Sold my Harley to purchase a Storm a couple years ago, great bike , no regret's. Triumph accessaries are cheap, couldn't believe it. Tors pipe was under $400. dealer did the install and remap for free.
I have the 2011 thunderbird storm . good looking bike . I think the biggest complaint about these bikes , the motors are very noisy hearing just about everything inside the motor seems to be not normal but apparently is with these bikes . Has now about 11000 miles on it , runs well .
Just a minute while I activate my 'iconic' filter.. OK, start again.. Yes, it's a vertical twin but the 270° crank effectively makes it a 90° vee twin..
If you're concerned about quality, go to your nearest Triumph showroom and get up close with the T-bird. The fit and finish is incredible (as it should be at that price) and in my opinion out does my own 2011 Harley.
@@Peter-976 "Gold standard" lol, yeah the price. Ride a Triumph once and whatever else you own will be gone. And thats coming from an old diehard Harley guy.
I love the comparison of Harleys to that pretty girl at school who never developed :) Got an SMT and actually thinking of getting one of these as a second bike, trying the rocket III too but think it will be too big sized for me...already tested the Hammer S which was lovely except for the tail bone ache after...
Owned a Vulcan 1600.....great motor ...but a bit nasty built......liked relaxed motors ....cannot come at a harley ....too many reliability issues....the tbird with 270 degree motor sounds good with right pipes......
Own a2011. T bird bought it new great bike abs like it so much buying it little brother. A 900legand 2000 model used tom don't forget triumph making bikes before Harley take. A trumpet any day before a Harley for dependability and ride. Cheaper to maintain good product
Marcus, you haven't lived until you have a gear indicator. They are just wonderful, if you are spacing out after a few tokes of the good stuff, it's nice to be able to look down at the dash, then wonder why you have looked down at the dash, then go, "oh yeah, I wonder what gear I'm in. Then you notice you're still in first, and you're going ten miles per hour. TEN MILES PER HOUR??!!. But it seems so much faster, how can that be? I recently had a gear senior moment. I had gotten up on the city expressway and been riding for 2 or 3 miles. When what to my surprise, a Harley goes by and has to give me the obligatory blast of the pipes. I don't like Harley riders much, which is understandable, I ride a BMW R1100R. So I pull back up on him and give him the evil squint, which causes him to let it rip. I grab a handful of velvety smooth throttle and glide past him like he's on a tractor. I get it up to around 110 mph, and the damn thing starts cutting out and running awful......what the fuck is going on, I slow down, then accelerate, seems ok. It's never missed a beat, being a mechanic I'm poring over potential problems, fuel pump, crank sensor, then I notice, the tachometer is bumping red-line. I go a little slack jawed, I'm only going a 100 or so, what could be the problem, is my clutch slipping, has the tire gone flat, then it occurs to me, maybe I have another gear to go..........CLICK, what a relief. I had neglected to engage top gear. It's easy to do if your motorcycle is smooth and quiet. Well, not easy, but possible.
Agree to disagree, I've had plenty of tokes and plenty of beers and I still see and hear RPMs, as well as see my speedo just fine. When you drive a stick shift, do you need a gear indicator for that too? It's just cheesy and juvenile looking on a bike.
I rely on my feelings. The speed i'am goin', The tork my bike is givin'. I dont even have a rpm gage nor a fuel gage. 200 km done...time to fuel up. Ho yea... and no clock.
I agree, to I would like to have a gear indicator on my '14 Storm, as 6th gear could certainly be a bit taller, I find myself attempting to switch an extra gear when I'm already there, haha.
If you took the time to look, you'll see that the latest reviews were the Kawasaki H2 SX, Yamaha Niken, Yamaha Tracer, Husqvarna and another Kawasaki. If you're not happy Eric, you know the answer, go and find free content somewhere else.
In the last 10 shows is there 1 show that did not have a ducati triumph or ktm on.You might want to go to mothercare for a new dummy cos you just spat yours
Eric Byers we know exactly who owns Husqvarna Eric, still not a KTM in the show though is it. Looks like you’re a good few months behind the times old chap, we haven’t been on a triumph since February and the last Ducati was March. Keep up grandma.

Got mine a couple of months back, cant't stop riding. its a beautiful mean monster.

Yeah, it's hard to ignore all that valve chatter, especially bouncing off the inside of the stock windscreen. 'Makes me always question its soundness.
Try looking on the channel, there are a few more recent vids. One was only on our TV show last week!
How tall is the guy in this video?
I used to visit the Ace in the 1960's also the Busy Bee. My local café the Blinking Owl on the A127 at Raleigh.

Beautiful bike, certainly a HD beater. Triumph is possibly my favourite bike manufacturer these days, Thruxton R looks incredible too
There isn't a motorcycle article or video where Harley isn't dragged into it, they must be doing something right mate.
Exactly. It`s the gold standard that every company compares their bike to.

Looking at this for my first Motorcycle, any advice is appreciated!
Buy one and ride it…

Lol. That Harley analogy killed me.
You are so cool...we've just heard about the Ace in Canada....and now you rate that
classic cruiser there...gotta love Triumph.
My dream, I'll have one someday!

Absolutely love the Harley / School girl analogy. Brilliant.
Triumphs make excellent bikes
Oooooouuuuuuuh! Luv it so much boy! But did you tell the price? Sorry if I did not heard it, I am German 👽
dude blacked out handle bars would look awesome
Dilip Alexander Done. Triumph has just released the Nightstorm. It's all blacked out and looks mean as hell.
"looks better than most harley's you've seen". it's better than any harley i've seen.
Needs a gear indicator for this 6 speed machine!!!
You're kidding right? Who the hell needs a gear indicator? You don't pick gear by speed, you pick by RPM. All you need is ears, not an indicator.

All good and well, but how about actually releasing some current stuff?
1:49 starts the
loved my birds... had two of them..... lol but not a rocket 3
Traded in a Sprint ST 1050 for one of these. I REALLY like it. :)
I ride a hd but we respect triumphs.
The only concerns I have are quality and reliability.
Have one. 2014. Quality and reliability are top grade. And don't need a gear indicator! Just listen to your bike.
Quality and reliability are great, have had no problem in two years.
compared to Harley???
homerun triumph, what will i do with all my Harley Davidson shirts!?
polish your triumph..........
It’s discontinued in the States
I'm very interested in this bike; could you please tell us how tall you are? Thanks a lot
Word man !
Where is this guy, now?
He’s working for Alpinestars now.
Still a beauty, I mean the bike
Great vid....thank you
Beautiful bike in the world top one 👍
Had it , sold it, regret it.
Шикарно!
You explained my wife to a t
It sounds like a sewing machine to me. A Harley Beater I don't think so.
stelthy100 Oh yes it is. The finish and performance are miles better than Harley.
+stelthy100 It doesn't take much to beat a Harley my friend. This Triumph is all class!
Ho yes it is. Done it many times. You can read about it to. This machine is a tork beast.
It is a Harley beater but the stock pipes do sounds like a sewing machine, haha. I've got the shorties and it sounds badass.
Best Cruiser!
Shame he and suzui not on bike world its just track day bell ends now . Has anyone noted they always have ducati ktm triumph every show

He is weird who says word these days
Who needs this type off bike you can only cruise on it what's the big stupid engine for 1600 why its looks lumpy heavy not for the real world
Did you just compare a machine to some self-devised stereotype of a human? You should talk less and listen more.
needs to be a vtwin just looks like crap
