I'm Josh with Cotton and Hollow. We make funny things, we make useful things and we end up in many improbable situations. If you've got this far in the description you are an intrepid explorer of boxes and I approve you as a comrade in curiosity. So join me on this adventure as we make multitudes of majorly magnificent videos as we be excessively modest and have a good time! Thanks for watching and reading, give yourself a cookie.
Some things to try:
1) Druid 6 (Circle of Spores) / Wizard 6 (Necromancer) ... Swarm the fights with a LOT of undead and control spells. Rolling in with 12+ extra bodies is unfair when you have Necromancy of Thay.
2) 2 Paladin / 10 Bard Enchantment/Illusion Focus w/Banishing Smite. Carnival weapon and ring elevates this build to insanity. This is likely the most disgusting character I played so far.
3) 2 Warlock / 7 Fighter (Eldritch Knight) / 3 Rogue (Thief) ... This build doesn't come online until early Act III (possibly last Act II) ... Get Darkness as a EK spell and Agonizing Blast/ Devil Sight evocations in warlock. Setup your character for dual wield and then dump everything into charisma. The key is to put the Infernal Rapier in the offhand. Your combat round will be Eldritch Blast 3x(1d10 + 2xChr Mod) + 2x Off hand attacks (1d6 + Chr Mod).
For the mage build in your video, you may as well go white dragon Sorc 1, Tempest Cleric 1, and Abjuration Wizard 10 ... that way you can easily swap between builds just by the gear set you are wearing. You can do the whole super lightning build, cold build, damage reflect build all with the same class selection. Dual Wield and Heavy Armor Master feats. If this is your Tav you can still hit 20 int too with Hair + Mirror w/17 Starting int.
What’s the reasoning for going 7 fighter instead of 6 fighter 3 warlock for subclass, or 6 fighter 4 rogue for a feat? You get something special at 7 fighter I’m forgetting?
@@blackhat4206 Eldritch Knight War magic ability, but now that I think about it, not sure its needed as you are using your action for the cantrip and want to make all attacks using your off-hand bonus actions.
@@blackhat4206 "6 fighter 3 warlock for subclass" i dont quite get what u mean by the "for subclass" as warlock gets its subclass at lvl 1. While i was writing that down i realized that you probably just called warlock "pact" a subclass.
@@ВалентинЛагутин-и2т Yeah, I meant pact.
I'm not understanding the first part of the video regarding the Moon Druid...
>Tavern Brawler only counts toward Attack rolls, NOT damage rolls in honor mode.
>Choose Earth Myrmidon because Tavern Brawler will work for this form specifically? I don't know why, probably because it's using an IMPROVISED weapon instead of an unarmed attack?? (This is where my confusion starts)
>Now get weapon proficiency?? The weapon I'm currently wielding?? Any weapon I want??? Myrmidons don't use weapons, tho. Tavern Brawler doesn't interact with non-improvised weapons, tho.
I swear these videos just make me do new saves. I didn't go past act 2 yet and have over 500 hours.
Finish the game my guy, what are you doing? 500 hours and you havent experienced all the awesome stuff inside the city of baldurs gate? I get "taking your time" but whoah haha, whenever you get to it, im sure youll have another 300 hours exploring it all, no hate, just makes me feel so bad for commiting to one 60 hour playthrough, im on my second now and feel like i already did everything 😢
@@TizzmantineUK nah man im like 300 hours in and im basically the same way but about finishing act 3, every time i get to the end i get cold feet because somehow i feel like there was just a group of decisions i could've or should've made together in a better way. this game is insane about how much you can do, and if you feel like you did everything in 60 hours, just wait till you see all of the alternative choices you can make and enjoy within the game
i feel like these 300-500hrs are broken time clocks and extreme exaggeration i did pretty much everything in act 1 and 2 even went back and tried different outcomes and not even close to 100 @@TizzmantineUK
@@Shondlem sadly probably not. I've got 160 hours and haven't even made it beyond Act 1. Although I do leave the game running a lot so that's probably why, but I've restarted so many damn times. Analysis Paralysis badly. It sucks :/
thats what im talking about im showing 289 i know most of it is me asleep in a menu or paused lol @@Thatbeardedguy86
I unironically did a Bard/Rogue multiclass but more on the melee/tank side. Always fun to see even a multiclass can be different from another
Honestly, I find these builds that require super late game kit kinda useless. Like realistically, is anybody going to do a 50 hour playthrough just to be OP for the final battle or two?
Yeah. Late game is easy, early game is when it's hard.
Agreed...that's what I hate about most build videos and my biggest gripe with bg3 as a whole...I wish more creators would make videos of the "best builds at level 5" or something.
@@genshinunleashed8455 limit breakers did a video of powerful early game builds. Although he also said at level 5 your best is single class because extra attack or third level spells are pretty good.
Tempest cleric with lightning focus and a wizard with lightning is OP when you use your water abilities. But there are so many good builds in this game
Finally jumped on baldurs gate couple weeks ago. The monk rogue open hand thief tavern brawler is insane
Yes absolutely no reason not to bring along a Monk Thief, especially in Act 3. Sooooo much gear for Monks makes them a must in a 4 character group.
@doomrot I'm in act three and I actually finished my build did a lot of side quests before tackling rest of story I'm pretty op the Raphael fight was cake even before getting the gloves from completing the quest line
@@kevindimas253 *Spoilers* at the very end of Act 2 you enter the Astral Plane and get the Boots of Uninhibited Kushigo. These boots turn Monk 9 Thief 3 into a freaking powerhouse. Honestly the 5 builds in this video are very sub par.
@@doomrot got those
Druid for honor mode is pretty good, the full moon druid is fine but the spore druid however is pretty op for honour mode (just play full tank with 6 druid, 6 fighter)
Rarely mentioned is that the elixir of hill giant strength carries over to the wild shape form. A 21 strength kitty cat wild shape can jump very far and fall damage works different in cat form. Works great in the underdark. edit...hill giant club does not work in wild shape form
Also one of the few things that work for wild shape is the elixir you get in act 2 if Astarion agrees to feed from weird drow chick in Moonrise Tower (the one that gives pernament Strenght+2), it carries over to wild shape
Another thing that almost noone ever mentions is that summons can consume elixirs too. Place the elixir on the ground then switch to your summon and select consume when you target the elixir.
Why practically no items carry over to wild shape it so lame. Makes moon druid super boring to play as no items matter
@@RM_3D my experience from honour mode is that moon druid is really nice until you reach act 3 (more or less):
in act 1 extra pool of hit points make it one of the best tanks in the game (as bear, later as owlbear), since it's AC isn't great it gets attacked with quite high priority (and that's good), it slaps quite hard with tavern brawler, good hit chance too;
cast some good concentration spell before changing shape, some of the best spells are Spike Growth (2nd spell level) and in act 2 Firewall can turn some challenging fights into really easy ones (like when you have to defend portal from undeads in Thalsin quest);
that being said once you reach act 3 very rare and legendary items are behind every other corner, some strongest builds are then enabled and (because of barely any support for wild shape) moon druid just starts lagging behind
@@adamnowicki1425 it would be way cooler if passives from items carried over. Like i bought Volos ring that cast bless when healed, thinking I could wild shape and then use those self heal spell slots and get blessed but doesn't work. Items are like 50% of the fun if you are going to make wild shape specific items then make more. Takes all the theory crafting away from druids. Just take 12 lvls druid and dont worry about any items there you go build done xD
Why do a one level dip into cleric for command? Level one warlock also gives command but scales of charisma, and you can also get eldritch blast and hex
The dip into Cleric grants Command and Sleep, but it also grants access to Sanctuary, which is incredible when you're trying to maintain Concentration and notably doesn't drop when using Command. The build is absolutely nuts, and trivializes most of the 3rd act. I played it my first time through.
rhapsody is actually way better to hold on a magic missile wizard build, no need to handle with phalar aluve if u got +3 damage to every magic missile....
that raven build is super cool didnt know that was a thing
i feel like titanbow is also really good as a ranged option for a monk. high dex + high strength.
I used titanstring on my monk to use arrow of many targets for big aoe damage then followed up with flurries on the bonus actions
Moon druid is INCREDIBLY op. Owlbear clears the entirety of moonrise
I've always believed that the strongest builds out there are builds that can just deny enemies' turns.
Broken when already setup with a free turn of surprise.
Allow me to introduce:
- Bruh literally full circle of moon druid: (12 circle of moon druid)
Wild shape into air myrmidon, have 3 attacks per action, get hasted and possibly get 6 chances to stun or stun up to 6 enemies for 2 turns, every turn.
- Reverb-lock: (1 sorcerer > 2 great old one warlock > 9 sorcerer)
Just the sorclock build, but with reverberation synergy gear. Each crit on eldritch blast can proc frighten on all nearby enemies, removing their movement speed. Multi-hit-reverberation procs often knock enemies prone for 2 turns. Since they are frightened they have no movement to remove the prone condition.
Because he saves tons of spell slots by only damaging with eldritch blast, he can twin haste plenty of times.
- Ice wizard: (2 warlock > 1 cleric > 9 abjuration wizard)
All this guy does is apply "chilled" and makes enemies wet with conjure water, turning them frozen solid. Often paired with warlock's armour of agathis as abjuration wizard (+ frost shield) and he can just walk around getting hit by opportunity attacks, taking no damage but in turn applying tons of ice damage and applying chilled.
Frozen also makes enemies vulnerable to force damage so it pairs nicely with reverb-lock.
- The gloomstalker assassin: (5 gloomstalker ranger > 3 thief rogue > 4 free of choice, preferably dark urge)
Some say that death is the best form of crowd control.
High initiative and bonus attack on 1st round help achieve the first kill.
Dual wield hand crossbows and get feat that gives all ranged attacks +10 dmg for -5 attack roll, often negated by gear & risky ring for free advantadge on all attacks just because.
Kill an enemy, get invisible from Durge's cloak, move a bit around so you don't get detected, rinse and repeat.
Druid build? Bear-Zerker. Start Druid until level 2 for circle of the moon, then progress 5 levels of Barbarian/Berserker for extra attack and Frenzy, everything else into druid. Early game start of combat, cast jump then frenzy. Second turn become a polar bear and do your best incredible hulk impersonation. You're taking half physical damage, getting extra attacks and both hitting harder and more reliably. Best of all Wild Shape is basically free HP. If it loses all of it's health you get dropped into her base form with your original hit points, buffed by those meaty barb levels, and are able to resume being whatever brand of monster you like. Druids are a lot of fun with a lot of freedom in how you play them.
You already get extra attack from Wildshapes and it doesn't stack. You're actually losing your third melee attack by doing that build, which requires 10 levels in Druid. You also already get a rage effect with the Owlbear Wildshape, which is much stronger than Bear shape. Furthermore, you are missing out on a significant amount of Wildshape HP by not leveling druid, as well as spell slots and great tier 5/6 spells like the Elemental/Myrmidon summons, Heroes Feast, etc.
Moon Druid is definitely better off staying pure Druid. Druid is a tough one to multiclass unless you go Land for spells or 6 spore for zombies and 6 something else.
Lose a concentration spell and an attack, better ways to take half damage.
Cool rp idea defenitly but U r losing so much power with your variation of that build. All u gain is the role playing aspect which is cool but every other way it's making u a weaker character. U r sacrificing so much and not really gaining anything better. They should have definitely had a bearzerker subclass for barbarian it's Def super badass RP class.
@@blackhat4206 You can justify 1-2 levels of multiclass as a Moon Druid. 1 level in Sorcerer will give you Constitution Save Proficiency, Shield, Armor of Agathis and some additional utility cantrips. 1 level in War Cleric will give you 3 bonus action attacks per long rest, Heavy Armor Proficiency, as well as Sanctuary and some more cantrips.
Maybe I missed something, but what the point to use Titanstring Bow if you only have 8 STR ? You can use some elixir, sure, but they will be better on a melee character. You can equip Club of Hill Giant Strength to get 19 STR permanently.
About the Sword Bard/Rogue, I prefer to do it with 3 levels of Ranger / Gloom Stalker
Is it just me or are none of these really that great in Honour Mode? Sure some have good utility but come no where close to being the best
The builds in this video are not very good, no.
All build vid are completely useless it requires level 11+ plus all equipment to be powerful to me that it’s no no a true op build at level 7 should be dominate already. Not trying to be a D it just my opinion i believe a better title would be op build at level 11+ make more sense.
I dont get it, the wild shape AC is so low that you are constantly getting hit and losing concentration making most of the spells useless
Some of the forms have massive Con bonuses, so if you pick up War Caster or proficiency in Con saves, yes you make the checks a lot, but you also basically only ever fail on a 1 or a double 1-2. The main point is that you're one of only 2 classes that gets 3 baseline attacks, but also have full-casting, and also your HP pool effectively replenishes twice per short rest with wild shape charges. If you're going to spend all your time slapping things around in Owlbear or Earth Ele form, you might as well throw out a Spike Growth or Insect Plague when it's convenient, since you won't use the spell slots for much else beyond 1-2 for summons (unless you're abusing Goodberry for camp supplies 🙃)
Min max builds r trash for this game. Y cant u guys ever present a build that is good for Role playing but also strong (not OP just strong). I havent seen it one time from any build channel. Its either stupid gimmick/end game gear dependent builds that are OP but ruin the adventuring RP aspect OR super weak builds that are only for RP. Why can't we ever meet in the middle??
Also there so many variations of the exact same builds constantly bcuz all you guys care about is being OP.
I dont think theres a single decnent fighter/wiz build on all of YT. In fact no one seems to want to make anything STR based that isnt just pure melee.
U r telling me theres no strong builds where u can weild a large weapon but u can also use a lil magic or multiclass into something where u are not just a boring fighter? The issue eith paladin and cleric is they are very limiting for RP bcuz are basically a religious fan boy which is really boring and lame. Im dying for any strong buid where u are a melee fighter with something extra. I want to rp as a warrior who has some cool abilities other than "swing sword hit hard" but they only have paladina and cleric.
Why would you need 18 wisdom when you only have one level into cleric?
Your Command skill comes from the Cleric spell list, and therefore uses the Cleric's spellcasting modifier - I think.
Thief rogue makes sense for a dual hand crossbows build, it makes no sense for a titanstring bow build. (Edit) For honor mode I’d use bard 8 and 4 in battlemaster, gloomstalker, or possibly assassin. Alternatively bard 10 fighter 2 for more spells. For any other mode use bard 7/ 5 blade pact warlock (double extra attack doesn’t work in honor mode). Also if you’re abusing alchemy for 27 strength elixirs do NOT switch to gontr mael you’d lose 7 damage per hit.
why would you invest more than 6 levels into bard? 3/3 into fighter+rogue gives you way more actions/bonus actions, aka more dmg.
Diadem of arcane synergy + band of the mystic scoundrel means you want to have more spell slots, access to level 4 spells is nice. That split misses out on 2 feats, your ability scores will be abysmal. Also for titanstring bow builds you aren’t attacking with your bonus action either way.
@@notme2966 6 bard/ 4 rogue/2 fighter would probably be solid but I really wouldn’t give up the stats to go 3/3.
Wait.... Wait wait wait, the evocation wizard thing procs with EVERY missile?! Like the +5 would be to EVERY one???
yeah. Same thing with draconic sorcerer at level 6 for the element that they are casting from. So fire sorcerers make scorching ray super devastating.
I dont like that the raven build gets repeated and that repeats like that feel very common in videos like this. It feels like such an obvious mistake to catch and no reason to cut it out
Umm, what?
Whats that armour for druid with antlers?
When does the raven produce darkness?
Can you use a great sword with the sword bard? And still be effective?
In combat, what use is intelligence if you’re not a wizard?
For Honour Mode my Bard build used a different bow. The Legendary one with 2 levels in Fighter for archery and Action surge. It was centered around Helmet of Arcane Acuity and Band of the Mystic Scoundrel. Rain down a bunch of damage with my bow then bonus action one of my illusion or enchantment spells to disable entire groups of enemies. Super potent build. Mine wasn't optimized for damage since I wanted to reduce merchant prices more so I build more into charisma than dex. Since a 28 saving throw is difficult to save against for enemies its kinda overkill since I'm getting 10 stacks of arcane acuity.
You have my attention.
LOL I should have read through the comments first I just posted the exact same build
Just yesterday I finished my honour mode run, I used this build build and it works like a charm, there are some fights that might cause issues like Cazador or Ansur (undeads are immune to most of those spells, first one can be defeated with daylight, second with barrels) but it rips through everything else, hold monster on Haarlep or Raphael? - no problem, Raphael died in 2 rounds, Haarlep in first, Sarevok - did nothing due to Tasha Laughter, one of the most ridiculous builds I tried and it goes online in early act 3
Theres a merchant across the Blushing mermaid that you can put to sleep for basically infinite money if you put the time in. Shes all by herself too so no guards as long as you don't get caught once shes waking up
I've got to build for you, most people who have played the game probably already know it, but it doesn't come online until act 3. Technically all you need is the band of mystic scoundrel, helm of arcane acuity, and preferably a lvl 6 swordsbard using ranged slashing flourishes.
Use two ranged flourishes back-to-back on a target and enjoy your now nearly impossible to dodge enchantment or illusion spells as a bonus action.
I prefer to use 'command' most of the time since it's a level 1 spell but if I'm fighting something more powerful hold person or hold monster are the ways to go
EU queria usar aliado planar como druida
I actually using a very similar build to your 1C/11S control
5 Sorc -> 4 Cleric -> 8 Sorc
My main gold is using Haste on 2 of my best DPS - while Twin-Command xD
The reason I pick 4 Cleric is because I will have access to Sanctuary and Aid - theese 2 are very powerful spell in their own right. And we know how busted Haste, Misty Step and Counter Spell are
It's a bummer how much Haste falls off in Honour Mode. Then again, probably hade to be done? Considering how strong builds exactly like this are 😅
I've also noticed that the staff of Arcane Blessing doesn't seem to work to full effect in Honour mode either, Bless being a spell I use a *lot* in the early levels for support builds like this up until they can get hold of Haste.
What this game lacks, is a Shifter build.
Owl Bear for the win
i got a weird question i honestly want a answer for this, here it is: do vendor/traders do anything with gold? do they increase their inventory or their inventory increase base on your lvl
No, they will "restock" potions and such after long rest or level up. But as far as new weapons, no.
@@ts6377 so they basically dont need gold to increase their inventory right!?, i can rob them blind right
Tavern Brawler Druid is intended to not work in honor mode. Larian has said there are certain things that were originally bugs that they are leaving in the game for the casual play through, another example of this is Pact of the Blade Warlock 5 gets an extra attack and other martial classes like Fighter also get an extra attack at level 5, and unlike D&D these effects would stack and you could have 3 attacks per action per turn at level 10 even if you multiclassed. They fixed this, but only on honor mode, allowing the more casual player base to enjoy it as a feature rather than a bug
This is a bit misleading, because originally Tavern Brawler didn't work *at all* with wildshape, and in patch 5 they made an update so that it would. It's more of a balancing choice than a bugfix, since it went from not working at all in any mode, to working in full in normal and providing a partial benefit on honour.
The staff of Arcane Blessing has something similar as far as I can tell, where it *does* allow adding 1d4 to more things, and the buff from the staff will linger after you stop concentrating on the spell, but you only ever get a 1d4 bonus to anything, including spell attack rolls, rather than the 2d4 as stated. It's a bit annoying that some of these things aren't well documented, but considering the combat log reflects what's going on well enough, you can work it out for yourself.
Anyway, main point is that I agree it's intended not to work in honour mode, but it's a balance decision rather than a bugfix 🙂
So like... you guys pump out a lot of videos and some are great, some are fillers. Since you're over the 1M sub mark... is there any consideration for upping the video quality? It just feels weird to come from watching another BG3 video from a creator with less than half of your subs and their videos are better quality.
How do you get that outfit with the brown hood?
I love you guys so much!!!
Here’s a build I’m doing right now in Honor mode and it’s been doing incredibly well. Sword Bard 6/Fighter 2/War Cleric 1/Gloomstalker ranger 3
You get 2 slashing flourishes which hit twice and also do additional damage. You can action surge and fire two more. If you’re hasted you can get another attack. With the War Cleric ability you can use a slot and gain another extra attack. Then if it’s the first turn with Gloomstalker you get another free attack with bonus damage. You can legit almost end anything in one turn it’s so strong
Thank you for this I screenshotted it and I’m gonna check it out cause it sounds amazing
What does your ability score look like and how do you do the level progression, cause actually sounds dope 💯
@@bramike1235 Right now I’m using the Titanstring Bow from Act 1. I use elixers of giant strength to pump str up to 21 so the bow does an additional +5 damage from the str modifier. A normal ranged attack does about 30+ damage. A slashing flourish is two attacks so I’m hitting for 60+ in one flourish. Two flourishes is 120 damage, action surging and firing off four flourishes can do 240 damage alone. Then with the additional 3 normal ranged attacks that’s about 90 damage. So over 300 damage in one turn and using a bow you can get from the first act. Best part is using the slashing flourishes takes up bardic inspiration points but those can be restored with a short rest. So you can blow all your flourishes and destroy enemies and only need to short rest to get them back. Plus the bard gets an extra short rest too 😄
I've been playing 5 gloomstalker for extra attack / 5 sword bard for bardic insp. from short rests / 2 fighter for action surge. 2 feats.
But I'm thinking maybe its better to go one level into war cleric like you did.
There's a point to holding the strength club with the titan string bow and drinking elixir of bloodlust instead of elixir of strength for extra attacks.
10 lvl moon druid, 2 lvl totem barbarian, so ya get rage,... so you rage first, then wild shape to your favorite elemental. rage gives ya resistency to all but psych damage and a little damage boost.
as a moon druid you will stay all your life in wild shape form and can't concentrate in any spell so a lvl 6 spell slot won't affect you that much...
sorry my english is rusty.
a moon druid isn't a controller but a frontline.. if you play moon druid/ totem barbarian, you will make even hounor mode looks like easy
Is there an equipment that gives self haste?
Sort of. There's at least 1 bow that lets you cast haste 1/long rest, and there are potions of speed which give you 3 turns of effectively haste.
For the bard build, I did 4 levels in swords bard, 6 levels battlemaster fighter, and 1 level in wizard just to have the ability to learn mirror image and have shield. So we got 3 feats, you get archery, from fighter and plenty of options to deal some nice effects on your shots + action surge. Helmet of arcane acuity + the ring that allows you to cast enchantment and illusion spells as a bonus action after an attack is nasty. Finally you get the you get the armor of Baal by becoming an unholy assasin. Get the feats sharpshooter, crossbow expert, and ability score improvement to get your dex up to 18. Two daggers to wield, those being the dagger murder weapon used on father loran and the dagger you get from cazador. I suggest the clock of displacement and as for boots it's your choice but boots of speed are nice. The armor of ball will have you making enemies vulnerable in your within 7ft and since you got crossbow expert you can do the double shot from swords bard to annotate anything on the game even in honor mode. I think there is a bug with the armor as if you are within 7ft and toggle the debuff to piercing off and on the enemy just becomes vulnerable. So you hitting for like 100 damage an attack if you do the ranged flourish. If your pair this with the version of the bard build you made here then it's ludicrous because your just moving, making enemies vulnerable while your second archer is just cleaning house lol. Oh also Risky ring is a nice pairing to help with your chance to hit but I used this build for my honor mode with friends so that I didn't have to worry about getting any of the in-game stat buffs.
