This made me very happy to see pro-guide batteries in this video!!! I had the pleasure of working for the company and it’s great people and a great product!!!
Another thing you could do for a down the road situation is on the top of your roof where the 3 panels go to 1, on the camper side of the plug going into the roof, swap that connector out for a 2 connector and then you can run a daisy wire down to the ground to connector external cheap foldable panels that you can put in angle of the sun, or they can lay on top of your awning when its extended with not much worry about weight.
you may find that fuse will possible be for the electric brakes. we have a similar style camper in Australia, and when i did my lithium upgrade the old link went out the window into the trash. now you have the solar controller in try a dc2dc controller on the 7 pin plug feed as close as to the battery so you can have both solar and car feeds charging at the same time. plus the dc2dc charger s normally have a solar input to them which can be used for the portable solar for extra days in the bush. nice job to by the way Happy Camping.
Info for you... Which won’t help! I’m in the electrical supply business and I do sell those Wago’s. Everybody I deal with calls the “Way-go’s”. I call the factory, and they call them “Wah-go”. Take your damn pick! 😂😂
Awesome up grade! The thing I like the most is being able to monitor the input and usage of the system to make a sustainability projection. Super cool!
How did i miss this one. LFG This is what i do for the phone company. They use Big Batteries. DC power. I bet you didnt know your land line phone is DC. Put No OX on the batteries. So your leads will not corrode.
Funnily enough, I was just thinking about your camper the other day. I drove past the place where you bought it in Aberdeen, Mississippi. It's closed down and the place is abandoned now. Pandemic times probably weren't good for them unfortunately.
Thank you for the great idea that is normally not a part of the build, with all the replacement's seems that camper companies should include this upgrade on new travel trailers. Who would not pay the slightly higher price for the convenience than to pay even more later to convert.
DUDE! I thought you had developed some kind of crazy new form of video. The VERY instant you turned on that fan the office a/c came on and the vent over my head started blowing cool air. Got a little freaked out for a half a second.
I know this is totally off topic..but I stumbled across your video about waking up from brain surgery when searching for videos about what to expect from having your head operated on. In 3 weeks I'll have a craniotomy for an aneurysm..and I'm terrified and had no idea what to expect. Yours was the only video I found that gave me some idea. I'm still not looking forward to it..but at least I have some idea of what to expect and I wanted to thank you for that. God Bless and I hope Willis is gone for good. BTW...my dad lives in Emory..in between Lake Fork and Lake Tawakoni. Just an interesting coincidence! Take care and enjoy the new toy~
Shoud have gone with a redarc Manager 30. Not only will it draw power from the solar but also your car using as much solar as it can first and.... you can use it as a 110v charger as well oh and it's Aussie made.. 1 product doing all 3 things plus more..
This looked like it turned out great for you. Hope all goes well next time you get to really put it n action. I’m concern with the fires I’ve heard about on those batteries. Stay safe. ~ Texas
Justin did y’all say that the new Opuses are coming with the Lithium batteries? Thanks for the video and your rebuild looks amazing and now you and your family can stay out a lot longer plus when your alone you won’t have any worries now!!! Take care and be safe god bless y’all. Chickens look pretty good and so do the eggs!!!
Unfortunately what you’re seeing with loose screws and just general fit and finish issues is a problem that plagues the industry and it’s just an accepted facet of owning an rv. It’s hard enough with a home on wheels for most people only seeing pavement and cement pads but now you have off-road campers being introduced and bringing light to a whole new host of “how can we fortify this better” when you’re going through whatever nature gives you from the southwest, PNW, and Northeast.
Great and very useful video! I am doing something very similar. What did you do with the solar controller transformer you ID at 16M 17s of this video. Did you keep it or remove it along with the original solar controller in lieu of your new solar controller?
@lakeforkguy In your Big Bend video, you stated that the outlets and USB plugs did not work without shore power. Is that correct or did you just miss a power switch somewhere? Seems like an odd setup for a rig that is supposed to be an off grid juggernaut to not be able to simply charge a phone or GPS when you are in the boondocks.
I bet you just cut at least 120 lbs off your camper. I know a guy that just had his hunting "golf" cart to lithium, but the setup he got is just one big battery, it's kinda like 6 batteries all in one. I'm not sure what it cost him, I know it wasn't cheap, but his cart now works much better and goes further without ever losing any power/speed like AGMs. When AGMs get like half depleted the cart starts losing power/speed, and with the lithiums, it never losses any power/speed until they are completely dead. So, with the lithiums, it's best to keep an eye on your power gauge because when they're dead, they're completely dead. lol.
I'm confused why you would go from 3 batteries with 200 amp hours to 3 batteries with 100 amp hours. That's half the discharge time. I would have kept my AGM batteries and got better solar panels.
As someone who’s worked with wire connectors for 40 years, I have to disagree with your buddy. Wire nuts (party hats) that have been taped to the wires with good electrical tape are the best high vibration wire connections for high current connections.
LakeForkGuy, Epic video, very informative, your video could be a how-to for installing lithium batteries, good thing you had a friend to help get you through it.

What If you added a propane generator as well just incase you got a streak of overcast days.

Welcome to team Pro Guide my friend!!
Thanks Lance for the big assist... LFG nice to see you in another activity which could benefit content creation...
Atleast LFG takes you along ... Lunkers cant keep 4 ideas straight
Awesome episode Brother! Shoutout to Lance for the assist of getting the Opus Family Ready 👊🏼😎🤙🏼

heck of a rig man

LFG, I think you oughta bring back the LFG Fishing Freak hats!
“Now you can eat more Donut’s” that’s what I’m talking about!
Looks like a Forest River HW popup in the back ground, we have one of those and enjoyed it for a couple years.
What an awesome upgrade ,
Whoo Hoo 💥.
Camp on LFG Family 💖
JO JO IN VT 💞💨❄️☃️
Camping for life... I like it!
Awesome job to Lance!
Hey LFG...when you pulled the "unknown" fuse in the camper did you check the lights in your house...LOL!
Haven't you checked into lithium burning down homes and cars!? 😲🤔🤯💯👍🙏.God bless yall

Steamboat trout is the best! The yampa is loaded!

I would love a review on your lithium setup in the silver bullet. Looking for some data on how long they last on a heavy day on the trolling motor.
Good thing Lance is your friend and not charging you $110hr

That fuse might go to power tongue jack if you have one
Sounds like good times. Cook one silvery for me
LFG, I think that mystery fuse is to the carbon monoxide alarm. It is a 2 amp fuse.
@LakeForkGuy1_
Hey LFG, did I win something?
Line tracer would be helpful with projects like this

That little fuse may go to your power tongue Jack if you have one!?!?
We call them Legos..there awesome as long as the wire is in the connector fully

Thinking about doing this to my golf cart
Great Job! Next time tell Lance to get rid of the UT shirt. This is AGGIE country
There’s a lot of cool extras but I went and looked. Those batteries are a little expensive compared to some. I’ve seen almost twice as much.
My man. They invented a thing called a ladder. LOL!!
“Party hats”. I was 😂😂😂. Also, u should always use electrical tape to hold ur “party hats” on. Also , my new boat wiring was 😡🤦♂️
This video gave me anxiety about my motorcycle battery. Probably gonna need a new one again. It's like one every two or three years.
Those batteries are crazy expensive! But worth it Im sure!
Awesome video

Co2 detector could be going off due to off gassing of the interior materials...???
Does that little inline fuse go to your radio?
I'm an Australian better watch what ya say... nah just kidding mate.
Those 3 batteries around 3k shipped
All that stuff is well above my pay grade
what kind of pop up does your friend have?
Can you post a link to the Shunt?
Man for 4k you could’ve bought a Redarc system lol.
Wow
If you read the owners Manuel yearly roof maint is required to maintain the unit warranty. No one’s called you Lol
does it go to your AC?

Just curious. If you don't want to electrocute your friend today, when do you want to?
Hi 🙋♀️ ❤❤LFG❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

If a wire nut is put on two straight wire's and let the wire nut do the twisting it's a pretty solid way of connecting. I've never had one let go.
As an automotive tech I find these things on the floorboard all the time you guys suck

Just need someone to yell at me for holding the flashlight wrong

Opus sucks. Told ya.
Same with black series. China.
