I got a new 18 Agean Blue for $19,900!! (I used to work for the desk manager) How do u know when you REALLY like a car?? When u want to drive it ALL THE TIME.......and I do!!
+Steve Hammes I'm glad you still doing reviews man. I remember you doing reviews more than three years ago back when the GTR was here in the US IN 2009.
I'm really wanting a gti. But everytime a see a new si coupe it makes me second guess what I want. The si looks really good in person. Like it has high quality paint and build quality. Still may be getting Gti gonna have to take em both for a spin!
The Si makes a really good case for itself. I own a Type R, and I find myself looking wantingly at these Si sedans to add a bit of simple fun to my stable.
Love the new SI.... but Steve, are you surprised by the inclusion of these cost-cutting halogens on a 2017 model? The car needs and deserves Honda/Acura's LED eyes.
Were you "KEPT FEELING FASCINATED" during your time with the Civic Si??? :P And oh, Honda should have offered it in the hatchback body style instead of the sedan with LED headlights. I understand the Canadian spec Si have LED headlights.
Any word on the availability of the Clarity plug-in in the east coast? I saw a preview video from a source in California. The specs are promising, $34K before any incentives, 47 mile electric range and it's a true 5 seater.
very torn between this, st, and gti. i can get a base st or gti for a tad cheaper than the si after incentives. the si is underpowered but maybe the homdata tune would bring it up to par plus it comes with 38mog highway and 450watt stereo. very hard decision. already test drove focus st1(base model) and what a fun car
Jonny O im 40 years old and majority of my cars have bern ford products so i haveto disagree with you..they have never left me stranded, always been reliable. were i do agree is fit and finish
505 enthusiast I really like both of those cars you mentioned. You can’t go wrong with any of them. It likely would come down to personal preference. I’m really not sure which one I would choose. Probably VW, Civic, Ford but the value of the Civic is highest.
If you know how to drive, this car for under $25k, is one of the best deals in the business.
The Coupe looks pretty cool, too.
Nissan TitanWarrior coupe would be my pick. Seen a few in person look very good.. Nice build quality
They're going OTD for $22k
Mitul Jariwala that's really good
Nissan TitanWarrior its too frugal compared to gti wrx focus st
jay czyzyk you’re right on the performance aspect but the SI is the best long term daily driver.
I love my 2018 Honda Civic Si!
I wish they made an Si Touring and TypeR Sedan Model..

How the hell do you drive a type r daily??!! Must be hard being in 3 gear without speeding lol

M T the Canadian 2017 si comes equipped with LED headlights from the Civic Type R, navigation, wireless phone charging and a better tuned exhaust !
Love the si....and a great looking car..great review
Thanks, Adrian.
Very nice short review.

Your new avatar threw me! But after I reread the comment I knew it had to be you ;-)

It's the best in it's class. Fully Loaded, best bang for your buck. And feels like a really high quality product. Not to mention it comes with LSD.
I want to like it, but I just can't get over the fake grille openings. I prefer the base front end.
TandemDawgBMG I'm sure some company will develop a brake duct for it
Great review of a great car at an unbelievable price.
Thanks, Andy!
Great review. I love my Red Coupe Si 17 :-)
Thanks!
I'm not gonna lie, this is a really great vehicle, but I can't give up my Juke RS. lol
Dont give up the Juke, it has more horsepower than the Si!
@@buildmorefarms1007
But the SI is just as fun to drive (maybe more) and gets 40MPG!!!!!!
So....Steve, when do you take over for John Davis at MotorWeek?
I get asked that all time time - and I'm flattered - but my phone hasn't rung yet.
How was the dampening over Albany's horrendous roads?
Awesome Review, as Usual :-)
i bought the coupe but like the taillights of the sedan better
Hey Steve. This Si is sweet but unlike many, I would like the 8spd DCT from Acura along with Honda sensing
Fair points.

I haven't laughed this hard since I sold my first and only Ford
Jimbo Slice let me guess your a honda fanboy!
Test drive now how do you feel this car stacks up performance wise to the focus at and vw gti?

TestDriveNow Reviews by Auto Critic Steve Hammes thanks for the input!
How bad is the rev hang? I keep hearing about it in other reviews
505 enthusiast It’s not a big deal - just a talking point to stir the pot.
TestDriveNow Reviews by Auto Critic Steve Hammes lol good to know
You stop crying about a cold shifter... Boo hoo
POWER Ha! Fair enough.
It's the next feature, a heated shifter knob.
