Would it be, that simple XC bike would work better?
Like Trek Marlin\Caliber\Xcaliber - light weight, hard tail, and with all terrain tires.
Because running on trail offloads on full sus, not comfortable, less efficient,too much friction, and they will worn fast, especially rear
