Copied the video to the letter. Job done! Simple, well shot, easy to follow and refreshingly, not about the ego of the person for once. Well done Gav and thanks 👍
Nice one! Thanks for the comment! 👌👍👍
Absolutely brilliant video! Started teaching my daughter to drive and then the indicators stopped working (typical). This saved me an expensive trip to the mechanic. Clear instructions from beginning to end, job done, and a happy daughter looking forward to her next lesson! Thanks so much 😊
Thank you very much. With replaying your video after every setting. It took 2 hours. But thank you for your help.
Thanks a lot for this, my step daughters' C1 had a failing indicator stalk, it was just getting temperamental.and needed jiggling to make the indicators come on. I did have some trouble getting the old stalk assembly off the steering shaft, it didn't want to budge despite pinching the metal clip with pliers. In the end I had to use a screwdriver as a lever behind the stalks to break them free. All came together in the end though, thanks for the clear instructions!
This is the best tutorial I’ve watch! Thank you for making it so clear. My other half and daughter have the problem with the indicators at the same time on their cars and I have managed to do both by watching this. Brilliant thank you. Scott
Glad it helped! thanks for the comments, feedback is always appreciated! 😃👌👍
Excellent video! I'll give most things a go but there was a couple of stages during this task that I could have fell foul of without watching this video through first.
Took two hours from start to finish with the help of this video, thank you!
Nice one! Glad to hear it 👍👍
Saved us £246. Such clear instructions would not have been able to do this with instruction manual. Thank you sooo much 😘
You're welcome! glad it helped! thanks fir the comments 👍👌😃
Just changed my sister's indicator stalk after watching this video, and it's spot on. Everything I needed to know was covered, nice one.
glad you got it sorted! thanks for the comment 👍👌
Brilliant video, thank you so much. Managed to get the job done in an afternoon today. The steering wheel was a sod to get off but I finally achieved it by use of brute force, ignorance and a big hammer. I did find getting the bottom cover difficult to undo as I'm not as bendy as I used to be and the eyesight isn't so good peering up a very small tunnel to try and spot a screw at the far end. However, taking the steering wheel off first gave me the necessary wriggle room. I put the column covers back on before reattaching the steering wheel for the same reason. Reconnected battery and everything worked. Cost of part under £20, no specialist tools required. Saved me a fortune!
👍👍 glad to hear it
Brilliant video many thanks, far easier than flicking back and forth in the Haynes Manual, nothing missed out, and all back together and working again.
Thanks for the comment , much appreciated 👌👍
Quality video. Very precise and well filmed.
Thank you very much!
Thank you my friend for this precious helping hand and for your very clear explanation. Have a nice day
Thank you! You too!
Great Tutorial. Thumbs up to you.
I'm quite confident with some car repairs, but it always nice to get a refresher every now and then. I repaired a friends car in about an hour. The local garage wanted £180 to fix it, but it only cost me £30. That was for the indicator stalk and a pair of long nose pliers.
Keep up the good work.
Nice one, thanks for the comments! much appreciated as a small YT channel 😃👍👌 there will be plenty more to follow
Top video and thanks. Have followed this to the letter to replace the indicator stalk on my daughters C1. Perfect job completed in an hour or so. Cheers,

A no nonsense video, straight to the point and job done good work mate

Cracking video mate. Doing this tomorrow and this was a huge help 👌👍
Glad it helped 👍👍
Really clear video thanks- managed to do it though the steering wheel was an absolute nightmare to pull off! 👍👍
Nice one , thanks for the comment! Yeah they can be abit tight some times 😬
Excellent video and clear explanation. As others have commented, followed your intstructions and replacement was made very easy. Thanks.

Glad to help Phil , thanks for the comment 👌👍
very useful video, clear and easy to follow. Thanks!
👍👍
Great video, really well explained. Just finished doing it and it's all working fine. One suggestion, the bottom cowling is a pain to get on while the steering wheel is in place. Possibly put it on first before putting the steering wheel on.
thanks for the comment, much appreciated 👍 Ill take note of that for next time 👌
Did it, wouldn't have been possible without a guide. Didn't have a mallet, so I wedged up some cardboard between the steering column and my hammer as not to damage anything. I was still able to re-thread the nut on. Didn't have a 19mm socket (or whatever it takes) but I do have a 3/4" which fit.
Now I've got to figure out the cowling, but I don't need that to drive.
👍 what ever works , at least you got it done 👌
Brilliant video, took me all of 20mins👍🏻
Great to hear!
Nice clear video mate.... Very good!😊
Thanks a lot! 👍👍
Look fairly easy so I'm going to give it a go. Just need to get T30 long enough as I think mine won't fit in the recesses in the airbag part. I'll try to remember to post again when I've done the job. Cheers.
👍 yeah no bad to do mate
Graat vid. Followed it and repair no problem. Many thanks
Nice one, thanks for the comment 👌👍
Thanks, made the job easy!
👍👍 glad to help
Brilliant video! just changed the switch on my son's C1 and all went exactly as per the video - thanks.
You're welcome! glad it helped
@@diydaly My son just texted me, the air bag light has come on. Was ok yesterday when he drove home. Any ideas?
@@KN-yc8wu most likely due to the squib, was it disturbed ? The need to be kept in exactly the same position mate
@@diydaly not disturbed as shown in your video. Horn works for all steering wheel positions, and fault appeared about 10min after my son set off home. I'll check connectors when I get chance but was wondering if fault would be logged on ecu?
@@KN-yc8wu yeahs that odd , could just be the connection onto the squib it’s self , it will have stored the fault in the airbag ecu so hopefully that will point you in the right direction , only other possibility is the under seat pretensioner connections , I presume you’ve move the seat abit while doing the job, this might of disturbed the connection.. sometimes just simply disconnecting/re connecting and clearing the fault code will work.. if not you may need to hardwire the connection..
Very good video, but only tool you need to sort it out is Electrical cleaner, spray it from side where are the indicators and play with them for 5 min. I had 5 of these c1/107 and this method always work and cost you £3 and 5-10 min job 👍
thanks 👍, ive done the before but find it doesn't last very long mate
Brilliant, worked a treat.
Glad you got it done , thanks for the comment, much appreciated 👌👍
outstanding car.
have done cruise control on it.
happy days😀
👌👍👍
Thanks just changed mine
Part £25
Labour £0 😊
👍👍
Excellent video. Thanks
Glad to help 👍👌
Cheers for filming this 👌👌👌
Glad to help
can I change only the left manet, with out the center part?
Excellent. Would you please help me to change? Thanks a lot
Thanks for this - everything has gone like a dream right up to the spring clip behind the indicator - despite squeezing it together there is no movement on the indicator assembly? I can't work out why it's not coming off - any ideas? cheers
sorted it - found the plastic retaining clip and released that
👍👍 nice one 🙌
Hi! So far everything smooth but now I’m having the same problem - despite squeezing the clip and loosening the metal ring, the indicator doesn’t come out. Could you explain what needs to be released? What’s the plastic retaining clip and where is it? Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
Changed mine, went great thanks to your video but the indicator doesn't self cancel. The stalk was admittedly quite cheap. Could the self-cancel issue be something i did wrong or just a cheap indicator stalk?
I’d say it’s more likely the stalk at fault tbh , there’s isn’t too much to get wrong
Is it necessary to put keys back in whilst doing it after removing cowling.
no you can leave out 👍
@DIYDaly Thank You, 100%too marks video was as said, even down to screw type and size of hex screw. Brilliant. Defo saved a few Bob today
Took total of 10mins watching 5mins getting tools ready, 25mins , job done ✔️ 👏just edited my typo errors
@@leighwaters9805 Nice one! glad it helped 👍👍
followed instructions but once done airbag light is constantly flashing now
Are you sure you didn’t turn the airbag squib,. They are very easily to break if they are not kept central
