    Hint: Use the Plastic Cleaning Rod Handle to PUSH THE SLIDE STOP PIN OUT! It can TAP OR PUSH and won’t Scratch the Firearm up!

    I was able to follow instructions of the break down, cleaning, lube, and put back together on my S&W 3953. Had gun for 25 years, not much used but had not been cleaned in over 15 years. Got it looking like new. Thank you for taking your time to share your knowledge. Tony

    Love the 3913, have had one in new condition for many years and it is the most favorite handgun i've ever owned. It's too bad that these quality 3rd gen smiths are long out of production. Great video!

    Bought one used, no manual this video helped, shoots good. The decocking safey is great feature.

    F for maintenance. Really should go to someone who knows that particular firearm like a gunsmith and have them teach you how to properly maintain it. Jamming parts in the wrong way and such..

    Just picked up 1 today like new. Mine only has de-cocker on left side. It’s also a DA/SA model. Some videos are showing double action only.

    Those are great handguns. I have one in excellent condition and recently tried to sell it because of the tough unemployment situation we have going on right now. I was very surprised that after posting this 3913 on multiple gun sites that not even one person inquired about buying it. Especially considering the reasonable price it was listed for and the great condition of this quality firearm. When i tried to purchase a 3913 several years ago they were nearly impossible to find in excellent condition even back then. I guess the only thing people are interested in these days are the plastic wonder nines that won't last a third of the time that these well made 3913's will. These hi quality all metal guns seems to have taken a back seat to the tupperware guns of today. Sad but unfortunately true!

    Nice. That's one of the older variants before they switched to a MIM hammer and trigger.

    I have a slight problem. Upon putting mine back together the hammer follows the slide back home upon racking it. Do you know what causes this?

    • @TheHappyLife-h7b
      @TheHappyLife-h7b  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you sure you are putting the slide back on right?

    • @thesmokinggun8674
      @thesmokinggun8674 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I took the hand gun completely apart followed everything step by step. For some reason the hammer just follows the slide home.

      The round (nonmetalic) grip end of the screwdriver...

    • @Ideo7Z
      @Ideo7Z 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plastic mallet or hammer. Stainless steel galls easily so I cringed at the use of a screwdriver.

      It belongs to a friend of ours so i don’t have experience shooting it but it seems like it would be a nice shot because of the weight.

    Why would you use a screwdriver on a classic. You could mar or scratch the frame.
    A plastic pen top would do it.
    Hard metal to aluminum doesn’t do well.
    I would never give you one of my guns to clean.
    Your a hack with your friends gun.

    A screwdriver?!!! Use a plastic punch or other plastic or nylon tool, NEVER a screwdriver.
