Keeping Up Support to Ukraine - Defining as Long as It Takes?
In July 2023 President Biden declared that Putin had already lost the war in Ukraine. In the spring of 2024, however, the situation is less clear. While Ukraine has defined victory as the complete liberation of its territory, the West promises to support Ukraine as long as it takes, without a clear definition. But how do we define as long as it takes? What kind of support does Ukraine need to win? What would be the consequences if the support were to stop?

But when it comes to Europe, you expect the World to help your cause. Plain and Simple. And it's good that there's someone to remind Europeans about their hypocrisy. Which part of not our problem is so difficult to understand? When pakistan subjected india to terror under a nuclear overhang for decades, europe averted their eyes. In fact provided aid and support to pakistan. When china attacked india, europe happily expanded their trade and support to china. Not a peep of support to india. But suddenly when europe has a problem, india has to help. Why?
I also think and I would like your opinion that Russia is a stabilizing power between India and China. There are tensions but Russia is a brilliant negotiator to keep heads calm. There is a common goal between these countries and yes they are competitive but it has never escalated beyond a point of all out war. There is a bigger mission at hand and that is to create a truly multipolar world where power isn't just concentrated in the west over all other countries.

If Europeans are struggling to fight a relatively weaker version of Russia (and US deliberating whether to commit or not), it is a nightmare to imagine what the response would be if the strongest version of China (current one) decides to invade any of its neighbors. On a side note, the way the woman panelist spoke was adorable. Reminds me of soft-spoken primary school teachers.
She's the prime minister of Estonia. Her husband is a very successful businessman who does a lot of business with Russia. People don't want to highlight it.

A very one sided debate. It looks like something blasphemous was said by Samir to throw off everybody off balance. None of the panelists except him had anything coherent to say.
The accusation of "whataboutism" is absurd in principle, as it makes it impossible to take a global view of the balance of power in the world, as if there were a local view of events when analyzing a local conflict.
It is obvious that the USA has repeatedly violated the territorial integrity of other nations in recent decades, Iraq being a glaring example of this. At the 2007 Security Conference, Putin stated that the "rules based order" permanently disregarded international law - he indicated that Russia would not put up with this in the long term.17 years later, Russia has now acted in Ukraine.
The shock to the West is not the war or the war in Europe, the shock is that for the first time since 1945 a state is taking military action against the West, which is the only reason why the moral outrage is so great - how dare they question our monopoly on the use of force, that is the crux of the matter. This is the only reason why the West is prolonging its support for a war in Ukraine that it has already lost.

Ukraine is actually the outskirts of Russia. This is how the name of this "country " is translated. Ukraine is a Russian land that came under the occupation of Lithuania and Poland in the Middle Ages. Ukrainians are a Russian sub-ethnic group that has lost its identity and has become prone to conjuncture, resentment and betrayal.
Ukrainian is the Russian language, a simplified and distorted language of the villagers. Ukraine is an artificial state that was accidentally formed in 1991.
No, it isn't. Creation of new words in Slavic languages is messy and unclear at best, throughout history. There was a state existing where Urkaine is earlier than around moscow. Just because Ukrainians have been subjected for hundreds of years to forced russification doesn't mean they willingly gave up their culture. They were forbiddento use their language, artists were killed, leaders were killed. Those killed were replaced by russians on the area
