed punts, dropped wide open catches…
Michigan will dominate Washington
Hope you just talking shit and not betting on it unless you can afford too.
@@zacharymaddox3345 No, you see. Michigan is not an SEC team so mistakes against a big bad SEC team are expected. The mistakes that Bama makes, being a big bad SEC team, are satanic forces outside of their control.
Obviously Sarcasm. Mich should have boatraced Bama by 14.
