Philippines has always been there for many countries not just South Korea, considered a poor country and looked down upon by many in this generation ,but when it comes to what really matters you’ll never find a more humane and generous people. They will give the shirt off their backs even if it’s the only one they have if they see that you need it more. Although I grew up in a foreign country , I have witnessed this with my uncles when I was little, I hope my fellow Filipinos will keep this part of their character intact and not lose their way.
Sorry I have to correct my initial comment… I spent my teen years in Manila but left around 40 years ago so I did live there for a while that’s how I knew the true heart of my countrymen. Apologies for saying I grew up in a foreign country.
Sad thing is, Philippines is a rich country, but the riches are being enjoyed by the few. Now don't get me wrong, I am pinoy and I am proud of who I am. We are hospitable, we are selfless in the eyes of foreigners, but we are also subjective. Most pilipinos love to look good inside and out in foreign eyes, that's just how we're built, but most of us are corrupt to the core. A lot of my countrymen will react negatively to this but it is the saddening truth. You will see it in everyday life, a lot us of will extend a helping hand to a foreigner we just met a minute ago, giving more than what we can offer but we turn a blind eye to our fellow countrymen. We are one of the most racist in the world as well. We discriminate our own people, specially the Aetas and Bisaya. Take this as an example, filipinos are excited to vote but the sad truth behind it is they are excited on how much they will earn by selling their votes.

During 1950's the Philippines was just recovering from Japanese occupation, but the Philippines was in a better economic situation than other Asian countries. During the Korean war, the Philippines played the key rule in spreading democracy in the far east, for it was the only democratic county by that time in the whole region. The whole of Korea was bound to be communist (under North Korea of today) county. With the U.S., the Philippines and its allies (U.N.) help, South Korea was born and now enjoying prosperous democratic way of government. What made the Philippines special than other nation was that, international (UN) soldiers were losing and even abandoned their posts, only Filipinos were standing their ground and even able to push despite being under armed and under men. What made it more heart warming was the Philippines did not abandoned South Korea after the war and even sent their best technical support in a war torn South Korea medical team, engineers, teachers and all the help it can provide. It is because the Philippines had experienced these situations many times ( Spain war, Japan war and America war). So the Filipinos knew what it was like to live under a war torn nation. Because of this, South Korea was able to recover tremendously faster than any other nation. With this help and the resilience of S. Philippine President Quirino was not against sending troops to South Korea. He even sent his son Tommy Quirino and son in law Luis T. Gonzalez to be part of the Philippine troops. President Quirino was hesitant because the Philippines was still recovering from World War 2, and it did not have enough transport ships to bring thousands of soldiers and equipment and firearms to South Korea. These ships were donated by the United States. I know the truth because President Quirino was my grandfather and his son Tommy who fought in South Korea was my father.

Koreans and Filipinos are brothers who went through hell and back. An iron clad relationship that will withstand the test of time. If the need ever arise to defend each others country, i am more than confident that both countries will heed each others call for help again. During those times, The Philippines was like a big brother to south Korea, and now that little brother is so successful that even as a filipino, i am very proud of S.Korea. It's like all the seeds we planted grew into a magnificent forest. In that sense, both nations are growing stronger and stronger still, by scraching each others backs.

It is important to still give acknowledgement to those who extend their help during the war, not because of something else but to still continue or improve the good relationship between two countries. It should at least discussed at school or university even just a few pages in history book and a few minutes discussion would help people in this generation to at least understand and value the history. its the new generation , when the Kdrama K pop exploded it was the mindset of the youngster that thought they are more better than anyone else, also their economy is stronger but on the positive notes there are a lot of Korean living in the Philippines also You Tube bloggers like Jessica, Dasuri Choi, Ryan Bang, Kristy Pata, Junwonee, Hana Cho and many more
So true. Especially the middle aged and older ones. I have co workers from Cambodia, Indonesia and Thailand when I worked there, we have similar skin color and for sure we are treated differently just by our color. They're just a bunch of elitist and racist and they are not hiding it. LOL. I'm never going back to Korea. Also never believe this kind of reaction videos. They're just doing this for subs and views.
Nothing compares on how most of filipinos looked down on them calling boys especially kpop idols GAYS because of how they dress, put make up, how they look and so on. Kung totoosin mas toxic mga pinoy kay sa sakanila.
@@NorhanifahDaute oh my, you just prove your point of being toxic just by your comment.
@@NorhanifahDaute i agree to disagree, these are ignorant people who judges without knowing the hardwork of preparing a person to stardom, look at BTS well known "worldwide", Blackpink and Psy who made the famous gangnam style that even hollywood and and New york acknowledge them, so never judge a book by its cover....for all you know anyone can succeed with determination and hardwork. I am Pinoy married to Korean and I love my wife, I understand their cultures and of course my culture, its those ignorant bastard who are always jealous of everyone
Whenever I remember that a Korean tore our flag it really tores my heart to the point of almost crying. It hurts me knowing that Filipinos were the first in Asia to respond and sacrificed their lives.
I hope that this would be a lesson to my fellow countrymen! We should keep our nation clean and strong so that no one would ever underestimate us including our allies! Descipline should be our number 1 priority! This is a really painful lesson for me...
They only tought of their history but never ours. They never taught it in their schools. We are too forgiving and positive that they mistook it for weakness.
I understand were your coming
We' are Pilipinos we help bec we feel it from our heart.. and
We don't ask in return ..
thats runs in our blood ❤
Recognized or not were happy that we did our best to help other were no fool
We're just emphatic and understanding nation
@@KhrisxanadanygelXanadanygel true, it is in our culture and baked within our DNA.
@@KhrisxanadanygelXanadanygel i like that it's also a testament to our not wanting anything in return for our help, that is a very Godly attitude, so thank You, Lord Jesus
I witnessed during typhoon Yolanda one of the countries that helped the Philippines were Koreans who came to help doctors, forensics, soldiers relief good money they gave everything they could help, thank you very much for helping us during the crisis I was a witness Korean kindness God bless always brother in war🙏🫰❤
Salute to all the heroes... Let's continue loving and respecting each other no matter what race we came from... Philippines love everything about South Korea❤❤❤
Oh really? Filipino Soldiers just wasted their lives saving ingrateful Koreans!
🇰🇷❤🇵🇭 love from Cebu.
Woooow 😮 i Love you so much South Korea ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ many thanks 😘God bless you always 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I absolutely love my filipino people!
Strong family oriented, very emotional and humble people.
This is Philippines before where our leaders valued the goal of prosperity, dignity of life and implore highest standard of public service.
BUT NOW.......i hope that Philippines will be great and prosper again.
NO TO CHINA'S PUPPET REGIME...
Thanks to south korea for appreciating our country mabuhay
God bless us all. ❤

Some may look down us Filipinos but once you give and show love to us we will give back more as we can, we will fight us we can. Thank you for loving Filipinos and our beloved country Philippines. I'm proud to be a Filipino. God loves us that's why we love people .❤
필리핀은 한국전쟁중 아시아최초 국가로 참전해준 고마운 국가입니다. 율동전투에서 필리핀군은 대활약을 했습니다. 필리핀 국민에게 경의를 표합니다. 🇰🇷🇵🇭🫡
This is why Gen McArthur once said, "Give me 10,000 Filipino soldiers and I will conquer the world.”
I feel her when she said this should be included in books because in our country this is also not included, if there's no youtube, we're also ignorants.
I just don't know if the latest history books in schools are changed and updated.
I hope Korea be grateful enough to the Philippines for what the Filipino soldiers did in the Korean War by letting Filipinos visa free.
It is incredible how the Filipinos love Korean culture…Food…Teledramas, Music, Kpop, is some parts you wonder if you were in korea or in the Philippines ‼️🇵🇭🇮🇱🇰🇷 🇵🇭😊🇰🇷 🇵🇭🇰🇷
I'm envious how South Korea became an economic powerhouse and strong in military even China wont dare to bully them
Filipinos love and care not only their own countrymen, even others. ❤🇵🇭❤️🇰🇷❤️
And yet not everyone are aware of this story. Thanks to TH-cam.
BUT i will never run out of GOOD things to say about South Korea too, it makes me cry how great an kind this people and country

Are we like those in some African countries? I can agree that some of our politicians are problematic but hey somehow Philippines is also progressing! maybe you're too ignorant to see that!
..our country it was a friendly i proud being one of pilipinos 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Me encanta Filipinas su gente es muy amable ❤ 🇵🇭
And we love you too.. ❤❤❤
Now I understand why my brother in law is so thankful to the Filipinos and filipino soldier.
God bless south Korea and all other countries u.s Japan Israel and all others countries love Phill...god bless all countries...
As a pilipino im proud ang im touch of your reaction appreciated about south korea and philipine thank you so much❤❤❤❤❤❤
🇵🇭🇰🇷 ❤️ I love the relationship
Philippines has always been very helpful. They also helped Jewish people during the Nazi times, and also Vietnam. They also took Russian refugees.
I'm a Filipino. I wish a Korean would gift me a history book covering their wars, economy, culture, and industry. My wish for 2024!
We Filipinos can be your good friend, or bad enemy. Simple as that 😎
The Chinese are looking down on us, when they haven't won a single war😂 Meanwhile, Filipinos will never surrender in the face of the enemies.❤
Mabuhay Ang Pilipinas!
I guess, this history never taught in their schools. That's why most of them especially the youngsters doesn't know how Philippines helped them. I just hope racism must stop and racial superiority because it gives the impression of discrimination and hate. We must learn to accept each other's differences and give way to love and compassion. 🙏
And we also loved Korean Air!! Everytime I go home to Philippines, Korean Air always delivers!! Awesome service!
as a pilipino we love south korea ❤️
But you don't know that Koreans hate Filipinos.
Filipinos are strong minded, when something serious going on like a typhoon they will make the best of it
If you're a foreigner they are nice to you
If your filipino almost nice
We love Koreans 😊👌🏻🤟🏻💪🏻💯👑⭐🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🇰🇷🇵🇭
That's why we have a song of "Philippines are native land the country of the brave,we are ready all the time for work, for peace, and right....
I love south korea. I have many koreans friends here in philippines ❤
May I add the only son of President Quirino and Son-In-Law both Military Soldiers reserved were also deployed and fought the Korean War. Filipinos loved South Koreans and we hope you will enjoy also visiting our country as we are to yours. Maraming Salamat po!
The old Jamsil Stadium was also planned by Filipino engineers. Most people don't know that.
Yes, Filipino Engineers build the old Jamsil Stadium
@user-lc4ud9mx3s correction, ignorant Koreans will laugh at it 🤭
Thank you south korea... God bless
its just sad how some koreans look down on us in our own country.there are so many koreans living in the philippines, some are christian missionaries, some are students who come here to study english, some are families who chose to live here for good and some are tourists and ive experienced it myself several times, rude and mean, sone are racists.maybe they have no idea about this historical event or they just dont give a sh*t?
ikr...imagine some tourists bellitling and criticizing you while you're on your own country?ridiculous
As this video indicated, they didn't learn this in their history class. How about you? How did you learn about this historical fact? Did our schools system teach this in our history class? I don't ever remember learning this in school and recently learned about this in yt. Why don't you demand the government and the entertainment industry to make a movie to educate the whole country and the world?
@@hoyjude8902 i know that many people, filipino and koreans before has no idea about the participation of the philippines in the korean war but now it is taught in some schools in the philippines, korea and even in the US,my korean american friend told me..and im sure many koreans know this because it is celebrated in their country, theres even a korean war monument to the PH armed forces in south korea.
But not all koreans. It's good to know that most koreans respect Philippines so don't worry about the certain people.
@@hoyjude8902Luckily, I was able to learn about this in my high school days by reading Asian and World History books.
As a Filipino I love 🇰🇷 Too I always wanted to go there and learn KOREAN language!❤🎉
I'm proud as a Filipino
Koreans and Filipinos are brothers who went through hell and back. An iron clad relationship that will withstand the test of time. If the need ever arise to defend each others country, i am more than confident that both countries will heed each others call for help again. During those times, The Philippines was like a big brother to south Korea, and now that little brother is so successful that even as a filipino, i am very proud of S.Korea. It's like all the seeds we planted grew into a magnificent forest. Wars and conflicts aside, Korea to this day continues to do technological trade with philippines, and philippines supporting Korea with natural resources and education. In that sense, both nations are growing stronger and stronger still, by scraching each others backs.
I hope this coming examination for factory worker in south Korea i will pass. I really need to work there to support and give my mother a better life that's all i wish
Laging tandaan ang filipino tulong kahit walng kapalit masaki man pero totoo kc naranasan na nting panahon ng hapon.. oalakaiibigan pero wag na wag mo kakatiin o ggalitin may kalalagyan ka.😅
It's true that Koreans love Philippines but not all Koreans some of them find Philippines as a ignorant and discusting country.
True, they look down on SEA countries
Yes it's true. About 70% of Koreans are racist towards Filipinos.
True wala silang utang n loob...😢
And this is why we filipinos loves korea too they are mostly respectful
Being a Filipino , I can say that its really inate in everyone of us to offer aid to those in need. Even if its just a small thibg that we can offer, we give it without hesitation or regret. We are feircely loyal and brave even when faced with unbelievable odds. Something that our military has shown until just recently in the "marawi seige". Thabk you for this video. I just have to say that although wee are often lookwd down upon. We are a proud race and within each and every Filioino beats a heart of a warrior.
The Philippines sent a contingent of Philippine soldiers during the Korean war.
Philippines and Korea is not just allies but a family as well.❤
US,SOUTH KOREA & PHILIPPINES ARE similar flag color its means one hearts❤...

Phillipines is a member of UN not america,
Importance of our history subjects is for us to learn from it and to never repeat the mistakes that our ancestors did. Most history teachers focus on memorization of dates and names but that’s not the point of why learning history is important.
Filipino's love Korea, but some korean insulted filipinos, because they said filipinos are poor and also our country philippines😢❤🇵🇭
Maybe they did'nt know then about the war. What the Philippines did to their country.

Im Filipino im proud to those brave Filipino soldier that send to joinning in Korean War but same like this Korean Girls Reaction im also shock us Filipino im also dont know the truth happen about the History of Korean War sadly even now never teach in social studies subject in school and university in my country all i know only U.S military help in Korean War and otherscountries that also have a big contribution in Korean War not mention in history become a stant vanished in history like an Air exist but no one can see it 😅😅 im so ashame now to U.S government to do a manipulation about the truth in the History they become a solo Hero 😅😅
It is important to still give acknowledgement to those who extend their help during the war, not because of something else but to still continue or improve the good relationship between two countries. It should at least discussed at school or university even just a few pages in history book and a few minutes discussion would help people in this generation to at least understand and value the history. The credit of the sacrifices should be given to those who truly give strong support during difficult time or situation.
Without the Philippines we can say that its very possible that South Korea would had been totally taken by North Korea
Im glad my(our) country helped yours, in the darkest times
40,000 Chinese army and North Korean army against 900 Filipino soldiers at battle in Yultong, where injured, missing, killed,
but won the battle.
Philippines love south Korean too this two countries have deepest relationship like brother
But the reality lots of Korean looks down us Filipino and that is the recent fact
The reality also shows that a lot of Filipinos put them on a pedestal because of k-dramas thinking na lahat ay magaganda . 😂😂😂😂 And that's a fact! Sa tinging mo ba eh walang Filipino that doesn't look down on others including mga pinoy? Have you ever heard of "Crab mentality"? 😂😂😂
PROTECT AND LOVE THE PHILIPPINES
Before Philippines is second richest country in asia next to japan 😴
So true until Filipinos embraced corruption. S. Korea's economy went up while the Philippines went down.😢 Our people and the government - always waiting or asking for handouts.😢
During the war 4 of my uncle send to Korea and 2 survive 2 dead it so sad to our family but we have to deal it…and we are proud to be Filipino help to our neighbours country…
