  • This video follows the Trans Canada Highway through its final 50 kilometres in northwestern Ontario from Kenora into Manitoba towards Winnipeg. At the Manitoba border Ontario Highway 17 ends and the Trans Canada takes on its Highway 1 designation. The TCH is the only major east west route connecting Ontario with Manitoba and the rest of western Canada. Through this stretch we will pass through the last reaming sections of the Canadian Shield and boreal forest as you head west into the Canadian Prairies. Sit back and enjoy the ride!!!

More fun to take the old 17 route through Kenora, versus 17A. Kenora is an interesting town, with some amazing scenery near the lake.

I used to work at Minaki lodge before it burned to the ground. I traveled through Kenora often.

Have driven across all of Ontario on the Kings Highway to see family in Winnipeg. Good times.
