Thank you, dear Shahzad Gias, for inviting me. I spoke openly, sharing my heart and mind without holding back. I tried to answer as many questions as I could. Shahzad himself is a remarkable, thoughtful voice, and he created an environment where I felt more comfortable than ever to speak freely. Much appreciation to Shehzad Gias for hosting Saif Samejo on his podcast, shedding light on the true essence of Sindh's rich culture and civilization. Hats off to Saif and his comrades for their unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting our heritage. Their dedication is truly inspiring, and this conversation was a powerful reminder of the depth and beauty of Sindhi traditions.
I am truly touched by this podcast. Thanks to Saif and Shehzad. As a British Indian Gujarati, I feel that the narrative around Pakistani identity (and even Indian identity to a certain extent) is driven by Urdu and Punjabi speakers - in terms of politucs, art, music, culture, language, dress, cuisine, etc. nothing against our Punjabi brothers and sisters from both sides, but it is very important to preserve with pride our indigenous culture, and pass it on our next generation. I always knew how deeply connected Sindhi culture and language is with Gujarati, Rajasthani and Kutchi culture and language. But listening to Saif strengthened my view the the core Indian+Pakistani culture goes beyond the Punjabi pop songs and dance (again, no offense meant). The sweetness of Sindhi language, how he described Rawadari, how he mentioned that Ashram and Bhagat are not just Hinduism related words is amazing. We need more of this. Bravo Saif bhai.

Vohra from india gujrat . proud to be sufi muslim. Sufism isn't just grave worship it's beyond than imagination . We produce peace prosperity civilizational values , wisdom, education, university, scholars. There's not a single terrorist organisations belongs to Sufism because we are a really peaceful ideology .
As a sindhi Hindu I am always obliged to great grand parents to have gone through ordeal and come to beautiful land of India. But now I am also proud of my ancestral roots in sindh as a sindhi residing in India. Bha shukhr aaye tawanjo! Kyal rakhjo! I love the mention of word "Chandro". It was so common till my grandma was alive.
No? Sindhis tolerate the minorities because they see the minorities as Sindhi first. We don't care about the Hindus of any other place. Why? Because we have nothing to do with them, We're not related in any way. Plus islam teaches us to tolerate minorities.
I love the way Sir Saif Samejo describes his culture. Such deep rooted love and genuine respect really shows. His way of looking life is very harmonic. It felt good as an Indian that such philosophy comes from our neighbors as most of the time it a very negative outlook towards future...so it's very refreshing outlook. Good work in your side too shahzad sir.
59:11 Don't you think the same thing is happening to the people of Karachi now? People make fun of us, saying things like "Karanchi walay" or associating all Karachiites with Gutka. Maybe this is karma. Thanks to independent media, we can now learn more about other people and their experiences. For the first time in my life, I truly feel connected to my Sindhi identity. Although I was born into an Urdu-speaking Pakhtoon family, I now believe I am just as Sindhi as anyone else, having been born in Sindh. Sadly, we were only introduced to the Sindhi language in the 3rd grade, which I feel may have been part of the government's political agenda-to ensure we learned just enough to pass exams rather than truly connect with the language and culture. P.S. I’d like to apologize to all Pakistanis if I have ever participated in ignorant or racist jokes. Jokes can be fine, but not when they are used to suppress or diminish entire communities. I’m sorry-I can no longer be part of that mindset. Peace ❤
As a Sindhi myself, I can tell you that Sindh and Sindhi people would be more than willing to welcome anyone residing in Sindh and calling themselves Sindhi with open arms. Anyone who comes in peace is welcome to be part of our fabric.
You have wonderfully pointed out your concern. I am a karahiite sindhi and I have witnessed hatred coming both ways. One piece of advice is, always remember there are not any sindhi, punjabi, urdu or pathan, who are responsible for a behaviour. it is always an individual, who stands accountable for his/her act. We are all humans at the end of the day. Try avoiding generational trauma to transfer through our generations. People like you are a hop for our nation. #peace.

54:00 When I went to UET Lahore for my Bachelor's in Engineering, I became aware of the existence of multiple sects and their differing ideologies. This made me question my own practices. I remember asking a friend that I prayed a certain way, and he explained that I belonged to a particular sect. Growing up in Rohri, Sindh, where people from various sects and religions coexist, we were raised to adapt to our surroundings, much like the saying "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." I still remember the day Salman Taseer was killed. I debated with my friends, arguing that the act was wrong, and that if he had said something offensive, it should have been dealt with through the law. At 19, we didn’t fully grasp such matters, but my friends at the time shared the same mindset we've seen in groups like the TLP. These weren’t madrasa students but people pursuing professional degrees, just like me. It showed me how society shapes individuals, and I realized how the mullah culture had negatively influenced the mindset of many in Punjab.
Right from the "Namaste", thru out the discussion I heard stuff that I had no inkling about. 2Hrs+ of absolutely spell-binding stuff. Congratulations & Thank you. Thank you Shehzad for bringing Saif Samejo on your podcast. Dair aye Durust aye scenes. Saif has undersold himself and his Lahooti Melo, I have been attending it for past 3-4 years. All the new Sindhi singers, rappers that you see on media, including recent Ayi Ayi artists, were first introduced by Lahooti Melo. And were later picked up by mainstream. But I have never seen Saif taking the credit of their success, which shows how humble he is. If you ever happen to attend Lahooti Melo, you will see a stage that is open for all the new artists to showcase there talent. Many underground bands also perform in Lahooti, irrespective of what language they choose to sing in. Great conversation. Thanks a lot.
Saif samejo, being most harmless, most innocent and most melodious singer is rising as hero who stands against religion extremism...❤❤❤❤ Entire sindh is proud of you❤❤
We Sindhi hath jorna matlb to respect the person whom we meet 🙌🙏. I never know that Saif bha himself is treasure the way he describes regarding "Sur and Wai" it was phenomenal. Also great to know that Shehzad you are Sindhi no wonder that your Sindhi is "Kachi" so me in same boat so what I did with my children I never speak Urdu with them but Sindhi . Believe you me , 4 and 7 years kids have fluency in Sindhi ,English and Chinese but they are unable to speak Urdu. Our generation was pressurized to speak urdu but I did "ulta" with my kids and gave them awareness of their ethnicity- made them sure to be vocal about our Indus civilization (identity).
🙏 Also recognizes the divinity of the human soul and the person greeting acknowledges the divinity in the one being greeted. We were lured into hate by the very conspicuous method of divide and rule. Brought to life in the subcontinent by the British and kept functioning by their loyalists in Pakistan. I am a descendant of those who left their own homeland and came to Sind. May the hate disappear may the love of Bhitai, Bulle Shah and the much hijacked Iqbal be resurrected.
Sindhis are beautiful people. They’re all over India more so in Mumbai and surroundings of Maharashtra. Some have lived before partition others came afterwards. One of the sharpest and successful communities both in business and academics is India. Sindh is Hind and vice versa ❤
this podcast is a shut up call to all the racist, discriminatory sindhi hatred in mainstream media which has mocked a supposed "lack of political awareness" within Sindhis. And now look at us - resisting extremism like NO ONE has in Pakistan. Never have been prouder as a Sindhi. Long live my sindhu 💞

I guess, majority of Indian Sindhis have Ghotki origin or Amil.
Best wishes.

I can proudly say that Saif and me are both alumnus of same institution which is Institute of English Language and Literature (IELL), University of Sindh, Jamshoro. But in Saif’s days it was Department of English, and in our times it is IELL. ❤
21:25 The way he intervened on mentioning Kaarachi separate from sindh and the way you responded by offering apology is comendable. ❤

Wow, I did not know that such people exist in Pakistan. I am from Nepal 🇳🇵

No? Sindhis tolerate the minorities because they see the minorities as Sindhi first. We don't care about the Hindus of any other place. Why? Because we have nothing to do with them, We're not related in any way. Plus islam teaches us to tolerate minorities.
Thanks young men for standing up. Got to know about sindhu culture and people by this podcast. Appreciate your efforts.

Saif is Legendary Personality
Peace ❤
❤️
❤
Karma for what? What did he do to anyone?
#peace.
Like all your podcast, another gem. There are very few secular living on both side of borders. Hats off. Touched the core.

Didi vo log sufism ko secularism bata rahe hai jo Islam ka ek firka hai aur tailor kishan kumar ka gala katne vala sufi hi tha aur owaisi bhi sufi hai 😅
@@Adam-xh3pq nop they were not sufi
@@softwareengineerinprocess4655 the important thing is not sufi but secularism that doesn't have they are sindh state is basically multicultural society and traditions which are rooted by Hindu culture but they are converted Muslim by religion and in illusion of that their culture is secular because their custom tradition is different from whole Pakistan
@@Adam-xh3pq mr adam i'm myself is a sindhi and we know what we are we don't believe in such type of things we are sufi if you want to say something about sufi you should have done some research.
