modern main battle tanks like the K2 Panther & T-14B Armata should discard (remove) the recessed co-axial gun in the frontal centre turret section (next to the 120 MM main gun) altogether . . . because modern day ground warfare is very different than that of Russian Spetsnaz fighting self proclaimed rebel armies of Afghanistan in the 1980s . . . besides remote weapons station makes the co-axial gun obsolete & totally unnecessary . . . surprisingly among hundreds of TH-cam® videos on main battle tanks none ever speak about the co-axial gun . . . the K2 Panther could do with a fixed raised suspension layout, a heavy duty 6.5 in. suspension lift will provide 30% additional ground clearance . . .
K-2 has hydropneumatic suspension with regulated ground clerance. As for coaxial MG - last ISW report about the Russia-Ukraine war stated only around 20% of tanks combat is tank vs. tank and 80% is tank vs. infantry. So removing coaxial is probably not so obvious. On the other hand K-2 is factory ready to accomodate 140mm gun instead of current 120mm - it may be at cost of coaxial.

Leclerc is great, but Leopard 2 and Abrams are just older designs - they could modernize many parts still making formidable tanks, but some technical solutions can't be modernised. I.e. both Abrams M1A2 SepV3 and Leopard 2 A7V use old conventional torsion bars suspension, when they were being designed regulated hydropneumatic suspension wasn't mature enough etc. Similar situation with modularity of the armor. Far more modern design simply has natural design advantages over 1980s Leopard and Abrams. Even worse are 1960s design like T-64/T-72/T-80/T-90, which are modernised Soviet 1960s T-64/72, even way more outdated than Leopard 2 and Abrams design.
Theoretically - no, as it has active protection sytem designed specifically to shoot down enemy ATGMs in flight. But in practice every system could be saturated if attacked with many Javelin launchers at the same time from the same direction. But this would be very expensive and the tank would have to be basically ambushed without cover.

German Leopart 2A7 is about 17million dollars. It was the most expensive tank at 1995.
8 million! Wow!
Another badass tank. Just like the M1 Abrams and the Leopard 2 series tanks.
K2 tank has ceramic pebbles in laminated armor thus it can withstand multiple hits better than ceramic plates in Western tanks which cracks after first hit. K2 120x55 caliber main gun can also elevate twice more than Western tanks using suspensions. K2 also has top attack munition that fires like mortar rounds and hit targets 8km away. K2 can also cross river using snorkel. During NATO war games, K2 proved that it has superior targeting system over other tanks. Most expensive !!??? The K2 is the best tank in the world, also for its price. It's one of the cheaper tank and still better than all other tanks.
The "K2 Black Panther" cost is $8.5 million, the French "Leclerc" is $16 million, the US "M1A2 SEP v3" is $19 million ($24 million for export) and the "German Leopard 2A8" is $30 million!!!
Price to performance, the K2 is unmatched! Those how said that the K2 is "the most expensive tank in the world", don't know how to do proper recherche.
If I was a defense minister of a country without a domestic defense industries for large equipment, I would buy tanks, self-propelled artillery, Multiple rocket launchers, Light utility vehicles and possible even fighter jets all from South Korea. Just like Poland did, they are really smart for buying from South Korea.
The South Koreans are incredibly smart and driven people. In such a short period of time, they've matched or surpassed Japan and America in technological and manufacturing prowess. If you compare your typical rural American Trump-supporter to his Korean counterpart, the difference is so vast in terms of intelligence and capability, it's no wonder America isn't so great anymore.

From the video you are right, however, they do armor it with reactive armor in combat situations and full combat training
@@mheekkim2901 The vid mentions that the composite armor's composition is 'unkown' (as in, a Hyundai secret). I wouldn't be surprised if it's comparable or superior to American or German composites. And, certainly, 'add-ons' and uprades to the armor would be expected...

Great tank.
No armour for the tracks if I wanted to immobilize the tank I would hit the exposed tracks.
Also due to entering and leaving tank the turret hatches would be target of thin armour.
We all seem to be living in the cold war with older technology.
Newer technology missles and anti tank weapon would take out modern technology with old technology armour.

In that case, look at the selling price of the Leopard 2a7 or 2a8 or M1, K2 is only half the price of these German and American tanks.

not really. Yes it's probably as cheap as Korean Tanks😝😝
The Commander, the Driver, & the Gunnerl all look vulnerable. The Automatic Reloader would be the target...
I am afraid that a bunch of cheap Turkish drones can end up rendering these tanks ineffective in battlefield...
Turkish drones can humiliate every tank but the only K2 users are South Korea, Poland and Turkey will produce it in 2030 in license called Altay so I don’t think these tanks will meet TB2 drones 😅
I'm not shocked at all. Not even slightly unsettled.
modern main battle tanks like the K2 Panther & T-14B Armata should discard (remove) the recessed co-axial gun in the frontal centre turret section (next to the 120 MM main gun) altogether . . . because modern day ground warfare is very different than that of Russian Spetsnaz fighting self proclaimed rebel armies of Afghanistan in the 1980s . . . besides remote weapons station makes the co-axial gun obsolete & totally unnecessary . . . surprisingly among hundreds of TH-cam® videos on main battle tanks none ever speak about the co-axial gun . . . the K2 Panther could do with a fixed raised suspension layout, a heavy duty 6.5 in. suspension lift will provide 30% additional ground clearance . . .
But for South Korea's main enemy, North Korea, that's necessary. We are dealing with an enemy of the Cold War haha
It will eat the M1 Abrams. Yet you don't think so.

Even the power pack is made in Korea. Let's do a search and buy it.

But now that the Koreans have a domestic engine/transmission they will probably soon be building the K-2A1 especially when looking at the amount of exports.
Overtaken? Nope. K-2 is the first line of fourth generation tanks, while Leopard, leclerc, abrams variants are the last line of third generation tanks. In other words, k-2 have a long road to go down while the others are at the end of their journey.

Will still be destroyed by a Javelin shot.
It’s basically German tank built by Koreans with a license for gun and motor imported from Germany. That is the best way to save money and time. I heard Poland bought 100 of this tank from South Korea.
