  • I am always on the hunt for useful multi tool, and this Swiss+ Tech caught my eye. The price was attractive and at first look I liked it's tool set. It reminds me a lot of the Leatherman T-series of tools. Now let's see how it performs.

    Hi, I recently found your channel and really am liking it. About this pocket tool -- part of what I like is that it does NOT have a pocket clip; it has instead a carabiner clip that attaches nicely to the ring (for keys) inside my purse. [B/c girls needs multi tools too.] Thanks!

    3:12 - Try putting a small zip tie on the blade hole and cut the extra off, so it just leaves the notch sticking out. See if that works. It will give something bigger for your thumb to grip onto.

    I always have a pocket knife with a pocket clip. Multiple tools clipped to pockets are irritating. Being able to clip to a belt loop seems more advantageous. I always struggle though with a multi tool that does not have pliers.

    Very interesting little tool, I'd never seen this one before, I've got the Swiss+ Tech 17 in 1 micro pliers and they're great for small electronics work. They make really good quality micro/keyring tools.
    That phillips driver is a terrible design tho', so many Phillips screws are recessed !

    I really wish makers would replace the can opener on some models with something else. It’s just not something I’ll ever use.

      At $20 this thing is perfect. I can easily find an awl that would fit in place of the can opener and tap some holes for a pocket clip. But I am completely fine with just clipping it to my pants with the caribiner. You will never please the edc community.

    • @Northanteus
      @Northanteus 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can opener is decent for having an ability to open cans if you're out in the wild and camping ... and a SHTF situation for preppers, to open emergency canned foods/liquids. ;) Thus I see why they leave those can openers on many multitools. If not that then I'd leave the file on, and I'd like to see: 1) a 1/4" hex bit driver, and 2) scissors
      At the least, they could've put a 1/4" hex bit driver in the back of the handle, where the glass breaker is?
      As for never pleasing the edc community: I agree because everyone has different priorities since they're usually in different situations than many other people, and they want tailor custom tools for their situations. I thought they could've done something about: being able to customize the multitool for your own needs. It'd be like going to Subway and ordering a sandwich. At the counter, you tell them all of the ingredients you want on your sandwich. Why no company has done this is beyond me. That'd take off quick if someone did it right. I'm a newbie to looking deep into the topic of multitools so, maybe there is a company that does this and I've not heard of it yet. Surprising, either way.
      In the meantime, making a knife like seen above, you have to consider what *most* people will likely be using often. Number one would have to be 1/4" hex bit driver. Everyone runs into a situation where they have to screw in something, or drill this or that. Having the ability to pick and choose which size bit to use is amazing. Not being stuck with one size only. Same with scissors. Everyone will likely be using scissors pretty often, for misc. things: cutting string, rope, paper, etc. So I'd say those two are very reasonable suggestions.

    Not a big fan of multi-tool scissors myself, so its a non issue. They are barely useable in my book. I think the philips head is much better than the Leatherman. Looks like it would grab and seat better on a fastener head. A pocket clip is a non issue for me on a multi-tool. The fact that it is made in China is a major deal breaker for me!
