No speech. No music. Just the most thorough review I've seen for years ! To respond to some of the comments, the gearbox is actually pretty good but it takes a while to learn how to use it. Also, my remapped (125 bhp) 1.0 turbo can easily keep up with an MX5, but only on the straights !
1st Gen have a really slow gearbox... 2nd Gen have a gearbox really near at a manual Gearbox (it seems slow but if you measure the time of changing gear, definitely is not...)... 3rd Gen with DTC have definitely fast gearbox...
@@Stanwis Totally agree. Most people think these cars have an automatic trans and think they can drive them like an automatic. If they knew how to drive a manual they wouldn't complain about the trans. They end up driving it like a person learning to drive a manual.
@@door2416 i have 450 now i have 451 and i really like driving it in city. Power for city is good (currently 1.0 MHD 71hp), you ca park it anywhere. Its a great and unfairly ridiculed car by so called car enthusiasts
Lighter than a Lotus, plenty of space, heater blows good, excellent engine sound, massive acceleration and perfect braking on ice... This car should have cost at least 50k€
I used to own one a few years ago, mine was a pioneer edition and was semi-automatic with paddle-shifts, it was super fun to drive and kind fast for the type of car it is haha
I drove my 2010 smart through the Eiffel in Germany, it performed perfect on the steep hill roads. From Holland to Monschau and on to Niedeggen and back 🎉😅
10:23 do u know that the engine is at the back right? XD… Also I rly like this gen and not the older or the newer but this automatic gearbox is just painfully annoying and slow…anyway have a nice day and noice vid too! Cya bro 😎✌️
I sold my 4.0 Jag I had owned for 10 years and bought the same car as yours but in yellow ... The smart is more fun to drive because the 2 ton Jag just wafted along at 100++++ mph stead and planted . The smart is more thrilling as you have to push it . The gearbox is rubbish but you get used to it, I find it ok if you set off in manual and flick it to auto once you are cruising .They are very nippy little car and people think they are toys but a Real Mini Cooper 1.3 is only 62 ps and only does 90 mph , A 1.3 Opal/ Vauxhall Adam is only 69 ps... so they are not as slow as people think .
I have the same car model 2018 with 110ps diesel its good but. The 1,5 my opinion is to slow for the car the consumption is from 4.5 to 6.0 liters I drive the car one year and sold with 30.000 km i have no problems with , i have go travel from Germany to algeria with 3 persona inside and full of baggage they drink 5.0 liters max on 1990 km way

Guys, btw if you are thinking, or anyone you know about buying a Smart car, dont. Please dont, you will pay a lot for repairs. It is not becuase the parts are super expensive, the work is. This smart for example has everything behind the engine! You need to dismount the engine to get to things like alternator etc, we did it with my mechanic and it is a pain!
@@achrafachraf403 if you want cheaper one for everyday use - choose a diesel smart of older generation. Much easier to repair & it cunsumpts about 3-4 l of diesel per 100 km. I have smart 0.8 cdi 2001 year and it is super funny car for city.
@@achrafachraf403 If you want some cheap small car as your first, look into first gen Škoda Fabia hatckback. Small, and insanely easy to repair. 1.2 HTP 47kW is a 3 cylinder engine, if you get a good one it will hold. The best one is an old 1.4mpi 50kW (only 50, there is also 55, 59, 63). I mean they are not that bad, but they eat a log of petrol and are harder to repair. Peugeot 206 1.1 or 1.4 are also good as a starting car. Old Fiat Punto with 1.2 FIRE engine is good as well. These cars are all cheap AF and will give you a lot of experience since they dont have asistants helpipng you out.
Speed on the dashboard: 160 km/h
Speed feels in the car: 220 km/h
Real speed: 106 km/h
HAHAHAHH true
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Applicable to any underpowered vehicle lol
That's actually good, it's more exciting to drive normally.
u r right bro it's called marketing😀😀😀

The gearbox seems to slow when we tried to shift gear
If this car had a decent gearbox, it would be a really fun car to drive
3rd gen came with a dct or as a manual, so they finally fixed that
1st Gen have a really slow gearbox... 2nd Gen have a gearbox really near at a manual Gearbox (it seems slow but if you measure the time of changing gear, definitely is not...)... 3rd Gen with DTC have definitely fast gearbox...
IF you change it in manual mode is pretty decent - automatic mode is slow

The actual price is not too far 🤣
Plus interestingly you can modify this because the engine is from a Mitsubishi kei car
@@FluxxWaffle They also came stock with a turbo with 84 hp or as a Brabus version with 98 / 102 hp and can easily make 120 hp
I love my Smart Fortwo!
Looks like a fun car to drive because it is so small
Sadly, the gearbox sucks - as slow as a first time driver
@@piotrnapora5810 Is there no manual version of this?
