  • Crazy findings from the latest scientific research (MRI studies) about what handedness actually is. I'm currently completing a PhD in Imaging Neuroscience at KCL 🧠.

    After seeing your video on Professor Dave's channel here I am. Your channel is very good, I already subscribed. I'm portuguese, i understand english, and yours is great, but still mine is not so good that the optional subtitling wouldn't help. If this good work continues, I have no doubt that it will grow. I was very surprised to have so few subscribers. Force!

      Thanks so much José! Hopefully youtube will add a feature for immediate translation subtitles to help you and other in a similar position!

    Speaking of nerds, my husband and I had a lot of fun with our daughters ultrasound photos (he’s a leftie, I’m a rightie).
    In the womb, our eldest was touching her nose with her right hand. Our youngest, in her ultrasound scan, had her right hand raised in the air like a victory pose. Both ended up righties XD

      Thank you for the comment how interesting! Definitely not a perfect science 😅

    Very good video. My only complaint is that the music is too loud and distracting.

      Thanks for the comment and feedback! I actually agree! Getting the music balance right is something I'm working on and at the early stage I made this video defo wasnt quite right!

    Great stuff, these videos are getting better and better!! Is there any truth to the right brained/left brained theory where right brained people are more creative and left brained people are more analytical? If this is true is there any relation to "handidness"?

    • @ZacharyCortex
      @ZacharyCortex  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Daniel! There isnt - that is a complete misconception. To the best of my knowledge the only scientific/medical relevance of 'right' and 'left' brain is in reference to where the language centre lies in the brain (due to brain lateralisation). Neurosurgeons will, if appropriate and possible, account for this during surgery to preserve their patient's language comprehension....hence in their surgical review they may say the patient is 'right' or 'left' brained...though they arent referring to creativity. I think creativity is a very general concept and cannot be accounted for with any simple explanation of someone being more right or left brain dominant. Great question! Thanks for your support!

    Hello Zachary, thanks for making videos related to the most complex organ in the body; it makes things more easy to understand. You & People like you, are making this world a better place to live. May your good work continue and turn into a God's work.
    I have a question: Would you be able to make any video on Corpus Callosum (and a condition called CC dysgenesis), facts & opinion??
    I'm intrigued by it, as my son is diagnosed with it (along with hydrocephalus). And now at the age of 2 years & 6 months; he has not yet developed speech skills (except for one or two words) and yet struggling to walk by himself (motor functions are good though & hydrocephalus looks to be non progressive). I'm trying to find out if it is because of the same condition!!
    Many thanks for the videos😇 All the best to you💐

      Hi Achintya! Thank you so much for your very kind words. I am really glad that you have been enjoying these videos on the most complex organ in the body! I agree a video on the corpus callosum would be a great idea and could then explore the diseases associated with it. I think most people may not know what the CC even is so would love to build it into the schedule of videos.
      All the best to you my friend 😀

    I’m ambidextrous but I write with my left hand a lot ✍🏼 (I know that’s a right hand emoji)

      Thanks for the comment! Yeh i hear ambidextrous people have a slightly preferred writing hand, even if they can write with both
