My concern with this tank is the upward angle of the turret armor in the front. Opposing the front deck angle just under it, it seems designed to 'collect' incoming rounds and guide them into the turret ring, which traditionally, is the tanks weakest point and i suspect that in the future, many an opposing RPG/ATGM/Tank (or similar) will thank Rheinmetall for the oversight. Also, the main guns firing arc of 9-20 degrees would compromise its effectiveness in urban and hilly terrain meaning it can't raise its gun enough to address high terrain threats. New Zealand found this flaw in Afghanistan when caught in a ravine and its Canadian built LAV 3's gun couldn't target above 22 degrees to respond against RPG teams, nor target rooftop threats. South Korea's K2 can address this as it has the ability to kneel its suspension at both ends, thus overcoming the limitations in the main guns firing arc allowing it to fight in mountainous terrain.
It is so difficult and expensive to produce a new modern tank. The war in Ukraine just made engineers of tank designs to up their game and nations willing to invest in new tanks. The antitank weapons has become more lethal and to make a new tank to defeat other older, modern upgrades on older tank platform has to be excellent to invest in making a new modern tank. The training of crews and it's advance capabilities have to be innovative to survive in a new modern 360 degree warfare. The cost is the name of the game for new modern advance tanks to be relevant. These new modern tanks are super expensive and to see them blown up by cheap drones or shoulder fired antitank weapons is devastating.
How about giving the Kf51 a helpful sidekick in due time, use the Kf51 as a basis, replace the 12.7 HMG and 130mm main gun with a 76mm OTO Melara , replace the Heron 120 with LFK-NG (or a similar next generation SAM and get a dedicated anti-drone RCWS on the top, it has the crew stations to control all of those systems. Basically the next gen OF-40 Otomatic, or the next gen Gepard to the Leopard if you will. Also, could DART be employed? If so it would be much more than just a terrifying SPAAG but actually capable of knocking out tactical missiles and thus capable of force protection in a much bigger way. If extra targeting and sensors would be necessary for that specific capability well then maybe on a specialist vehicle? (Boxer chassis?) One such vehicle to a platoon of four SPAAG Panthers?( Caracal?).....sweet!
The New German tank is astronomically great and lethal I sincerely Love it . But, I would like to see a rear 50 caliber machine gun on tank to avoid rear attacks from the enemy.
@@0Turbox it is a lie that modern armor at an extreme angle like the underside of the panther's turrent armor won't deflect incoming rounds into the thinner hull armor. Either you are ignorant of the laws of physics or you are grossly misinformed.

Yet again armor designers allow a shell trap around the front turrent that will reflect shells downwards into the thinner armor above the driver.
I'm no expert, but I doubt, that these defense materials allow for bounces.
@@0Turbox it has nothing to do with the material but the instability of a metal arrow striking any angled surface. Physics explains the process.
@@muzikizfun With these modern composite armors, there is more involved, as your plain "metal slug hits angled metal plate".
