I love it but way to much M67 gear lol, also some ALICE stuff which wasn’t used in Nam but it’s fine for a placeholder or starting gear, but it looks great man keep it up!

Yeah I got a good mix of 56 and 67. I get what I can afford and find lol. The ALICE gear was created in 1973 so theoretically it could’ve made it which is why I threw it in there. The Marines in the Fall of Saigon are rumored to have used it.

@@sparkynation2899 yeah but we officially ended all operations in 1973, plus they may have had some, but it would be very few, and yeah some M56 stuff is pretty pricey( like canteen covers). Also rucks are ungodly expensive, I don’t even have one yet lol

@certifiedhistorynerd we had ended combat operations yes but still 62 US Servicemen were killed In Vietnam in 1975 alone. Doesn’t seem like a big number but they can’t be forgotten. That’s the only reason why I threw ALICE gear in there was mostly for Saigon and Koh Tang where the last serviceman were killed and photos show some of them wearing it. The “war” wasn’t officially over for the US until after Koh Tang and every man was pulled out in my opinion because there still had to be shots fire. Sometimes on eBay you can find good deals but yes a lot of the stuff is expensive. I’m more into the later stages of the war when you see the gear that was used into the 2000’s and even now I think it’s so fascinating. I love me an ERDL look with an M203 and grenade vest which I didn’t have for the video but I do have now.

@@sparkynation2899 yeah I know all that lol, I was just bringing that up cause that’s a good reason why ALICE probably wasn’t in Nam, it’s great if ya wanna add one or two pieces for a fall of Sigon impression but for anything else just use 56 gear and for 69-73 M67 can be used, very little for 69 but a little more the further you go on in the war

@@certifiedhistorynerd Yeah I get that. My impressions range from about 68-72 and I’ve done a little 75. So I mostly just use a piss posh of 56 and 67 gear unless you’re going Marines then you have crazy amounts of options and equipment from WW2/Korea surplus to everything else. It’s just such a fascinating war and time period with new technology.
