Every time till this day (37 years old) I get those goosebumps when I hear this. My fave video game music of all time. For a Nes track and 1:15 before it loops just shows you how much time and effort when into this and this game. This game was loaded with great tracks but this one takes the cake in my opinion.
1:47 - It's that second grasping melody that comes in overtop of the first melody overtop of the chord progression and beat that's on of the things that makes this song so epic. That this was created on the NES mostly 3-channel system is brilliant. On of the greatest examples of getting so much out of so little.

I feel privileged to have played this amazing game and listened to this amazing song on an actual NES with an actual CRT television about three decades ago. Just reaching this level was such a rush after defeating the other robots and gaining their powers. I remember sitting on the floor playing the game with the Nintendo Power magazine opened to the page with the review and the maps. Such a different time back then.
I've listened to a lot of video game music over the years... This is one of the best VG songs out there and deserves its popularity. Nice use of harmony starting at 0:32-unusual for an NES game due to the whole four-channel limitation.
