    Two or three years ago I paid a comparative king's ransom replacing the lost/donated to charity Super Powers Batman, Robin and Joker figures from my childhood. I love how this channel has true reverence for the memories that these wonderful little totems evoke in all of us.

      Sadly I had the whole set, plus Batmobile, and Hall of Justice play set!! Sadly my mother threw them out when I went to college.. I was kinda upset about it when I found out. But now that I'm much much older, I really wish I still had those toys!! Would have gotten some money for them now days!! 😬😬🤦🤦🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️😥😥

    This was one of my favorite lines growing up. The catalog of characters they made was excellent and they were one of the few lines that I actually enjoyed the action gimmicks on. The repair turned out beautifully! The ears really were very close to the original and on a shelf, you’d be hard pressed to notice the difference. Will we be seeing more from this line in the near future? I’m very curious about trying to repair any of the mechanisms.🤔 Thank you for sharing another amazing restoration. Cheers, Dave!😃👍

    Dropped it on the floor and the ear-horns didn't break off. That might be more a testament to the metal core you put in than the durability of the milliput.

    MicroMark catalogue sells a great two-part silicone duplication putty, a canister of purple bubblegum-textured stuff and a canister of white. One pinches a bit of each from each canister, and mix it by hand, it's nontoxic. When it's fully blended to a light pinkish-purple, you have 15-20 minutes before it fully sets. I would press the original head that's in better condition, use your Milliput (I use plexiglas plumbing epoxy putty, myself. Which might solve the left leg of your Robin figure, as well.) the silicone molds withstand 700°, so if you needed to use baking clay (you could use lead or pewter in these molds!) you could. Since you are likely repainting, I doubt it would hurt to start from scratch with an altogether new head. I use a Dremel to properly hollow the neck peg hole.

    After the cape video I attempted making them for my self. I use 3mm gauge aluminum craft wire and wound it around a sharpie to make a coil with a 15mm diameter. Once I cut the ring, it fit the dimensions of the original cape clip.

    Honestly, I'd *love* to see a version of this figure with all of the blues repainted to match your darker custom cape. Yes, it would lack that 80's Kenner magic but I'm quite certain it'd make for a striking figure. If I ever come across a reasonably priced beater one day, I may even give it a go myself! Thanks for the great content!

    Toy Polloi my friend, I'm a big Super Powers fan, this is a very cool video, unfortunately some of my SP figures have suffered from yellowing, Superman is looking like Green Lantern lol. Anyway I'm not sure if you know this but the actual cape material is called Tricot. I discovered this a few years back when trying to replace Martian Manhunters cape. Great vid!

    • @toypolloi
      @toypolloi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I try to show what I use in each video and I do buy new ones for projects. It's always good to have black, white, and a few browns and a flesh colour. After that it depends on what figures you are fixing. Super Powers figure need lots of bright colours, star wars require much more muted tones. Cheers
