I first played this game yesterday and this intro blew me away. The way it pans up the buildin, the way he stands there with his hair flapping in the wind, and the way the music kicks in. Just fucking awesome!
Everyone's talking about how good the opening is but no one is talking about how it's a continuation of the ending theme to the first game- Mega Man 6 and 7 was the only instance that this ever happened again
well its actually a remix of the ending theme in megaman 1 , just only the beginning of the song because it complety changed in secs to the up beat music
One of the greatest intros to one of the greatest sequels in video game history. The music, the storytelling, the build up along with the cinematic flare. Legendary.
Came back to this so many times both on youtube and my nes that I got for Christmas in 1990 that is still alive and kicking. What an amazing intro song on the hardware they could use. This song and the Double Dragon 2 soundtrack just live in my head 30+ years later. Helps that I still have the system and games.
Get yourself an emulator and play it NOW. Or, maybe you are lucky like me and have a still fully functional original NES with all the games still working for it, including the "3-5 year" batteries for the save states.

It's insane how ahead of its time this theme was in terms of how fast paced the 8 bit music is as well as the transitions the theme has.
