I spent a month in the Philippines in 2023. it was fantastic. I was based mostly in Roxas in the western Visayas. Went to a wedding (had to wear a barong), Did Karaoke (and, yeah, they are obsessed :) it's great!), Rode on a tricycle taxi... Went to Boracay (featured in the video) and it's spectacular. Really hot, but the people are really friendly and I was sad to leave!
If you like this video, Map men (focussed quite a bit on British geography) would be up your street as well

Any place with a Jolibee can be expected to have a Filipino community. Definitely, there are countless Jolibees on the US West Coast, Hawaii, and New York. As for Filipino ingredients, even places with few Filipinos might have them in an Asian store.
Actually, there is hardly a country in the world WITHOUT Filipinos nowadays. Even in the South American countries that are very far trips from the Philippines.

And this is the best season in the country; mild weather and island hoppings, although festivals are all year round ... greetings from this beautiful country, we love you Mike & Jess and always watching your videos, MABUHAY!💕

Love the Philippines, it's where my mom is from! It struggles with overpopulation and plummeting biodiversity. Many of the newly discovered animals are immediately placed on the critically endangered list as their habitat is actively claimed by farms and suburbs, for instance. Scientists are quickly trying to catalogue animals and plants before they are gone for good. For perspective, the Philippines is the size of the state of Nevada (pop. 3 million), and the Philippines has 120 million and still growing fast. Even with the volcanoes and typhoons, it should be paradise on Earth, but it's disappearing incredibly fast. Support local environmental activists that work endlessly with local communities to preserve the little forest and fresh water habit that remains. Younger Filipinos have their work cut out for them as poor government policy has left the environment in near shambles in the face of climate change. The Philippines is truly a magical place, one of the few places on Earth where life flourishes (as evidenced by biodiversity), all with incredible culture!

there's no wrong or right way on cooking our dishes. different places have their own versions. an example is adobo, wherein other prefer it saucy, while others prefer it oily, and with crispy skin/pan fried. and yes, puto may sound derogatory but it is a real rice cake. Ube is much more sweeter and coarse than a regular yam, but its flavor is enhanced through different styles such as making into ice cream, smoothie, or even halaya.
Jollibee funny commercials? you guys should watch the ones they put up during Valentine's Day. just get ready with a box of tissues.

My Grandfather died in World War 2, Fightibg with the Americans. Saving a lot of American Soldiers and POWs life. Never got the recognition of the US Govt. for his heroic tasks wgeb he died. Only in the 80's he got recognized by the Filipino Govt. for his deed. Our Family don't count anymore for the US Govt. recognizing him saving American POWs from their deathmarch by sacrificing himself. Sad Past History.
