  • The vintage Kenner Speeder bike is one I am often asked to show how to repair. But as it's quite a simple toy rather than just covering a restoration, I thought I would turn it into a custom as well.
This video covers repairing the bike, replacing parts, and creating a custom set of stickers. It's a long video as there is a lot to go over. Enjoy.
Get the custom sticker sheet from www.toypolloi.com
And download the files to 3D print your own replacement parts here: www.thingiverse.com/thing:349...

I really enjoy watching your creations: taking damaged toys that many would think are just too far gone and renovating and repairing them, breathing new life in toys that otherwise would be discarded. Wonderful to watch and very inspirational!

Christmas 1983 and where Star Wars toys were concerned, although I was pretty sure I would be getting an AT-ST Scout Walker, (which I happily did), it was actually a Speeder Bike I was hoping for the most, but upon opening my presents.. no Speeder Bike! 😥
Until we visited my Nain and Taid later on and I realised Father Christmas had dropped it off for me there instead! 😀
(Great vid, Dave. Those stickers are quality!)

These were always one of the cooler toys from ROTJ, and always the first to get messed up. I have one socked away that's missing pieces, and now that it's entirely restorable, I think I'll do that. And the stickers are fantastic, you really did a great job with those and with this episode generally. Thanks!

The bottom chassis needs something, perhaps a dash of red and chrome paint on the hoses and structural bits here and there. Thanks, another great enjoyable video. Tom USA

I like how with parts of the shell which are obviously beyond repair, like the one with the battered side at the beginning of the video, you can also create more realistic "battle damaged" bikes (I believe you have nothing against customizations, but I won't go that far as to say that you could paint it black and make it Vader's bike).
Anyway, working with that knife, your mind's attitude, and your kindness ... makes you the veritable McGyver of toys.

You can make filing that lego replacement handle bar post a lot easier by cutting off the large end and then putting the leftover round bar in your drill's chuck and using it as a lathe by running the drill and holding the file against it.

Great work. In the pre special edition version of ANH they do actually use English on the tractor beam control in the Death Star. Plus they refer to X Wings, Y wings not by the aurebesh character. So using ‘warning’ would be OK as our alphabet does exist in the Star Wars universe!

Great job as usual, when you fixed the handle bar on the speeder bike, with the new black peg, I think you should’ve painted them both black. I think they both look better black, looks as if it’s one piece. And not clipped together.
