Even if you’ve never flown a radio controlled (RC) airplane before, the HobbyZone® Apprentice® S 2 1.2m is designed to make learning to fly with a more “traditional” trainer easy and fun! It’s an updated version of one of our best-selling trainer aircraft - the Mini Apprentice S 1.2m - and is scaled down from the larger E-flite Apprentice STS 1.5m design so it’s more affordable and more convenient to fly at large parks and sports fields in addition to typical RC flying fields. The Apprentice S 2 is equipped with Horizon Hobby's exclusive and innovative SAFE technology, making it possible for almost anyone to learn to fly successfully. Beneath its durable exterior, pilots will find an efficient brushless motor along with a telemetry-capable ESC plus a Smart battery and charger (battery and charger sold separately for the BNF® Basic version). The wide-stance tricycle landing gear with a steerable nose wheel and oversized tires offers improved ground handling for easier take offs and landings. Optional floats can also be installed for takeoffs and landings on water!

The Eflite Apprentice is in my opinion the perfect plane to learn on. I helped a young fella learn on one like you have and it was beat up pretty bad. Even though it had scars from learning he was still able to fly it. These are well built planes from Eflite. I also recommend the use of a simulator for a beginner like Realflight 9.5. A simulator and this Apprentice is a perfect combination to learn on, especially if you are going it alone like I did. However, if you can learn at a flying field with an experienced Pilot you will progress more rapidly. Wesley, excellent tutorial. Well done my friend. 👍👍😊

Very nicely presented. Clear and concise, which is a great help to understand how it works and what to do. Thank you!!

I bought this model , its on its way, but I did not realize the STS was bigger, now I feel stupid, and wonder if I
would have been better off with the STS 1.5 meter? This will be my first plane

Thank you for this nice and useful video! I would like to ask your opinion about an issue. When I put standard alcaline AA batteries in the DXS receiver the capacity is half consumed after 1 long flight. Is it normal or might it be a problem with the transmitter ?

Hi bro ...i've been following your channel for a long time and thanks to this video i bought apprentice 1.2 rtf. I have a problem that I do not understand and I cannot solve: even when I deactivate the SAFE and fly only in AS3X, if I push the engine to the maximum the plane starts to gain altitude and rears totally upwards, not allowing me a normal trajectory of the vehicle. I then bought a UMX timber x and associated it with the DXS that I had supplied with the apprentice and it does the same thing. I am desperate

As I recall, some RTF planes have a mix that when you head toward the higher end of throttle there some elevator input.

I'm having an issue with my mini apprentice; bnf out of the box, assembled as per the instructions, bound using my own dx8 1st gen transmitter, proceeded to check control throws; throttle(fine) elevator (fine) rudder((fine) aileron( it move but not by itself, it drags the rudder along with it( like they are mixed or something. Tried different things like swapping the servo wires on the receiver(nothing) checked the mixes on the transmitter, they are in INH, and still nothing, aileron stick input still moving the ailerons and rudder together, ran out of options.
What can I do? Is that the way the controls on this airplane suppose to move straight out of the box? Is it a factory defect?
    Did I do something wrong?
Been using my First gen dx8 for the longest with no issues so far, got over a dozen planes saved on it and they all work fine.

Aileron has rudder mixing in SAFE mode. It is done in the receiver. It should only be active in safe. AeroScout does the same thing.
