Yesterday , a private space company launched for the first time from a non governmental space launchpad a space launch vehicle powered by a 3D printed semi cryogenic engine .
So this is the second private space start up with its own launch vehicle in India . For India it's a big thing and even ISRO hasn't yet ever used a semi cryogenic engine .
India is a democracy and everything takes a lot of debate and a lot of time but anyone with merit can make it .

just few months ago tata signed 3 semiconductor manufacturing plants , 2 manufacturing plants in gujrat and 1 in assam for assembly packaging for 50 to 20 nm chips , anything under 20 nm is hugh tech chips , first we need to start making bigger nm chips used in our home appliances then we will go to hugh end chips used in mobile laptops

I agree with you that it is not bad to be a consumer based economy to some extent.. Our exports currently are about 22-25% in the last few years.
We were not much of a manufacturing exporter, However the PLI schemes and other activies are beginning to bear fruit. Service + Merchandise exports may start trending towards 30 percent, at least high twenties. Also, there were some products where the exports was not very large, due to high internal demand. Now, we will continue to have more and more available for exports.

What people don’t understand is that India was missing key infrastructure for export. Deep ports, highways, rail roads all being built today will translate into mass manufacturing which India still lags behind China. With continued growth in service based sectors and IT, India will be a powerhouse. Also, India’s investment in R&D will increase as GDP increases, leading to high paying jobs for grads. Not sure as an economist, how someone can say don’t look at numbers.

I truly believe we're not far from catching up. Within the next 15-20 years, we might even surpass them in exports. They're projected to hit 5 trillion, but with the current momentum, we could exceed that. Both sides are showing promising signs - people are shifting away from Chinese products, and India is actively reducing taxes and backing companies.
We are even revising their automobile policies to welcome giants like Tesla for manufacturing. It's impressive how serious we are about this.

You are right. In big countries like China and India, people whether unemployed or employed blindly apply for any and every job. This used to be a nightmare to sort. But now thanks to AI, a vast majority gets scanned out. Number of people applying for a job is no indicator of unemployment rates in a country. In UDA, there is another problem, that is people who simply stop looking for a job after sometime leading to low unemployment numbers. Also unemployment insurance payouts are also not a reliable indicator since depending on the state the unemployment payment stops in 3 to 10 months ( a few states 12).

Indians were aware of the problem of open defecation (ODF) in the country. We acknowledged it. The world made fun of us. Now check the stats. India is almost ODF free. The PM is talking openly about female hygiene in rural communities. People might be laughing now. Let them laugh. We will improve on that as well.
Unless we question and acknowledge the regressive and evil things in society, we can’t change the society.
